I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If the bleach is not dispensing or if water remains in the dispenser after the cycle, it is possible that either the dispenser or siphon cup are clogged, or the machine is not level (more likely it is leaning forward).

First, remove the dispenser drawer and cup and wash them out thoroughly with soap and warm water. Next, place a carpenter's level on top of the washer and check the "level-ness" both front to back and side to side. If the bubble is not perfectly centered, adjust the legs as needed, making sure to lock the legs in place when you're done by screwing the plastic leg locks into their uppermost position. Run a Spin Only cycle to check for vibration and fine-tune the adjustments as needed to minimize vibration.

For assistance, please click on the following link to open the Troubleshooting Guide which contains articles related to detergent and water being left in the drawer, and instructions on properly leveling the machine: http://tinyurl.com/2cler4y

Thank you for the question. If your pedestal is model number WE357A7W, you will need to remove the leveling legs from the washer/dryer before mounting it on the pedestal. If your pedestal is model number WE357A0W which has the new "Quick Install" brackets, you should leave the leveling legs on.

For more information, please refer to the instructions that came with the pedestal.

Question

Is it normal to get water in the laundry detergent trays

asked 3 years, 5 months ago

Answer this Question

Answers
answer 1
Yes, it's normal to get water in the detergent trays, since water is used to flush each compartment into the drum at the appropriate time, and dilute the detergent or bleach in the process.

It's also not unusual to have a small amount of water remaining in the detergent drawer at the end of the cycle. However, more than a small amount may indicate that the washer is not properly leveled, and is leaning forward somewhat. I would suggest using a carpenter's level to check both front to back and side to side leveling, ensuring that the bubble on the level is perfectly centered. Run a Spin Only or Rinse and Spin cycle to determine if there is any vibration, then fine-tune the adjustment to ensure all four feet are firmly planted on the floor to minimize any vibration. Once the leveling is complete, be sure to screw the plastic leg locks into place as far up as they'll go so the legs don't become loose and change their position over time.

There are a variety of reasons why a washing machine might smell, and remedies to eliminate the odor-causing bacteria introduced to the washer from dirty laundry, water supplies and other external factors are offered both in the User Manual and in the FAQ and Troubleshooting Guides on this website.

Fortunately for you, the WF448 is equipped with two key options that can help to resolve this issue: the SilverCare option and the Sanitize cycle. SilverCare can be added onto almost any preset wash cycle and uses the natural properties of silver ions to help keep both the drum and the laundry fresh-smelling, even in cold water. The Sanitize cycle uses extra hot water (over 150°F) to eliminate the bacteria that causes odor and mildew.

Other methods for reducing odor in your washer include:
- Wiping down the washer door, drum and gaskets, and cleaning the detergent drawer regularly;
- Running Sanitize cycles with bleach and no clothes once per month;
- Run SilverCare once or twice a week as part of your regular wash routine;
- Leave the door of the washer open when not in use to allow fresh air to circulate;
- Do not leave wet clothes sitting in the washer for long periods after the cycle is complete since bacteria thrives in dark, damp areas;
- Be sure to use the right amount of HE detergent, since non-HE or too much HE can leave a soapy residue in and around the drum that can trap bacteria and allow mold and mildew to grow.

I hope these help to resolve your issue,

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your WF448AAW. The water heater in Samsung front loaders serves to boost the temperature of the incoming water to above 150°F during the Sanitize cycle, based on NSF standards. The water temperature in other cycles is monitored by the temperature sensor and is automatically regulated through the opening or closing of the hot and cold inlet water valves. Please check the following to ensure the supplied water and washer are set up properly:
• Turn both faucets on fully.
• Make sure the temperature selection is correct.
• Make sure the hoses are connected to the correct faucets.
• Check your home's water heater. It should be set to at least 120°F. Also check the water heater capacity and recovery rate.
• Disconnect the hoses and clean the screens. The hose filter screens may be plugged.

The further the washer is from the water heater, the longer it can take for standing water to flush through the pipes. Some customers choose to run a nearby tap until hot water comes out to ensure the supplied water is hot when it reaches the washer.

If you are concerned that the steam cycle itself is not working properly because you don't see the steam, it is not unusual for the steam to not be visible. For further assistance, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Though the WF448 is equipped with Samsung's signature Vibration Reduction Technology, which is very effective in reducing noise and vibration during even top spin speeds, if there are only a couple of very heavy items in the drum, the machine may not be able to balance them effectively. First, please check that all four shipping bolts were removed upon installation. Next, make sure the washer is set up and leveled properly by removing the items and running a Spin Only cycle, adjusting the four leveling legs as needed to reduce vibration during the spin cycle. Once you're certain that all legs are firmly in place and the machine is completely leveled (it's a good idea to use a carpenter's level to help in this process), please tighten the plastic leg locks to prevent the legs from vibrating out of position.

If the empty washer vibrates significantly above about 400 RPM (medium spin speed) with the shipping bolts removed and the washer properly leveled, please call 800-SAMSUNG for additional assistance. If the washer spins smoothly with no laundry, then try adding the load as before. Vibration Reduction Technology is capable of counter balancing most loads. However, if items like bath rugs or robes are water soaked and unevenly distributed, it may be necessary to reposition them or add more items for more even weight distribution.

Question

Should clothes rinsed in cold be a wee bit warm at the end when you take them out of the washer?

I chose to wash my clothes in warm water and rinse in cold water. The clothes seemed a wee bit warm when I took them out of the washer. Is this normal for clothes rinsed in cold water? Should I be concerned that something may not be quite right with the hot water and cold water hookups? If so, how can I verify the clothes are being washed in the water temperature chosen and also rinsed in the water temperature chosen?

It's conceivable that your clothes could seem a bit warm even after being rinsed in cold water, but there are a couple of things you can check to make sure the correct temperature water is entering the machine:

- Make sure both faucets from the home's water source are turned on fully.
- Disconnect the water hoses and clean the inlet filter screens to make sure the hose filter screens are clean and not plugged up, which could prevent the cold water from entering fully.

To check to see if the correct temperature water is being used, you could also try turning off the hot water valve at the start of the rinse cycle. If the clothes still feel a bit warm at the end of the cycle, then you'll know it's simply the result of the clothes not cooling fully despite the cold rinse.

answer 1
When the units are stacked, the WF448/DV448 laundry pair is 27" wide by 78" high by 36" deep. The amount of clearance needed around the stacked units depends on where they will be located (alcove or closet installation requires more clearance for air circulation) and how they will be vented. The electric dryer can be vented four ways (back, bottom, left or right), while the gas dryer can be vented only three ways (back, bottom or left side). Please refer to the DV448 User Manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website, for more information about clearance and venting.
