Question

What model dryers can be stacked on my WF218ANW washer?

I bought your WF218ANW washer almost 2 years ago. At the time, my current dryer was working well, so I did not purchase the matching Samsung dryer. I would now like to purchase a Samsung dryer that can be stacked on my Samsung washer. Can you tell me what dryer model number(s) I need?

Thank you for the question. Most Samsung dryers currently available can be stacked on top of the WF218ANW washer using the SK-5A stacking kit. Please refer to the SK-5A information on SamsungParts.com or call 800-627-4368 for a complete list of compatible models.

The WF218 requires power in order to unlock the door if it was locked when the power was lost. However, you can drain the water from the drum so the clothes are not soaking indefinitely by accessing the drain hose through the front panel. Be sure to have a large container available when draining the washer since it could have several gallons inside if it stopped mid-cycle.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Odor-causing bacteria that can lead to mold can be introduced to the washer from the home's water supply, the dirty laundry, and other environmental factors, so it is important to follow some basic maintenance procedures to help reduce or avoid mold and odors altogether.

The WF218 is equipped with an internal water heater, so I would suggest running a Sanitize cycle with bleach and no clothes at least once a month. Wiping down the door and gaskets and washing out the detergent drawer with warm water periodically can help as well. It is also very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent to help prevent oversudsing which can lead to odor because the suds can leave residue on the drum which traps bacteria. Samsung also recommends cleaning the debris filter, which is accessible through the panel on the front of the washer. Instructions can be found in the User Manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

Question

Why is my washer dancing across the floor during spin?

The washer was leveled during installation and ran smoothly for a long time without any movement. There have been absolutely no changes made to anything but suddenly every spin cycle causes the maching to move approx 8 to 10 inches out of position. Makes no difference when redisttribute load, use lighter loads. I have checked level, made some minor adjustments and it is dead on level across all planes. The machine is still moving during spin.

I'm sorry to hear your washer has started "dancing". Even when leveled properly upon installation, the legs can change position if they were not securely locked in position by turning the plastic leg locks. The washer may appear level, but if you're able to rock it at all when applying pressure to each side, then it will need to be readjusted. Please click on the following link to view a short how-to video on troubleshooting vibration: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

If this does not resolve the issue, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF218ANW opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible. Instructions to reverse the dryer door can be found in the User Manual, which can be downloaded from Samsung's website for your convenience.

The Sanitize Cycle helps to eliminate 99.9% of bacteria, including those that can cause odor. Please keep in mind that this cycle works using very high temperatures which are not appropriate for all fabrics. If your gym clothes are made of fabrics that should not be washed in hot water and/or bleach, you might want to consider another Samsung model that has SilverCare or ActivFresh. These are two names for the same thing - a feature that helps eliminate odors from both the clothes and the washer without using hot water and bleach. Current models to consider include the WF328, WF419 and WF448.

Thanks for considering Samsung!

The life expectancy of any appliance is difficult to predict, and there are many factors which can impact its longevity. What I can tell you is that the manufacturer's warranty on the WF218ANW includes the following:
- One year parts and labor
- Two years on the control board
- Three years on the stainless steel tub
- Five years on the motor.

More details about the warranty can be found on this website or on page 26 of the User Manual.

It's not unusual for there to be a brief pause after pressing the start button on the WF218ANW, during which time the weight sensor and other functions are activated. In addition, the buttons are designed intentionally to require a firm and purposeful touch in order to prevent accidental activation. With that in mind, if your Start button is unresponsive when pressed firmly and purposefully, your washer may require service. To initiate service, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Please see the following recommendations for storing your washer, as found on page 16 of the User Manual; the fourth bullet specifically addresses the question of freezing:

• Select the Quick Wash cycle and add bleach to the automatic dispenser. Run your Washer through the cycle without a load.
• Turn the water faucets off and disconnect the inlet hoses.
• Unplug your Washer from the electrical outlet and leave your Washer door open to let air circulate inside the tumbler.
• If your Washer has been stored in below–freezing temperatures, allow time for any leftover water in your Washer to thaw out before use.
