Questions & Answers for samsung 4.3 cu. ft. Washer

Question

Clothes not getting clean

I washed a normal load. Afterwards, a sweatshirt that was in the load still had peanut butter stains on it, and you can still even smell it. If this can't be resolved I will be returning this washer to the store.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Since peanut butter is oil-based, heat is necessary to break it down and remove it from garments. I would suggest pre-treating the stain with a grease-fighting detergent, and washing it in hot water if the color in the sweatshirt can withstand it.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Odor-causing bacteria can be introduced to the washer from the home's water supply, the dirty laundry, and other environmental factors, so it is important to follow some basic maintenance procedures to help reduce or avoid odors altogether.

The WF409 is equipped with an internal water heater, so I would suggest running a Sanitize cycle with bleach and no clothes at least once a month. Wiping down the door and gaskets and washing out the detergent drawer with warm water periodically can help as well. It is also very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent to help prevent oversudsing which can lead to odor because the suds can leave residue on the drum which traps bacteria. Samsung also recommends cleaning the debris filter, which is accessible through the panel on the lower right front of the washer. Instructions can be found in the User Manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

Thank you for the question. Samsung front load washers, including the WF409, use about 13-15 gallons of water per cycle. To determine whether yours is filling with the appropriate amount of water, please click on the following link, then select "Troubleshooting ► > Water Related ► > There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

This article includes the troubleshooting tips for addressing a low-water level if you find that to be the case. I would also suggest reducing the spin speed when washing articles of clothing that are more delicate.
