I have a Samsung front load washer VRT for 4 years now no problems until recent. Lately when the washer gets to the spin cycle you hear a metal sound

I have a Samsung front load washer VRT for 4 years now no problems until recent. Lately when the washer gets to the spin cycle you hear a metal sound (Metal on metal scrap sound) now the machine sounds like it is spinning but the inside drum does not spin. What are my options

We have a front loading washer model WF337AAG/Xaa. Intermittantly the clothes come out wet at the end of the wash cycle. We then run the spin cycle which takes an extra 15 minutes or so. It sounds like it is adding water at this time which confuses me since we are trying to spin the water out. I have followed the troubleshooting steps ie. make sure it is a full load, use HE soap, use hi speed spin. As i said this is an intermmittant problem but very annoying. I talked my wife into this new technology and she is after me to resolve this problem which she did not have with her old machine and that is anoying.

The WF337AAG/XAA model was produced prior to the introduction of the access door in the front of the washers. Gaining access to the drain system in the WF337 would require a service visit. Question

Model WF337AAG washer leaking water from window

A circular wire with a small spring type latch fell off the washer when opening the door. An attempt was made to replace it around the rubber that circles the door, but the window is still leaking water. Can't find a schematic that shows where this part goes, or any info on it at all.

Water in HE Washing Machine

10-31-10: Unsure about the level of water that loads in the washing machine. Realizing the high efficiency machines use less water, very little water is visible during the wash load, even when the machine is paused and the door opened. Would like to know if there is a malfunction with this particular unit as it's hard to see this as the "norm"/intended amount. Will await advisement on a means of getting more water into the machine and measuring the amount of water the machine should have. Thank You

It is not unusual for little or no water to be visible during the wash load due to both the low water use of the HE front loader as well as the fact that Samsung's drums are tilted toward the back of the machine to enable you to pause and open the door during the cycle, among other things. To determine whether your washer is using the appropriate amount of water, please click on the link below then select "Operation" > "There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

This Troubleshooting Guide article includes pictures of the appropriate water level at different stages of the wash cycle. If you run a Quick Wash without clothes then pause the machine at different stages of the cycle, you can compare the level of water in your machine to the level in the pictures. Can you tell me which front loader models offer "soaking" as an option? I have cloth diapers which require soaking every few months. I found some of the information on the retailer website, but came here to compare all samsung models and to determine which one is best for my needs.

Samsung does not offer a "soak" cycle, per se, on its washers. Certain cycles, such as Sanitize, have longer wash times, so items spend more time in the soapy water. In addition, it is possible to pause the washer during the cycle for periods of time. Keep in mind, however, that due to the low water use in front load washers, these washers work by tumbling clothes through the water, rather than submerging them.

Since the Sanitize cycle is probably a good option for washing diapers, I would suggest considering the models with the internal water heater, which is necessary for Sanitizing. The new PowerFoam feature, which is available only on the WF520, is also a good option, since it pre-dissolves detergent for faster penetration into the fabric and more effective cleaning.

If the door on your WF337 is locked and will not unlock when you pause it, try cycling the power to the washer by unplugging it or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. (Please note that the door should not unlock when the sanitize or spin cycles are in progress.) Check the drain hose for blockage or bends or kinks that could obstruct the flow. Press Power to turn the washer back on, then Start/Pause to drain the washer and unlock the door, if necessary.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Please try removing the detergent drawer and rinsing it thoroughly with warm water to remove any detergent residue that could be preventing the water from draining. Replace the drawer, making sure it's closed securely, and check the washer's leveling. If the machine is leaning forward at all, this could contribute to the inability of the water to drain through the proper channels. Try running a Rinse & Spin cycle with no detergent. If there is no more leaking, the next time you run a load with detergent, be sure the dispenser is set up correctly for the type of detergent you're using, powder or liquid.

I went out and bought the new Tide Washing Machine Cleaner as I too had this problem. You just take out your detergent tray and pour the pouch in (powder) and then I put it on the sanitize cycle and walk away. I do this once a month and have not had the mildew smell since. Hope this helps :)

It's not unusual to have some water continue to drain from the top of the drum as it settles after a cycle has ended, but if water is continuing to enter the drum after the cycle ends service may be necessary. First, try these steps:
- turn off the water valves and disconnect the hoses
- remove the inlet hose screens to clean them in warm, soapy water
- replace the hose screens, the hoses and turn the valves back on
- run a Rinse & Spin cycle

If it appears that water is still entering after the cycle is complete, turn off the water valves. If this stops the flow of water into the machine, service will be necessary.
