Before using your washer, you must remove the four
shipping bolts from the back of the unit.
1. Loosen all the bolts with the supplied wrench.
2. Slide the bolt and spacer up and remove the bolt with
the spacer through the hole in the rear wall of your
washer. Repeat for each bolt.
3. Fill the holes with the supplied bolt hole covers.
4. Keep the shipping bolts and spacers for future use.

answer 2
Yes, these are the shipping bolts, and it's very important that they be removed prior to plugging in or turning on the washer. If you intend to lay the washer on its side during installation in order to attach a pedestal, for example, please keep the shipping bolts in place until the washer is upright. Laying the washer on its side, or tilting at a sharp angle, without the shipping bolts installed can result in damage to the drum or the suspension system.

answer 2
Quite possibly the black gunk is mold building around the seal. I am told that to prevent that from happening do not close the door completely. You want some air to get in and dry the water completely before you close the washer up tightly. To clean it I would suggest using some white vinegar or bleach in a small amount diluted and from that point on you should be ok.

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF331ANW opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible. Instructions to reverse the dryer door can be found in the User Manual, which can be downloaded from this website for your convenience.

Question

How do I get the clothes in washer to not be filled with water & how do I get the washer to run only for amount of time it shows initially?

Washer cycle is not working right. I have had washer 1 week & first x using. The cycles are off & not working the amount of time stated at beginning of cycle does not correlate to amount of time cycle takes. At end of cycle clothes are filled with water.

Use less detergent and only HE type. This machine uses minimal water and need less detergent than you might think, it tends to run longer to remove excess detergent or suds. Use the High Spin cycle to remove the excess water.

Thanks for the questions. The time that is displayed when you first select the wash cycle is based on pre-programmed estimates and may fluctuate to better indicate the time remaining in the cycle as actual conditions vary from those that the preprogrammed estimates are based on. Factors that can effect the difference between the estimated and actual cycle times include water pressure, water temperature, detergent, load size and weight. The amount of suds produced in a cycle can effect the number of rinses that are necessary as well as the ability of the washer to spin properly, for example. An unbalanced load will take longer to wash than a balanced one because the washer will make several attempts to reposition the load so it can spin efficiently and with minimal vibration. Any adjustments to temperature or soil level, or the addition of options such as Pre-Wash or Steam, will also effect the time estimates.

If your clothes are still very wet at the end of the cycle, it is possible the washer is either not draining sufficiently or is not leveled correctly. Please click on the following link to view a how-to video on leveling the washer: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...
This and other videos are available to help address such issues, ensuring the best performance of your washer. If this does not help to resolve the issue, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks for the question. First, I would suggest visiting the troubleshooting guide for assistance determining why your washer is not spinning thoroughly; click on the following link then select "Troubleshooting ► > Water Related ► > Clothes Are Very Wet At The End Of The Wash Cycle / Will Not Spin At High Speeds": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

There is also a way of running a Spin Only cycle on models that do not have it as an option on the selector knob. Press and hold the Spin button for about 3 seconds, until you hear a chime sound. The display should show how many minutes the Spin Only cycle will last. To adjust the time, press the Spin button to cycle through the preselected time options.

For more information, follow the above link to the Troubleshooting Guide, then select "Usage ► > Cycles, Settings, And Features ► > Cycle Type ► > "Spin Only" Cycle".

Thank you for the question. It is normal for the water to be difficult to see given the low water use of front load washers as well as the fact that Samsung's drum tilts toward the back. Because of this, there is likely more water in your washer than you realize. To determine whether your WF331 is filling with the appropriate amount of water, please click on the following link, then select "Troubleshooting ► Water Related ► There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

This is a manufacturer's defect. No matter what size load, or how many times you open the machine to redistribute the weight this machine seldom finishes the spin cycle successfully. My machine continued in the spin cycle for over 4 hours one day! How can it be energy star rated?
The only thing I've had any luck with is removing the clothes and wringing them out -then running a lower speed spin cycle first, then up it to high. Yes, you have to babysit this machine.

answer 2
I'm sorry to hear your washer has a stale smell. Odors are usually caused by bacteria introduced to the washer from the home's water supply, the dirty laundry, and other environmental factors. There are some basic maintenance procedures that can help prevent these odors from developing.

The WF331 is equipped with PureCycle, a pre-programmed cycle that helps to clean the drum inside and out, and should be used after every 40 loads, or approximately once a month. This cycle should not be used when there is laundry in the washer. For more information, please refer to the User Manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

Wiping down the door and gaskets and washing out the detergent drawer with warm water periodically can help, as well. It is also very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent to help prevent oversudsing which can lead to odor because the suds can leave residue on the drum which traps bacteria. Samsung also recommends cleaning the debris filter, which is accessible through the panel on the front of the washer. Instructions for cleaning the debris filter can also be found in the User Manual or by following this link to view a short how-to video: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

Your washer has tried to fill but was unsuccessful.

Make sure the water faucets are open all the way.
Check for kinked hoses.
Check the inlet screens on the fill hoses.
Check if the hot water supply hose is connected.
If you use a Flood Safety Device, then please
remove the device and connect the water hoses
directly to the unit.
You must connect the hot water supply hose
because hot water is supplied by the Auto
Temperature Control (A.T.C.) function if the
temperature of the cold water is lower than 59°F.

Thanks for the question. It's fine to wash tennis shoes in the WF331, though Samsung recommends adding a few towels, as well, to help prevent the tennis shoes from banging around or creating an imbalance. It's also a good idea to check the cleaning instructions for the tennis shoes themselves to make sure they are machine washable.

Samsung does not recommend mixing detergent forms due to the possibility of clumping. However, if you're going to do so, I would recommend using different compartments, such as the pre-wash and main compartment; one for powder and one for liquid. In addition to the fact that the bleach and fabric softener compartments are for liquid forms only, they also dispense at different times in the cycle, and the fabric softener does not dispense until the final rinse. Please also check the directions on the detergent packaging to ensure it is being dispensed according to the prescribed guidelines.
