If you ever need to delete a user account other than the owner account, power the Chromebook on and if you're already signed into another account or the account you wish to remove, go ahead and sign out. Once you're at the login screen, hover your mouse cursor over the account you wish to delete. A small X will appear in the top-right corner of the account picture. Click X to delete the account.
what app do I use to open & use my downloaded quicken program?
I downloaded Quicken 2012 using my samsung but it won't allow me to open it and use it. I've put it into my chrome doc, but that doesn't help.

The Quicken program you're referring to is likely a Windows program. The Chromebook you purchased doesn't run Windows programs because it uses the Chrome operating system. It's similar to how a Mac doesn't run Windows programs, and Windows doesn't run Mac programs. I already looked to see if there was a version for Chrome, but there is not at this time.

(1) I know how to use my Chromebook to connect to Wi-Fi hotspots. (Please don't try to explain this to me.) (2) I find that about 20% of the time I am unable to connect to a open Wi-Fi hotspot, even though my Chromebook sees the hotspot. (3) I do not have a problem connecting to these very same hotspots with my other mobile devices. (4) Are there know issues with the Wi-Fi connectivity of my Samsung Chromebook? Will these be addressed in future updates?

Model XE550C22-A01US In models with a plugin battery you just flip the switch away from the battery connector.This model has no battery connection like that.

I have fully charged my chromebook and the indicator shows lots of battery life (60%+) and then the next time I use it, I get a battery low level alert with 7 minutes left!
Is the indicator the problem - - not accurate?
OR, is the battery having a problem? I get about 2.5 hours of checking email, watching youtube videos, web surfing, then it needs to charge.

I lost the sound on my chromebook 5 how do I restore it?
I lost the sound while watching a show on a train station. The speacker drawing is full. Turned it off and power it onn again but to no avail. Do not have sound since then. How do I restore the sound. I do not see sound setting on the setting menu.

Issue with power adapter. Does my chromebook need to be repaired?
My chromebook works properly, however there is one issue that I am concerned with. When I plug in the adapter into the chrombook, I find that the small plug barely stays in the socket. It is loose. Also, if I pull it about less than 1 millimeter, it breaks connection and no power is delivered to the chromebook.
Is that how it is supposed to be? I'd say there is a problem with the socket on the chromebook, that it is damaged in some way. It was always loose, but it seems to be gradually getting more lose with time.

Hi, I have a Samsung Series 5 Chromebook (3G model - about 10 months old). It works fine except sometimes it just crashes or freezes up seemingly for no reason. I switched to "dev mode" and rebooted into a shell where I was surprised that it wouldn't let me set a password (the failed output said something about the folder not existing).
I then tried # chromeos-firmwareupdate --mode=todev but as you can see in the screenshot "incompatible firmware image".
I tried to download a recovery image to a USB stick with no luck many times - but I created a recovery drive on a Windows system and proceeded to flash the Chromebook successfully; only for all the same stuff to happen when I go to "dev mode". I can't set a password on dev mode.
It's not a serious problem I don't think. I'm mostly curious is all; in particular about all the Bluetooth-related files, sockets and dmesg activity. cheers jonny

Thank you for contacting Samsung. To fix the crashing and freezing problems, we recommend that you hold down the power button and a reset button you can find on the bottom of the device.
For the system not accepting your password, this may be fixed by the system reset. However, if it's not, we recommend that you contact Google: http://support.google.com/chromeos/bin/static.py?hl=en&ts=1342028&page=ts.cs
For the last question about the Bluetooth files, etc., it's part of the OS. So even though you don't have the hardware to support it, there are drivers in the OS to support other models that do. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!
