Any wireless router that offers the WiFi 802.11 standards should be compatible with the Samsung Linkstick. Although Samsung does not recommend any one router over another, I would suggest you head to your local electronics retailer for further assistance in the selection of the right router for your needs.

Since the C5000 offers AllShare DLNA, the WIS09ABGN Linkstick will be compatible with it. However, please note, the Linkstick can only facilitate a wireless connection to your home network, and does not add additional features to a device that does not already have the features.

Assuming you have a Netflix account simply subscribe to the streaming feature, wait a few minutes and then login via your tv. If memory seves me correctly you simply enter the provided streaming code or network key to activate your tv or DVD player which has the USB LAN adapter. Very simple to start streaming.

In order to access Netflix, you will need a Samsung TV, BD player or Home Theater system that allows access to the Netflix services. The Linkstick only facilitates a wireless connection to a home network to allow the Samsung devices to access the internet wirelessly. The Linkstick itself does not add additional features, nor does it add Netflix to Samsung Devices that do not already have this functionality.

Although the main body of the WIS09ABGN is the part of the unit you want to connect to your device, it is only compatible with Samsung devices that offer Internet connectivity (some 2010 TVs and all 2010 BD players). However, the Linkstick will not be compatible with Samsung DVD players or DVD Home Theaters.

Although some retailers may still have stock of this product, Samsung no longer offers this device for sale.

The LinkStick is supposed to work on select newer Samsung TV's and Blu-Ray players only -- not with computers. The tv and or player already has the correct driver software installed so this stick is used to plug into the USB port of a Samsung TV or Blu-Ray player and then connect to your wireless network (via your wireless router.)

Depends on your Wireless settings of your router, meaning do you use a Security key or not, WEP WPA WPA2. Read the paper that came with the device, I recall having read it won't connect if one has WEP enable. I am using WPA2 security; switch on my device (TV) plugged it in and followed the prompts that were displayed on the screen. Searched for Wireless source and added my security key did a test and it was ready to go. Be sure the encryption key is not too long and all should work just fine. I have done it several times and each time was a breeze. Hope this will help. Even tried it with the WPS feature on my router, which was also a breeze.

Yes, the WIS09ABGN Wireless Adapter does come with an Instruction Manual.

To connect your Wireless Adapter, use the L adapter if it fits... Do not force the L shape adapter, if the usb port is a bit too close to the back of the LCD Flat Panel. Just remove the adapter, then push it into any usb ports.

A box should pop up automatically, and asks to configure the new wireless usb, to connect to a wireless network.

You should see your network appear on the Wi-Fi search screen. If this does not work, try unplugging the power cable from your router or modem. Wait 15 seconds, then reconnect the power to router, and or modem.

Now, wait till the router boots up, and try to reconnect to see if it now shows up on the Wi-Fi search screen.

If it does show your network, then simply click on the network, and punch in your wireless password. If you don't know your password, then try looking on the back, or bottom of your router, and a you should see a default wireless password. Type that in.

For Cable modems Only! --- Call your service provider, and find your way to service issues, then when asked to REFRESH your modem, hit yes.

If all of these steps do not work, I would advise to change your Wireless Security settings to WPA, instead of WPA2. There are compatibility issues with some networks, and most wireless devices will always connect to a WPA security setting.

Take Care, and Good Luck!

Sorry , if this is your TV model samsung does not show a adapter for it and this one will not work.
1st Question.. Does your TV have a USB port built in the set?
2nd Question.. If it does, is it USB 2.0?? If it does you could try a generic adapter that you can pick up at alocal store and see if it will work. If it does not , just return it. What I would sugest if you are still in the market is to buy a SMART blu-ray and you can connect to everything you want through it as it has a built in adapter and you just plug it up to your TV and it becomes your wifi conection.
Hope if you are still looking this helps you out..

I'm sorry for the confusion. These two models are actually the same units. The last few characters in the model number (in this case the "X") are used by Samsung for shipping and tracking purposes mainly and are sometimes used by retailers to better track their own inventory. Very rarely do these characters mean that the units offer different features or sizes.

With that said, the WIS09ABGNX will be compatible with your UN32C6500.

Question

Will this adapter work with my PN50B550?

I purchased my Samsung 50" Plasma TV, PN50B550, in December of 2009. My TV does not have an Ethernet port for me to connect to the internet. If I purchase this adapter will it allow me to connect to the internet? I do not believe that my TV has Internet@TV, do I need that to be able to connect to the internet and use apps? If so, is there a firmware update or something out there so I can get Internet@TV on my TV?

No, it will not.The LinkStick Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter works with later models than the one that you have. Also, for you to use apps, that would require some type of internet connectivity. I've heard many users connect theirs directly through their PC.

Question

Internet TV will not connect to the internet

My wireless router connects to the internet with no problems, however, when I try to connect Internet TV using the WIS09ABGN, I am unable to connect to the internet. I connect using DHCP and the WIS09ABGN can connect to my wireless router. I even tried setting the connection manually, but still no success. I get success on IP adress but not Gateway (ping). Not connected to the gateway.

Any suggestions???

Thanks for your help.

Are you using any kind of security encryption on your wireless network, such as WEP or WPA? If so, the LinkStick will have trouble connecting to the internet. I was having the same problems you described while using WPA, so I downgraded my security to WEP and got a little better results. However I did not want to turn encryption off completely. Also, it may help to turn the firewall off in your router, which again is very dangerous to the computers running on your network. My solution was to hook my tv to a dedicated wireless access point and host. I hooked the tv to the AP and the host to my router and now there are no problems and I can continue to run my WPA encrypted wireless router with my firewall on. It's the same thing as running a long Ethernet cable but I didn't want to do that.

I’m sorry you are having an issue with your device. Although with the information you have provided I do not have a solution for you; I will say that if you make a service request at http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o..., or contact 800-SAMSUNG, the service department should be able to provide you with a live solution.

Since you did not specify which TV you are connecting the Linkstick to, I cannot say if the Linkstick would even be compatible. The Linkstick only facilitates an internet connection to your TV IF your TV offers Internet@TV. The Linkstick cannot add additional features to a TV that does not already come with said features preinstalled.

What is the distance for transmit and receive for the WIS09ABGN wireless LAN adapter?

How far can this device be located from the household wireless-N LAN router? Can you give a range, and adjustments to be calculated for different types of construction; for example: wood-frame, with wood siding, but aluminum windows.

Since the WIS09ABGN only receives a WiFi signal from a home router, the distance is actually determined by your router's range. Unfortunately, I do not have any information for signal loss through different material; however, I do know that metal walls or water piping can adversely effect your signal strength.

The WIS09ABGN will in fact work with the HT-C5500. On page 26 of the HT-C5500's manual, the Linkstick is specifically detailed as being the wireless dongle needed for WiFi connectivity.

This is the only adapter that is made specifically for Samsung's newer TV's and Blu-Ray players, because those products are designed with the correct driver software built in to them to talk to this wireless adapter. Other adapters MAY work, and I saw someone say they were using a Linksys adapter with no problems, but they obviously got very lucky with that because the chip in the Linksys adapter happened to match the chip used in the Samsung adapter. The person did not mention which model Linksys they were using.

The wireless adapter will not be included with the BD-P1590 player. However, the Linkstick you are asking this question under, the WIS09ABGN, will be the compatible linkstick for the BD-P1590.
