Customer questions and answers for samsung YP-GS1CB
Question
how to download music I already own
I cannot figure out how to transfer mp3's to this device. I tried installing Kies, but it didn't seem to recognize the device was plugged in. Do I need to do something on the device so that it is recognized. Also, is it possible for Windows Media player to recognize it for easier music syncing? Thanks!

Best way I found was to transfer directly to sd card through the computer. Either by sd slot which I have or buying a card reader it is faster and the player still reads the media.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
You'll need to use either Emodio or Windows Media Player to transfer music to your MP3 Player. We recommend you refer to the following troubleshooting articles.
If you have any additional questions, we suggest your refer to your product manual or the product support page on our website, where you'll find a comprehensive troubleshooting guide, product support videos, FAQs and How-Tos, as well as manual & software downloads.
Ever since adding a 32GB class 4 external SD card and moving my multimedia onto that, the built-in audio and video players (home screen) don't always see the files after the unit boots, and even when they do, they often can't play them. I've dismounted the card, ejected, and re-inserted the card, and have also run Windows error checking on both the internal and external SD drives with no errors found.
I've reformatted the external card using the unit's reformat setting, plus I've reset the unit to factory specs to start everything fresh, but no luck.
I guess I can try another external SD card, though I've used this card to read and write files with no errors except with the Android OS, in which files get corrupt and end up in the LOST.DIR folder. I've scanned both drives with anti-virus and anti-malware apps on my computer via USB connection. Wondering if this is a Gingerbread issue, memory issue, Galaxy Player issue, or defective SD card. Probably the last one, but before I spend more $, any suggestions?

From the way it sounds, if the card is able to be read and written to on another device, it sounds like the card reader on the samsung galaxy player is bad or faulty. I would contact samsung customer service and request maintenance on your player. You may also have a bad Android OS. Which version of gingerbread are you currently running on your samsung.
If you are capable of doing so, I would recommend having the OS reinstalled to see if that fixes the problem.

it doesn`t work if the coverart is only saved in the ID3-Tag! If you have a folder structure with your albums, you can leave the album cover as jpeg-file named "folder.jpeg". that works fine on my SGP3.6

If you are refering to after a failure the easiest way is to remove the battery resetting the unit "it will not restore to factory settings" but allow you turn it on.. if you just want to restart like after a app install you will have to turn it off and back on. If you want to turn it off temporarily tap the power button and it will go to sleep re-tap and it will turn on.

Suddenly it shows a lot of pop ups telling me that certain apps aren't working properly that I must close by force. However it they keep reappearing after I close them. Also, like every two minutes, the player turns on by itself. Now, I can't reset it nor hard reset it. What can I do to solve this problem?

We're sorry to hear you're encountering issues with your Samsung media player. You mention you've tried reset and hard reset with no success. We still recommend you review the following support article to rule out any missed steps in the hard reset process.
The camera worked fine when I got it, now it will not open. I reset it, removed SD card but it still does it.. Any ideas what is causing this??

Thank you for contacting Samsung. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience this may have given you. It seems that your device may need servicing. Please complete a service request here: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request
I've been trying to uninstall Kies, as every time I start my computer, I get a "failed to load" notice (or words to that effect). I didn't try to load it, I don't want to load it, I want to use it occasionally, not several times a day.
But--when I click on "Uninstall", it gets to a certain point, then says "Setup failed. Close the program kies.exe and click Retry". To the best of my knowledge, Kies is not open, so how can I close it? I can't find it in any form TO close it.
I plan to re-install it, if only I could get rid of it first!

Thank you for contacting Samsung.
When the uninstall wizard indicates that kies.exe is still running, whether or not you see a window or icon in the taskbar, this means the process itself is still active in the background. We recommend you right-click on the taskbar and select "Start Task Manager" Once Task Manager is open, if you do not see any active task for Kies under the Applications tab, click the Processes tab and scroll down in the list until you see kies.exe. Single-click on that entry and then select End Process. A prompt will ask you if you're sure you wish to end the process, so once you've confirmed you do wish to end it, close Task Manager and try uninstalling Kies again. It shouldn't give you any trouble after that.

Is there a solid model of the product I could get from Samsung?
I am looking to build a custom mount for my Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6 and was wondering if there were solid model files (.STEP, .IGES, or other) for this device that I could get for the purpose of designing this mount.

1. The player will not change my channels, even though it adjusts sound. I get a message that says the source has to be TV for channel changing. It worked on the Galaxy Note 10.1 and it works on my phone Galaxy III. What is the issue?
2. Also, I want to play music through my smart Entertainment Center but it does not recognize the files. Why not? How can I fix this?
