Yes, it is fine to use powdered detergent in the dispenser compartment. Samsung recommends using only liquid forms of bleach and fabric softener however.

Question

Does the WF350 have VRT Plus or just VRT?

Some areas on the comparison charts on the WF350 don't seem to match the acutal manual of the WF350 washer. I am trying to see what the main differences are between the WF350 and the WF520.

The WF350 has VRT, not VRT Plus. Besides the upgrade to the new generation VRT Plus, the 5.0 cubic foot WF520 features PowerFoam, a new technology which allows detergent to distribute evenly and penetrate fabrics 40 times faster than conventional detergents alone; 1300 RPM maximum spin speed; 13 preset wash cycles and 6 options; and a 3.6" LCD display panel.

The 4.3 cubic foot capacity WF350 offers 1150 RPM maximum spin speed; 11 preset wash cycles and 3 options.

Both models offer Pure Cycle, Samsung's latest innovation which enables you to clean your drum with the touch of a button without the need for bleach or other additives; as well as our Diamond Drum, Steam Washing; internal water heater and Direct Drive motor.

Question

What water level should show thru the washer door?

Washer is WF350ANR/XAA. When I washed my first load, which consisted of approximately 7-8 normal sized bath towels, the towels were wet but I could see no water level in the machine. I did not receive any error codes. Should a certain water level be visible through the door?

It is not unusual to not be able to see the water through the door during a wash load. If you're concerned about the water level, I would suggest running a Quick Wash cycle with no clothes, and comparing the water level during the initial fill and operating portions of the cycle with the attached photos.

Though the doors on Samsung's front load washers, including the WF350, cannot be reversed, the dryer doors on the DV350 and other models can be set up to open left to right or right to left. The dryers actually come with the doors opening left to right (the hinge is on the right).

Since steam itself is very hot, I would suggest using this option only on garments that can stand up to heat. Please refer to the garment's fabric care instructions to determine whether heat settings are appropriate.

It is not unusual for a small amount of residual water to trickle into the washer as it settles at the end of a wash load. However, if water is actively being added to your machine when it is not on, it will likely require service. Please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can help determine whether service is necessary.

The 17-inch clearance recommendation is specific to installations in closets or alcoves to ensure sufficient ventilation. If your laundry room is open with ample ventilation, that requirement is not relevant. Please use caution in placing anything on top of the washer and dryer to avoid scratching, and keep in mind that objects placed on top of the units while they are running may be effected if there is any vibration.

If the washer is still rocking back and forth during the spin cycle, the leveling is probably not complete. Even if it appears the washer is balanced, if there is any movement possible in the legs, you may need to do some further adjustment so the washer feet are firmly planted.

Please click on the link below, then select "Operation" > "Washer Vibrations": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

This article includes other troubleshooting suggestions in addition to checking the leveling of your WF350.

Thank you for the question. Please click on the link below to view a short video that should help you to properly level your WF350ANR: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

Additional instructions for leveling the washer and reducing noise and vibration can be found in the online Troubleshooting Guide available through the product's support page.

The WF350, like other Samsung washers currently available, features our signature Vibration Reduction Technology which, when installed and working correctly, can virtually eliminate noise and vibration. If, after following the steps in the video and Guide, you continue to experience problems with your WF350, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Thank you for the question. The "Garment +" (or add-a-garment) and Child Lock symbols are actually explained on page 20 of the user manual; the Steam and Door Lock icons illuminate when those items are activated. To add a garment after the cycle has started, press the Start/Pause button. This should unlock the door as long as it is not in the middle of a spin or sanitize cycle, or if there is too much water in the drum. Samsung recommends adding a garment only during the first few minutes of the cycle to ensure thorough cleaning.

The WF350 is equipped with PureCycle, a pre-programmed cycle that helps to clean the drum inside and out to help prevent odor, and should be used after every 40 loads, or approximately once a month. For more information, please refer to the User Manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

Wiping down the door and gaskets and washing out the detergent drawer with warm water periodically can help, as well. It is also very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent to help prevent oversudsing which can lead to odor because the suds can leave residue on the drum which traps bacteria. Samsung also recommends cleaning the debris filter, which is accessible through the panel on the front of the washer. Instructions for cleaning the debris filter can also be found in the User Manual.

Question

Use of regular cycle and or steam cycle

In manual on page 21 it says you can use "Normal, Perm Press, Sanitize, Bedding and Deep Steam" all of which are marked on the dial as Steam Cycle. On Page 22 "Using Steam Wash" you are instructed to turn the CYCLE SELECTOR and select a steam cycle (we assume this means any of the ones colored orange) You are then instructed to PRESS THE STEAM BUTTON (Where is this located). My wife is under the impression that all of the cycles on the left are steam cycles and should not be used for regular washing. I have tried to tell her this is not so but she needs assurance from you has to 'HOW TO SELECT THE WASH CYCLES FOR REGULAR WASHING" . We feel these are the best washer and dryer we have had in sixty years of marriage. Your help with this question will be deeply appreciation.

Thank you for the question. There are a couple of ways of using the Steam feature in your WF350 washer, and it may be helpful to refer to the Cycle Chart on page 35 of the user manual to help illustrate. You can either select the Deep Steam Cycle itself which will automatically use steam as part of the program (turn the dial all the way to the left for this cycle), or you can set the dial on one of the other cycles that allows Steam as an option, including Normal, Heavy Duty, Perm Press, Sanitize or Bedding. Pressing the Steam button on the control panel (see attached picture) will add Steam onto those cycles. If you don't press the Steam button when programming one of these cycles, the Steam feature will not be engaged and the cycle will run without it.

I hope this helps to clarify the instructions on using this feature. We appreciate your feedback and compliments!

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF350ANR opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible.

I'm sorry to hear your WF350ANR is not spinning. If this is not related to vibration, then it may be related to the washer not draining. Please click on the link below then select "Troubleshooting ► Water Related ► Washer Doesnt Drain or Doesnt Spin At All" for troubleshooting suggestions: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If, in fact, the washer is vibrating despite the appearance of being level, I would suggest watching the short video available through this link to confirm the washer is leveled properly: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

If the washer still will not spin after making any adjustments suggested, your washer may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
