I don't believe so. The dryer door can be moved to the left or right side of the machine.. I have the same type of problem and if you can make the proper adjustments, put the washer on the left side of the dryer and switch the dryer door to open towards the right or in other words "away from the washer". When all else fails " Blame Your Builder "

Question

on the WELL

We are on a well system with the proper softener system. My QUESTION is Can I install an additional filter at the source of the washer.(the hose bib) I'm worried that I might restrict the water pressure and the washer wont fill properly.
Is the water censer based on time the solenoid is open or does it open and close on demand, based on actual water levels?

LUCKILY IT IS ALL DONE ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED THE WASHER DOES NOT JUST FILL ON PREDESIGNATED AMOUNTS BUT WHAT IS NEEDED PER WEIGHT AND SIZE OF LOAD. YOU SAY PROPER SOFTNER SYSTEM I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS BUT IF YOU JUST HAVE SOFT WATER CONGRADULATIONS YOU WILL HAVE CLEANER CLOTHS THAN MOST PEOPLE AS CLOTHES BEING WASHED IN SOFTER WATER WILL BE CLEAN AND MORE FULLY RINSED THEN WITH HARD WATER.

Thanks for the question. Water pressure should be between 20 and 120 psi for the WF218ANB to operate properly. If the pressure is too low, it could take a long time for the washer to fill, which could trigger the machine's safety mechanism which helps to prevent water damage from leaks, and shut off entirely. I would suggest consulting with a licensed plumber to determine whether the additional filter would cause the water pressure to drop below the minimum 20 psi.

YOU WOULD BE BETTER TO GET A HELPER AND EACH OF YOU PICK UP BOTH MACHINE AND PEDESTAL BY THE HANDLES LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF MACHINE. IF YOU MUST SLIDE HAVE A HELPER TILT FRONT OR SIDE OF MACHINE AND PLACE FURNITURE SLIDERS UNDER LEGS THEN DO THE OTHER SIDE THEN SLIDE AWAY. BE CAREFULL NOT TO GET YOUR FINGERS CAUGHT UNDER MACHINE WHILE INSTALLING SLIDERS AS SERIOUS INJURY WILL LIKELY RESULT. AFTER CAREFULLY MOVING TO NEW LOCATION, REMEBER TO RECHECK THE BALANCE AS IT MAY BE DIFFERENT IN NEW LOCATION. AND DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE THE SLIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sure, you can move the washer while it's attached to the pedestal, as long as you're careful not to compromise the water or drain connections, or turn it on it's side. It's very heavy and the rubber feet do not slide easily, so you may want to have a handtruck, or more than one person to help. Another option is to use furniture sliders to place under the feet, which usually make it easier to slide across the floor.

If the fabric softener remains in the dispenser at the end of the wash cycle, it is likely that either:
- the dispenser drawer is clogged;
- the washer is not level.

Try removing the drawer and rinsing it thoroughly with warm water to remove all detergent residue. To ensure your washer is leveled properly, please click on this link to view a short how-to video: http://support-us.samsung.com/spsn/...

If the problem still persists, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further and schedule service if necessary.

Your machine may not be level. Check it by placing a small level on the top of the washer between front corners and then do the same on each side. If it is not level adjust the screw feet on the bottom of the washer until it is level, There is a plastic lock that you have to loosen before you can adjust the feet (see manual)

Question

Water level in my WF218?

I am confused about the water level. My washer trickles water for a min than tumbles and continues this process for about 10 times. I cannot see water standing in washer it just seems to soak my clothes than tumbles them back and forth. Is this the proper procedure for how this washer works or should I be able to see water standing in washer with clothes?

Thank you for the question. It is normal for the water to be difficult to see given the low water use of front load washers as well as the fact that Samsung's drum tilts toward the back. Because of this, there is likely more water in your washer than you realize. To determine whether your WF218 is filling with the appropriate amount of water, please click on the following link, then select "Troubleshooting ► Water Related ► There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

This article also includes the troubleshooting tips for addressing a low-water level.

The WF218 and WF219 are very similar models. The difference is mainly in the design of the door handle: the WF218 has a pocket handle while the WF219's handle is metal, and extends out from the door slightly, similar to the WF328 model. Both the WF218 and WF219 are available in Neat White and Breakwater Blue; both have Samsung's signature Vibration Reduction Technology which significantly reduces noise and vibration, as well as an internal water heater for sanitizing, direct drive motor and stainless steel drum.

The 4.0 cubic foot capacity WF218ANB should be able to wash the equivalent of a king size comforter or 23 standard 24" x 44" bath towels. Many customers find that they're able to wash more in a front loader than in their previous top loader; however, with that said, you may want to try removing a few garments and see if this helps the situation.

Another likely cause of your washer not spinning well is that it is not balanced properly. Please follow this link for instructions on how to balance your washing machine: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If this does not resolve your issue, please feel free to contact 800-SAMSUNG for additional support.

Thank you for choosing Samsung! The 4.0 cubic foot WF218ANB can wash 23 standard size bath towels (24" x 44") at one time. While Samsung washers, including this model, have many wonderful features, I'm not aware of any machine that can guarantee colors will not fade over time, since color-fastness depends on many factors, including the fabric, dye, detergent, water temperature and exposure to sun and other elements.

Question

Can I make the washer add more water to clean better?

I wash cloth diapers and it is not getting them clean because it rolls them around in filth water. I have to do multiple washes and rinses and it still does not get them clean. I have even tried "tricking" the washer into adding more water by adding a few soaking wet towels to the load of diapers.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. The WF218, like other front loaders, is designed for low water use and there is no control enabling you to increase the amount of water for particular loads. Adding options like Extra Wash and Extra Rinse to a cycle like Heavy Duty is probably the best solution.

The appropriate setting for washing pillows really depends on what material the pillow is made from. I would suggest checking the fabric care instructions on the pillow for the manufacturer's recommendation, since a pillow made from a synthetic material like foam rubber would likely have a very different heat tolerance than a natural fiber.

Once you find the pillow manufacturer's instructions, you could refer to the Fabric Care and Cycle charts in the WF218 User Manual for additional guidance. In addition, Samsung recommends adding a few towels to the load when washing items like pillows in order to prevent the load from becoming unbalanced.

There are a few possible causes of having water remaining in the detergent drawer (which includes the fabric softener compartment) after a wash, the most common of which is that the washer is not properly leveled. If the washer is leaning forward a bit, the compartments may not be able to drain sufficiently. Please click on the following link, then select "Operation" > "Water Is Left In The Detergent Drawer" for help troubleshooting this and other possible causes: http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. Since odor-causing bacteria is introduced to the washer from the home's water supply, the dirty laundry, and other environmental factors, rather than from the washer itself, it may be necessary to clean the filter more frequently in some areas. The WF218 is equipped with an internal water heater, so I would suggest running a Sanitize cycle with bleach and no clothes at least once a month. Wiping down the door and gaskets and washing out the detergent drawer with warm water periodically can help as well. It is also very important to use only the recommended amount of HE detergent to help prevent oversudsing which can lead to odor because the suds can leave residue on the drum which traps bacteria. Though it may appear that the filter is the source of the odor, keep in mind that it is actually just a receptable for what's passing through from other parts of the machine, so a wholistic approach to fighting the odor-causing bacteria is important.

Thank you for the question. The code "Sd" indicates that too much suds has been detected during the wash cycle. The washer is put on hold until the suds are reduced, then the normal operation should resume. When the cycle is finished, End and
Sd codes should blink in turn. To help prevent this code from occurring, be sure to use only HE detergent. If you currently use HE detergent, then you may need to reduce the amount.

Question

Can I use ammonia in my washer?

I read in a tip from Heloise that to remove sour odors from towels & washcloths that it can be removed with ammonia. She says to use 1 to 2 cups ammonia (depending on size of washer), no detergent needed. Rince twice. I read this in Goodhousekeeping, January 2011 issue. Page 32. I really want to do this but don't dare until I know it is safe for my washer. She didn't indicate a regular or He washer. Thank you so much!

While ammonia alone should not damage the washer, it is important to note that chlorine bleach, ammonia, or acids (such as vinegar or rust remover) in combination could form hazardous fumes. For this reason, it's important to make sure that there is no residual bleach in the detergent drawer or lines before using ammonia, and after the ammonia is used, be sure it is rinsed thoroughly before using bleach.
