Question

Fabric softener does dot drain

does water get added at some point to the softener tray so the siphion will work. I have to add water almost to the top, but sometimes when I shut the drawer it drains right away. Could it be a valve problem?

If the fabric softener remains in the dispenser at the end of the wash cycle, it is likely that either:
- the dispenser drawer is clogged;
- the water is not reaching the compartment with enough pressure to flush the softener out;
- the washer is not level.

Try removing the drawer and rinsing it thoroughly with warm water to remove all detergent residue. Next, place a carpenter's level on top of the washing machine, checking both front to back and side to side leveling. If the washer is leaning forward, it may prevent the drawer from draining properly. Adjust the leveling legs as necessary, running a test "spin only" cycle before tightening the leg locks to be sure all four feet are firmly planted on the floor to prevent vibration. Finally, clean the inlet water hose filter screens and make sure the water valves are turned back on all the way.

If the problem still persists, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further and schedule service if necessary.

Thanks for your question. If your WF328 does not have the accessible debris filter feature and you've received an "nd" error code, check the drain hose for bends or kinks that could be causing a clog and remove any clogs you're able to reach through the end of the hose that fits into the drain pipe. Try restarting the cycle; if the code returns, your washer will likely require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF328AAW opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible.

Question

Our laundry is smelling mildewy, and there are suds remaining after each wash. This has never happened in the 2 years that we've owned the washer.

We've already cleaned the filter and done 2 washes with bleach to see if that would help. It hasn't helped. It seems as though it is not rinsing properly or something. Please help.

I'm sorry to hear you're having these issues with your WF328AAW. First, let's try to determine whether you have the right amount of water filling the washer. Click on the link below then select "Troubleshooting ► Water Related ► There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...
This article includes troubleshooting tips for addressing a low-water level, and running the test "Rinse and Spin" cycle should help to remove any residual suds from the washer, as well.

The odor in your laundry is caused by bacteria that is introduced from the dirty laundry itself as well as from the water supply and other environmental factors, and can get trapped in soap residue on the outside of the drum and in the gaskets and dispenser. Besides the standard maintenance procedures recommended for most front load washers, which include running empty sanitize cycles with bleach, wiping down the gaskets and door between loads, cleaning the soap dispenser and debris filter regularly, and leaving the door open between loads, it is very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent.

In addition, the WF328AAW is equipped with SilverCare, an option that can be added to most cycles simply by pressing the SilverCare button at the start of the cycle. SilverCare can be used in any temperature water and is safe for colors and delicates. This feature releases silver ions which are highly effective in eliminating 99.99% of bacteria both from the clothes and from the washer. To treat the odor that has already developed, I would suggest cleaning your washer thoroughly by wiping it down with a bleach solution, then adding SilverCare to your regular laundry routine moving forward, adding it to at least two wash cycles per week.

I'm sorry to hear you have mold in the detergent dispenser of your WF328. Removing and cleaning the dispenser tray is part of the standard maintenance procedure recommended to help prevent mold from developing due to the bacteria that is introduced into the washer from the water supply and the dirty clothes. To remove the mold that's already developed and help prevent it in the future, I would suggest removing the drawer by pulling it out while pressing down on the plastic lever on the inside top of the drawer. Soak the drawer in warm soapy water, or use bleach if necessary to remove the mold, being careful to rinse it thoroughly afterward to remove any residual bleach.

Other recommended procedures for keeping the rest of the washer clean include running empty sanitize cycles with bleach, wiping down the gaskets and door between loads, leaving the door open between loads, and using only the recommended amount of HE detergent. The WF328 is also equipped with SilverCare, an option that can be added to most cycles simply by pressing the SilverCare button at the start of the cycle. SilverCare can be used in any temperature water and is safe for colors and delicates. This feature releases silver ions which are highly effective in eliminating 99.99% of bacteria.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your WF328AAW. If your washer has the debris filter access panel on the front of the washer, please follow the instructions in your user manual for draining the water then cleaning the filter. You can also click on this link to view a how-to video on the topic: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

If your WF328AAW does not have the front access panel, and you've checked the drain hose for clogs to no avail, your washer will likely require service. Please try cycling the power by unplugging the machine then replugging or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. Try running a Rinse and Spin cycle to drain the washer so you can open the door. If this does not resolve the issue, the door still won't open and the error code returns, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

I'm sorry to hear your WF328AAW sounds off balance. When installed, leveled and operating properly, your washer's Vibration Reduction Technology should help to significantly reduce noise and vibration, even at top spin speeds. I would suggest reviewing the leveling procedures in the following video: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

If your washer continues to vibrate and appear off balance after making any adjustments based on the advice in the video, it may require service. I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue with your WF328. It's not unusual for the NF error code to cause excessive wash times because it means that the washer has tried to fill with water but was unsuccessful. Please make sure the water faucets are open all the way, the inlet hoses are not bent or kinked, and the inlet hose screens are free of debris that could be obstructing water flow. It's also important that your water pressure is between 20 – 120 psi so the washer can fill in the appropriate amount of time. If the problem persists after checking these tips, your washer may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

Front Load Washer

I have a Samsung front load washer (WF328AAW) that I recently moved from one house to another. When I hooked it up @ it is giving me a code of nF which is some sort of water level. I do not have a manual to show me what this means. Has anybody else had this problem and how do you fix it?

The No Fill (nF) code indicates that your washer has tried to fill but was unsuccessful. Make sure the water faucets are open all the way and there are no bends or kinks to obstruct water flow, then check the inlet screens on the fill hoses for debris. If the code returns, your WF328 may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
