I understand that you'd like to be able to wash in hot water. Please try the following steps to determine what's preventing the hot wash cycle from working properly.
1. Is the hot water heater set to at least 120°F and is the hot water valve to the washer turned on all the way?
2. Are the hot and cold hoses attached correctly? Also check the water inlet screens on the back of the washer to make sure there is nothing blocking it.
3. Run hot water through the pipe leading to the washer by turning on the nearest hot water tap in order to flush any cold water through the pipe.
4. Run a test cycle on an empty machine by selecting a hot water cycle and pressing Start/Pause. Once the machine fills up, press Start/Pause again, open the door once it unlocks and check the water. If the water still isn't hot, your washer may require service.
If it is hot, then the issue may have been that there was cold water sitting in the pipes which filled the washer before the hot water made it through. The solution to this is to flush the cold water from the hot water pipe by running the nearby tap prior to running the washer.
Another option is to run a Sanitize cycle which will use the washer's internal water heater to raise the water temperature to above 150°F.
