Thank you for the question. There are several things you can do to help keep your WF448 clean. This model is equipped with SilverCare, which is highly effective in eliminating 99.99% of bacteria, and can be added to most cycles simply by pressing the SilverCare button at the start of the cycle. SilverCare can be used in any temperature water and is safe for colors and delicates. Using SilverCare at least twice a week will help to keep your WF448 drum fresh and clean.

Samsung also recommends following some standard maintenance procedures as recommended for most front load washers, including wiping down the gaskets and door between loads and cleaning the soap dispenser and debris filter regularly. It is also very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergents and fabric softeners in your front load washer to prevent the buildup of soap residue that can trap bacteria and cause odors.

For more information about cleaning and maintaining your WF448, you can refer to page 21 of the user manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. It may be necessary to call 800-SAMSUNG to describe to an agent what you are experiencing. Since glass does not rust, it's necessary to determine the source of the rust, but I'm uncertain from your question as to whether the rust is forming between the door glass and the outer plastic cover, or on the side of the glass that's exposed to the inside of the drum. If inside the drum, it's entirely possible the rust is coming from the water or from something in the laundry. I would suggest examining the machine closely to look for the source - is there rust in the detergent compartment or elsewhere in the drum? Then call 800-SAMSUNG to speak to an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

I'm sorry to hear you have an odor in your WF448AAP. This odor is caused by bacteria that is introduced to the washing machine from the water supply, dirty laundry and other environmental factors, and can get trapped in soap residue on the outside of the drum or in the gaskets and dispenser. Besides the standard maintenance procedures recommended for most front load washers, which include running empty sanitize cycles with bleach, wiping down the gaskets and door between loads, cleaning the soap dispenser regularly, and leaving the door open between loads, it is very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent. In addition, Samsung has developed another option for treating this issue.

The WF448 is equipped with SilverCare, an option that can be added to most cycles simply by pressing the SilverCare button at the start of the cycle. SilverCare can be used in any temperature water and is safe for colors and delicates. This feature releases silver ions which are highly effective in eliminating 99.99% of bacteria.

To treat the odor that has already developed, I would suggest cleaning your washer thoroughly by wiping it down with a bleach solution, then adding SilverCare to your regular laundry routine moving forward - using it at least twice a week to remove the odor causing bacteria from both the washer and your clothes.

I'm sorry to hear you have an odor coming from the drain hose of your WF448AAP. This odor is caused by bacteria that is introduced to the washing machine from the water supply, dirty laundry and other environmental factors, and can get trapped in soap residue that can build up in the drain hose and other locations, like the outside of the drum, the door gaskets, or the soap dispenser. If the drain hose is partially clogged, this could enable bacteria to get trapped and cause an odor, as well. I'm sorry to hear your washer is making a loud banging noise. While it's not unusual for there to be a small amount of vibration in the early stages of the spin cycle until it reaches approximately 400 RPM or "medium" spin speed, this minimal vibration should go away quickly, and it should not make a loud banging noise if set up properly. If you're sure all four shipping bolts have been completely removed, and the washer is level with all four feet firmly planted on the floor, check to see if there's anything coming in contact with the machine on the outside, or that there isn't an excessively heavy item inside the drum that could be making the noise. If this does not resolve the problem, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

If the fabric softener remains in the dispenser at the end of the wash cycle, it is likely that either:
- the dispenser drawer is clogged;
- the water is not reaching the compartment with enough pressure to flush the softener out;
- the washer is not level.

Try removing the drawer and rinsing it thoroughly with warm water to remove all detergent residue. Next, place a carpenter's level on top of the washing machine, checking both front to back and side to side leveling. If the washer is leaning forward, it may prevent the drawer from draining properly. Adjust the leveling legs as necessary, running a test "spin only" cycle before tightening the leg locks to be sure all four feet are firmly planted on the floor to prevent vibration. Finally, clean the inlet water hose filter screens and make sure the water valves are turned back on all the way.

If the problem still persists, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further and schedule service if necessary.

What do the shipping bolts look lik? I'm not sure if the installer removed them. Currently there are silver bolts with a red plastic spacers on.

The four shipping bolts located in the back of the washing machine are silver (metal) with spacers (that are usually red) and must be removed prior to using the washing machine to allow the drum to spin properly. Excessive vibration and damage to the machine may occur if the washer is used with the shipping bolts installed.

I would suggest consulting with the installers, the user manual or the online troubleshooting guide regarding installation instructions, which should include removing the shipping bolts and leveling the washer before use.

If power is lost in the middle of a cycle, the WF448AAP should resume where it left off when power is restored. If the washer does not restart automatically, and does not permit you to start over, it is possible that the outage was accompanied by a surge which could damage the controls. In this case, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent for further assistance.

Is there a way to change the "cycle end" song on this washer (WF350ANR) and the accompanying drier?

At first I liked the songs, but after a few hundred runs they started to become annoying. Being able to replace them by other "ring tones" would be very nice.

The WF448 is designed to release the fabric softener into the drum during the last rinse cycle, which is the optimal time so it does not get washed out of the clothes with the detergent. To help ensure the fabric softener will drain at the appropriate time, make sure your water pressure is sufficiently strong (20-116 psi is recommended), check water hose inlet screens for blockage, and wash the detergent drawer thoroughly in warm water to remove any residue that could block the passages.

It's not unusual to have a small amount of water remaining in the detergent drawer at the end of the cycle. However, more than a small amount may indicate that the washer is not properly leveled, and is leaning forward somewhat. I would suggest using a carpenter's level to check both front to back and side to side leveling, ensuring that the bubble on the level is perfectly centered. Run a Spin Only cycle to determine if there is any vibration, then fine-tune the adjustment to ensure all four feet are firmly planted on the floor to minimize any vibration. Once the leveling is complete, be sure to screw the plastic leg locks into place as far up as they'll go so the legs don't become loose and change their position over time.

This should resolve the issue for you.
