GO TO SAMSUNG.COM THEY HAVE ALOT OF NEW MODEL NUMBERS AND ONES THAT ARE NO LONGER YOU CAN COMPARE ON THEIR SITE TOO WHICH I RECOMMEND.... AFTER ALL MY RESEARCH AND WEIGHING I TOOK THE 448 IN WHITE AS DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR (AND THE SALE PRICES ON LINE I FOUND) IT WAS A BETTER DEAL WHETHER OR NOT I WILL USE ALL THE FEATURES IS ANOTHER MATTER BUT I DO USE SILVER ALMOST EVERYLOAD. ITS LIKE DRIVING A FERRARI JUST BECAUSE YOU GOT THE POWER DOESNT MEAN YOU GOTTA USE IT ALL THE TIME OR THATS ITS WASTED JUST BECAUSE YOU KEEP YOUR FOOT OUT OF IT.

Like most manufacturers, Samsung periodically transitions models to ensure the full line-up has an appropriate selection of features, colors and pricepoints to appeal to a diverse group of customers. The 419 laundry pair is one of the newer additions to Samsung's line-up, and is among the most efficient full-size washers currently available, according to Energy Star. Other great features include Samsung's signature Vibration Reduction Technology, ActivFresh to keep your clothes and the machine fresh-smelling without bleach and hot water, and Steam in both the washer and dryer for stain-fighting and wrinkle removal. In addition, both the WF419 and the DV419 are part of an award-winning line up of Samsung products that earned the JD Power & Associates Overall Customer Satisfaction Award for Washers (2009) and Dryers (2008-2009). I can't speak to our retail partners' future plans for any particular model, but I do want to reassure you that the 419s would be an excellent choice, as would any other model in our line up. Thank you for your interest in Samsung.

How do I remove standing water in my detergent tray that won't drain

I have a brand new WF419AAU Washer. I have done maybe 10 loads and all of a sudden I have standing water in the detergent tray. It's actually in the two trays to the right of the detergent tray. There always was residual water in this area after a wash cycle but now there is standing water to the top that sloshes out when I open the drawer. What can I do to have this drain properly? I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Most likely your washer has become unlevel since you started using it, and is now tilted slightly forward. This can happen if the leveling legs were not locked in place when it was initially installed. Over time, vibration can cause the legs to become unlevel again if they are not locked in place. Please follow this link to the instructions for correcting this issue: http://tinyurl.com/yjj6wqa

The estimated duration of the Normal cycle on the WF419AAU is 58 minutes. Actual time may vary depending on several factors, including water pressure, size of load, amount and type of detergent which can effect the amount of suds and need for additional rinse time.

For more information, please refer to the Cycle Chart below, which can also be found on page 28 of the User Manual.

Question

Explain your product specifications

Under your specifications for the WF219ANB washer, next to "Whites" and "Towels" you state: "NO".
What does that mean? I'd be concerned if it meant the product cannot handle washing whites or towels.

To which specifications do you refer? Certain cycles are not recommended for whites and towels, they have their own, individual cycles. No problems with whites, towels, liquid bleach (clorine or color safe). My whites have never been whiter, my towels have never been fresher.

answer 2
Thank you for the question. I can understand your concern, but please rest assured that all Samsung washing machines do an excellent job washing both whites and towels, as well as a variety of other types of items. Each model offers a set of preprogrammed cycles, which are selected based on customer feedback from previous models and other sources. The WF219 does have preprogrammed cycles for Whites and Towels, and the specifications page on the website reflects this fact by indicating "Yes" next to those cycles. The WF419, however, does not have those particular cycles preprogrammed, which is why the specifications for that model states "No" next to those cycles. This does not mean the WF419 is any less capable of washing those types of items; it simply means there are other cycles that are preprogrammed on the WF419 which are equally suitable, such as the "Heavy Duty", "Sanitize" or "Bedding", to name a few. Since the WF419 has more features than the WF219, Samsung chose to reduce redundancy of certain preprogrammed cycles in order to add cycles like Deep Steam while maintaining the user-friendliness of the controls.

Meet My Cycle: If you don't find a preprogrammed cycle that suits your particular wash load, then you also have the ability to select whichever combination of water temperature, spin speed and soil level, along with other available options, and store it as "My Cycle" for one-touch selection on future loads.

A note about capacity: The 4.3 cubic foot WF419 fits a lot of towels - three more than the WF219, which does have the preprogrammed "Towel" cycle! In addition, the WF419 has the internal water heater and Steam feature, both of which are great at getting whites their whitest.

I've attached a copy of the WF419 Cycle Chart, which can also be found on page 28 of the User Manual, for more information on the different cycles and options available.

I hope this helps to clarify and put your mind at ease!

answer 2
If your towels are rougher now than they were with your previous washer, and your previous machine was a toploader (not an HE model), then you may be using too much detergent, or not HE detergent. It is important to use the correct amount of HE detergent with frontloaders due to the low water use. Too much detergent, or the use of non-HE, can prevent the towels from rinsing thoroughly which may cause them to feel rough. Besides adjusting the detergent use, I would suggest selecting the "Extra Rinse" option on the controls to help ensure the maximum amount of detergent and suds are extracted from your towels.

Thank you for the question.

The WF419 automatically adjusts the water level based on the weight of the laundry and cycles selected, using from 13 to 15 gallons of water per cycle. Samsung front load washers do not have a manual water level adjustment. To determine whether your washer is filling with the appropriate amount of water, and how to troubleshoot if it is not, please follow this link, then select Operation ► There is No Water Or Not Enough Water: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

The steam cycles on the WF419 washer are designed to be part of wash cycles and are not available as "steam only". The steam dryers, including the DV419, do have Steam Refresh and Steam WrinkleCare cycles, however, which are ideal for refreshing or removing wrinkles from clothes that have been in storage.

If you're referring to the icon that looks like a padlock, this indicates when the door is locked. To disengage the lock during the cycle, press the Start/Pause button. Press the Start/Pause again to restart the cycle once the door is closed. There are certain times that the door cannot be unlocked, such as when the temperature is too hot (during Sanitize) and when the drum is spinning.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. There are several factors that could result in extended wash times, including low water pressure, improper leveling of the machine, and too much detergent or non-HE detergent being used.

Water pressure should be between 20 and 120 psi for the WF419AAU to operate properly. If the pressure is too low, it could take a long time for the washer to fill, or it could trigger the machine's safety mechanism which helps to prevent water damage from leaks, and shut off entirely.

Please click here for a link to the WF419AAU Troubleshooting page on Samsung's website for further explanation, and tips to correct the leveling and detergent scenarios: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber... If, after trying these corrections, you continue to experience this issue, please contact Customer Care at 800-SAMSUNG for additional assistance.

Washers can be damaged if water is not removed from hoses and internal components before storage. Prepare your washer for storage as follows:
• Select the Quick Wash cycle and add bleach to the automatic dispenser. Run your washer through the cycle without a load.
• Turn the water faucets off and disconnect the inlet hoses.
• Unplug your washer from the electrical outlet and leave your washer door open to let air circulate inside the tumbler.
• If your washer has been stored in below–freezing temperatures, allow time for any leftover water in your washer to thaw out before use.

Thank you for the question. It's not unusual for water to not be visible, partially because of the low water use of this and other front load machines, and partially because of Samsung's drums being tilted toward the back. To determine whether the water is at the appropriate level in your machine, please click on the following link, then select "Operation" > "There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty removing the drain cap from the hose on your WF419. Though the cap is designed to have a tight fit to prevent leaks, it should pull off with some pressure. Be sure to hold the end of the flexible hose in one hand so it does not get damaged, then pull the plug out from the end of the hose with the other hand. Though the plug is not threaded, it may help to twist it a bit while you pull.

If you are still unable to remove it, I would suggest calling 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether service will be necessary.

I'm sorry to hear your towels are not coming clean in your WF419AAU. Besides selecting the appropriate cycle and temperature, it's important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent, since excessive suds can cause fabrics to look dingy or retain odor.
