Question

Using ammonia in washer

I've used ammonia as a cleaning aid in my former top-loaders for many years for certain types of laundry. Can I do this with my new front loader? If so, how do I add the ammonia (in the detergent dispenser, directly in the drum, etc.)? Thanks.

Personally, I wouldn't take the risk of the ammonia hurting something in the machine.
HE detergents are recommended, and that and Clorox would be all I would use.
Why run the risk of damage, when there are other usable products out there?
My opinion of course. ;-)

I have not even had to use spray and wash or shout on my clothes since I have this FANTASTIC WASHER CLOTHES COME OUT MUCH MORE CLEANER than on the older machines. I would NOT use the ammonia. Check with your manual. if you use non-chlorine bleaach you add it in with your liquid detergent.

I cannot speak to the appropriateness - or the best method - of adding substances like ammonia to the washing machine that are not intended for that purpose. I would suggest consulting the ammonia bottle instructions for laundry use directions, if available. Please keep in mind that Samsung recommends using only HE detergent products that are intended for use with high-efficiency front loaders in our machines.

Like most front load washers, the door on the WF210 opens from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible.

Question

why are my clothes not getting clean?

I have had this machine for almost two months now. I got it because EVERYONE is telling me how much they LOVE their new he washing machine. frankly, I am disappointed. ok, it is quiet, and
but that is the only good thing about it! we do not have small children and do not have any other
reason for our clothes to be especially dirty, but none of them even seem to come out clean! I have used Tide, All, Gain and even a store brand generic...tried using more, using less...nothing
makes a difference. after just a few washes my whites are now gray...with or without bleach.
washing a gray sheet and adding bleach in the dispenser left a white streak where it appeared the
bleach poured directed down the sheet. can you give me any suggestions how to make it work like it is supposed to?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. You mentioned trying several different brands of detergent, but you didn't mention whether they were specifically HE detergent. It is very important to use HE detergent, and only a small amount of it, for the washer to clean properly. Using non-HE, or even too much HE, can cause clothes to look gray and dingy, as you describe.

Regarding the bleach dispenser, their should be a siphoning cup in your dispenser which prevents the bleach from reaching the drum until it is flushed through with water allowing it to become diluted. In order for this to work, however, it is important to fill it no higher than the "max" line in dispenser cup. Overfilling the dispenser will cause the bleach to run into the wash without being diluted.

I hope this helps resolve the situation for you.

How long is the drain hose on the WF210 and can it be extended or replaced?

If it can be replaced, what is the diameter? If it can be extended, is there a part number for the extension and how long is the extension? I need to run the hose to just the other side of the matching dryer (if they are positioned with the washer to the left and the dryer to the right.

The drain hose that comes factory installed on your washer is approximately 6' long, and can be extended by purchasing another section of hose, then attaching it to the original hose by clamping them together with a steel sleeve. These parts can be purchased at most hardware or home improvement stores.

Please keep in mind that Samsung recommends a vertical discharge of no more than nine feet, with a maximum of thirteen feet in any direction, based on the pump's capability.

Question

Trouble starting Help?

My wf210 is less than two weeks old. I have ran it a total of 3 full cycles. Each time I initially try to start it, the door locks, it spins a few times (no water comes in), stops, then the selected control panel lights blink for about 10 minutes before it finally tells me 'nd' for not being able to drain.

I followed the first troubleshooting directions the first time (turning the power off and on, selecting rinse/spin, turning it on for a few minutes, stopping it, changing it to regular cycle and then starting it again) which worked.

The second time the same thing happened so I tried cleaning the filter (which had nothing in it) and this did not help make it start. Cleaning the filter is the next suggestion for troubleshooting so I thought it might help but it did not make a difference. After it would not start and said 'nd' again, I repeated the first troubleshooting directions and it worked again.

The third time I had to do the same troubleshooting steps (AGAIN!) before it would work.

My questions are: Should I have to do this every time? Shouldn't I be able to load my clothes, turn the power on, select my load, press start and have it just start? Why am I having to run the rinse/spin drain method every time? Am I missing something?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. It should not be necessary to repeat the troubleshooting procedures each time you run a load of laundry. The fact that the machine is able to drain but continues to give you the ND (No Drain) error code could be an indication that there is a small clog in the drain. If possible, check the drain for clogs or obstructions, and make sure the drain hose is inserted properly with no bends or kinks in the hose. If the problem persists, your unit may require service. To initiate service through Samsung, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

You should remove the four shipping bolts from the back of your WF210 once it's in its final location, but before you run it for the first time. If you plan to mount it on a WE357A7W pedestal, it's best to do that first before removing the bolts since you'll need to lay it on its side to attach the pedestal.

answer 2
The dimensions of the WF210 and DV210 when stacked are approximately 27" wide by 77" high by 35-1/4" deep, due to the dryer overhanging the washer by several inches in the back. When stacked, the DV210AEW dryer can be vented out the left or right side using the DV-1A side vent kit, or out the back which is the factory default set-up. The direction of the venting will impact the amount of clearance you'll need in each direction, but following are the basic requirements as provided in the user manual for alcove or closet installation:

• Minimum clearances between the Dryer and adjacent walls or other surfaces are: 2” in front, 17” on top, 1” on either side, and 2.375” in the back.
• The closet front must have two unobstructed air openings for a combined minimum total area of 72 in² with 3” minimum clearance on the top and bottom. A louvered door with equivalent space clearance is acceptable.

For more information, please refer to the user manuals which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website. Samsung recommends having the electrical connections and side venting conversion kit, if applicable, installed by qualified technicians.

Thanks for the question. It's normal to have some knocking (or "slapping") noise at the start of the cycle, which should (and does appear to in your case) decrease significantly as the spin speed increases and the Vibration Reduction Technology takes effect. As the drum slows down at the end of the spin cycle, the imbalance may once again be more evident. These noises can be minimized with proper leveling.
