Yes, it is fine to use powdered detergent in the dispenser compartment. Samsung recommends using only liquid forms of bleach and fabric softener however.

Question

What water level should show thru the washer door?

Washer is WF350ANR/XAA. When I washed my first load, which consisted of approximately 7-8 normal sized bath towels, the towels were wet but I could see no water level in the machine. I did not receive any error codes. Should a certain water level be visible through the door?

It is not unusual to not be able to see the water through the door during a wash load. If you're concerned about the water level, I would suggest running a Quick Wash cycle with no clothes, and comparing the water level during the initial fill and operating portions of the cycle with the attached photos.

Since steam itself is very hot, I would suggest using this option only on garments that can stand up to heat. Please refer to the garment's fabric care instructions to determine whether heat settings are appropriate.

Though the doors on Samsung's front load washers, including the WF350, cannot be reversed, the dryer doors on the DV350 and other models can be set up to open left to right or right to left. The dryers actually come with the doors opening left to right (the hinge is on the right).

The 17-inch clearance recommendation is specific to installations in closets or alcoves to ensure sufficient ventilation. If your laundry room is open with ample ventilation, that requirement is not relevant. Please use caution in placing anything on top of the washer and dryer to avoid scratching, and keep in mind that objects placed on top of the units while they are running may be effected if there is any vibration.

It is not unusual for a small amount of residual water to trickle into the washer as it settles at the end of a wash load. However, if water is actively being added to your machine when it is not on, it will likely require service. Please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether service is necessary.

Question

Use of regular cycle and or steam cycle

In manual on page 21 it says you can use "Normal, Perm Press, Sanitize, Bedding and Deep Steam" all of which are marked on the dial as Steam Cycle. On Page 22 "Using Steam Wash" you are instructed to turn the CYCLE SELECTOR and select a steam cycle (we assume this means any of the ones colored orange) You are then instructed to PRESS THE STEAM BUTTON (Where is this located). My wife is under the impression that all of the cycles on the left are steam cycles and should not be used for regular washing. I have tried to tell her this is not so but she needs assurance from you has to 'HOW TO SELECT THE WASH CYCLES FOR REGULAR WASHING" . We feel these are the best washer and dryer we have had in sixty years of marriage. Your help with this question will be deeply appreciation.

Thank you for the question. There are a couple of ways of using the Steam feature in your WF350 washer, and it may be helpful to refer to the Cycle Chart on page 35 of the user manual to help illustrate. You can either select the Deep Steam Cycle itself which will automatically use steam as part of the program (turn the dial all the way to the left for this cycle), or you can set the dial on one of the other cycles that allows Steam as an option, including Normal, Heavy Duty, Perm Press, Sanitize or Bedding. Pressing the Steam button on the control panel (see attached picture) will add Steam onto those cycles. If you don't press the Steam button when programming one of these cycles, the Steam feature will not be engaged and the cycle will run without it.

I hope this helps to clarify the instructions on using this feature. We appreciate your feedback and compliments!

Most Samsung front load washers produced from 2008 through 2011 or later do have debris filters. The WF350 is one of these. You'll find the debris filter located on the lower front of the machine through the small access door. For more information, please click here to view a short how-to video about cleaning the debris filter: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...
Your WF350 user manual also contains information about the debris filter.

It's not unusual to have a small amount of water remaining in the detergent drawer compartments at the end of the cycle. However, more than a small amount may indicate that the washer is not properly leveled, and is leaning forward somewhat. I would suggest using a carpenter's level to check both front to back and side to side leveling, ensuring that the bubble on the level is perfectly centered. Run a Spin Only or Rinse and Spin cycle to determine if there is any vibration, then fine-tune the adjustment to ensure all four feet are firmly planted on the floor to minimize any vibration. Once the leveling is complete, be sure to screw the plastic leg locks into place as far up as they'll go so the legs don't become loose and change their position over time.

The WF350 user manual includes a Fabric Care Chart and Cycle Chart, but not a "load size chart". This model is large enough to fit a king size comforter or about 26 standard (24" x 44") bath towels. The washer's automatic weight sensor will detect the size of the load and make the necessary water level adjustments accordingly.

Thank you for the question. It is normal for the water to be difficult to see given the low water use of front load washers as well as the fact that Samsung's drum tilts toward the back. Because of this, there may be more water in your washer than you realize. Since the washer determines how much water to use depending on several factors, including load weight, soil level, and cycle selection, it's difficult to compare what you see in your washer to your daughter's.

To determine whether your WF350 is filling with the appropriate amount of water, please click on the following link: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

This article also includes the troubleshooting tips for addressing a low-water level.

Question

Noisy drain pump

Drain pump became progressively louder and seems to run almost all the time. Can't see any water "level" during rinse cycle; seems to drain out as fast as water enters. Pump stopped functioning, was replaced last week but new pump is still very noisy. Washer is one floor below bedroom on the opposite side of the house with the laundry door closed and I can hear it from the bedroom, running 90% of the time during the wash cycle. Can something be done to fix it?
