The WF331 is equipped with PureCycle, a pre-programmed cycle that helps to clean the drum inside and out, and should be used after every 40 loads, or approximately once a month. Because of this, there is likely more water in your washer than you realize. To run a Spin Only cycle on the WF331, press and hold the Spin button for about 3 seconds, until you hear a chime sound. The display should show how many minutes the Spin Only cycle will last. To adjust the time, press the Spin button to cycle through the preselected time options.

Many of the wash cycles on the WF331 can have the Steam feature activated by pressing the Steam button on the control panel. If you don't wish to use Steam, make sure the Steam button is deselected. The only cycle that automatically uses steam is the Deep Steam cycle.

The time that is displayed when you first select the wash cycle is based on pre-programmed estimates and may fluctuate to better indicate the time remaining in the cycle as actual conditions vary from those that the preprogrammed estimates are based on. Factors that can effect the difference between the estimated and actual cycle times include water pressure, water temperature, detergent, load size and weight. The amount of suds produced in a cycle can effect the number of rinses that are necessary as well as the ability of the washer to spin properly, for example. An unbalanced load will take longer to wash than a balanced one because the washer will make several attempts to reposition the load so it can spin efficiently and with minimal vibration. Any adjustments to temperature or soil level, or the addition of options such as Pre-Wash or Steam, will also effect the time estimates.

Yes, these are the shipping bolts, and it's very important that they be removed prior to plugging in or turning on the washer. If you intend to lay the washer on its side during installation in order to attach a pedestal, for example, please keep the shipping bolts in place until the washer is upright. Laying the washer on its side, or tilting at a sharp angle, without the shipping bolts installed can result in damage to the drum or the suspension system.

Quite possibly the black gunk is mold building around the seal. I am told that to prevent that from happening do not close the door completely. You want some air to get in and dry the water completely before you close the washer up tightly. To clean it I would suggest using some white vinegar or bleach in a small amount diluted and from that point on you should be ok.

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF331 opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock.
