Question

Water in washer glass window

After doing a wash load there is water in both the seal (which I expected to have to dry) and inside the glass door which is not accessible. Is this normal or does it indicate at glass seal problem? Is there a way to dry/remove water from between inner and outer glass in door?

Thanks for the question. It's not unusual to have a small amount of condensation inside the door glass, but if water has pooled or is accumulating there, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you. It is normal to have water in the gaskets. Wiping it up and leaving the door open when not in use can help to keep the inside of the washer smelling fresh.

It appears to be completely normal. I too expected to see sloshing water and suds just like at the laundermat but not with this unit. Even with a towel load that had to bring the unit to full capacity there was none of the usual entertainment that comes from a front loader with transparent door. It sure cleans, however. Whether the towel load I mentioned, whites or other fabrics...absolutely everything is coming out great. So, I have resolved myself to simply enjoying the faceted reflection of the LED lighting off the diamond-molded tub and contemplating how much money I must be saving on my water bill.

There are currently two models of Samsung pedestals that are compatible with the WF520ABP washer: WE357A7P and WE357A0P. The latter has a new "Quick Install" system to make mounting the washer or dryer on top of the pedestal easier, though the pedestals themselves are the same.

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF520 and other Samsung washers opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible.

I'm sorry to hear your new washer won't rinse or spin. There are several possible reasons for this; it could have to do with the water supply, or draining, or the machine not being properly leveled. I would suggest starting by visiting the link below to the troubleshooting guide, then selecting "Operation ► Washer Doesnt Drain or Doesnt Spin At All": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If the washer does not appear to be getting water, please check the water supply to make sure the valves are turned on all the way and the hoses are not bent or kinked. You may also need to check the inlet hose screens on the back of the washer to make sure there's no debris obstructing the water flow.

If these suggestions and those in the troubleshooting guide do not help you resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Samsung's new PowerFoam™ technology infuses air into the detergent so it dissolves faster, distributes more evenly, and penetrates fabrics 2.5 times quicker than a conventional wash. PowerFoam™ not only enhances cleaning performance, but it's also gentle on clothes.

Though the steam wash cycle on the WF520 is appropriate for some drycleanable items, Samsung does not recommend steam washing items that are marked Dry Clean Only. I would suggest referring to the garment care instructions on the suit, or consulting your dry cleaner or other fabric specialist for more information.

Thank you for the question. The WF520 should regulate the temperature of the incoming water by opening and closing the hot and cold water valves in order to achieve the correct temperature based on the wash settings. When cold water is selected, the washer may turn on the hot valve for a short time in order to boost the cold water temperature to the 60ºF necessary to activate the detergent. If the water in your wash drum feels hot when cold is selected, please check the hot and cold hoses to make sure they are attached correctly and not switched around. Check the inlet hose screens to ensure there is no debris blocking the water flow as well. However, if the hoses are set up correctly and there is nothing obstructing the flow, but hot water continues to fill the drum when cold is selected, your washer may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

To activate or deactivate the Child Lock on your WF520ABP washer, press the Spin and Soil Level buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. If you press the Start/Pause button after you have activated the Child Lock function , none of the buttons will work except for the Power button.

To activate or deactivate the Child Lock on your DV520AGP dryer, press the Temp and Time buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. Once the Child Lock is set, the Power button is the only one that will function on the dryer, as well.

For more information on the Child Lock feature, including how to Pause it during a cycle, please download the user manuals from this website. These pdf files can be saved on your computer or a thumb drive or memory card, or burned to a CD, for easy reference and do not have to be printed.

Thank you for the question. It is normal for the water to be difficult to see given the low water use of front load washers, the fact that Samsung's drum tilts toward the back, and the addition of the new Power Foam feature. Because of this, there is likely more water in your washer than you realize. To determine whether your WF520 is filling with the appropriate amount of water, try filling it with water by running a Rinse & Spin cycle (no detergent), then click on the following link and select "Troubleshooting ► Water Related ► There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

The images in this article show approximately how much water should be in the washer without Power Foam obstructing the view. The article also includes troubleshooting tips for addressing a low-water level issue in your washer, if necessary.

Question

Is the detergent dispenser suppose to be full of water after a 'normal' cycle?

I've only used this washer about 4 times but twice, once on the normal load and once on the Stain Away cycle, after the cycle is complete, the detergent dispenser is full of clean water. Is this normal?

It's not unusual to have a small amount of water remaining in the detergent drawer at the end of the cycle. However, more than a small amount may indicate that the washer is not properly leveled, and is leaning forward somewhat. I would suggest using a carpenter's level to check both front to back and side to side leveling, ensuring that the bubble on the level is perfectly centered. Run a Rinse and Spin cycle to determine if there is any vibration, then fine-tune the adjustment to ensure all four feet are firmly planted on the floor to minimize any vibration. Once the leveling is complete, be sure to screw the plastic leg locks into place as far up as they'll go so the legs don't become loose and change their position over time.
