Great question! While the WF209 has been available since 2009, the WF210 has just recently been introduced. Because of this, the WF210 includes a new feature, PureCycle, which was not available last year.

PureCycle is a new cycle which will help keep the wash drum smelling fresh without the use of additives like bleach or cleaning tablets. Samsung recommends running this cycle once each month.

Besides the addition of PureCycle to the WF210, these models are very similar. Both are 4.0 cubic foot capacity, and have Vibration Reduction Technology, direct drive motors, stainless drums, LED displays; maximum spin speeds of over 1000 RPM (1050 for the WF209, 1100 for the WF210), and both are available only in Neat White.

Ms. Samsung's answer is INCORRECT.
Based on that and the specs for the WF209, I purchased the WF210. It arrived today and does not have the Pure Cycle--this is included on the WF220.

Not sure why Samsung doesn't post the specs on this site, but the WF210 cycles are: Normal, Heavy, Perm Press, Delicates, Quick Wash, Rinse/Spin and "My Cycle" that remembers your settings. The WF220 substitutes Pure Cycle for My Cycle and adds Sanitize and Wool too.

Ms. Samsung, the Pure Cycle that "removes mold that may occur inside the washing machine" sounds like a good idea. Since it turns out that my machine doesn't have it, is there a way to accomplish the same thing?

Thanks!

answer 3
You are correct! The new WF210 does not have the internal water heater that is necessary to the Pure Cycle feature, and the WF209 does not have a water heater either.

To clean the drum and keep mold and mildew at bay in both of these models, I would suggest running a hot water cycle with bleach (without clothes) once per month. It will also be helpful to leave the door open between loads to keep fresh air circulating, and to wipe down the door and gasket with bleach periodically.

Thank you!

Question

Will it use more water if I choose extra wash or rinse?

Does the washer use 12.8 gallon water per wash cycle no matter heavy weight and light weight? That's too little water per cycle. It barely wet the clothes when using heavy load. How could it wash a king size comforter. That little water cannot even wet the comforter.

Samsung's washing machines have an automatic weight sensor which adjusts the amount of water used per cycle between 13-15 gallons. If you select Extra Wash or Extra Rinse, more water is used than if these options are not selected, but it may still fall within the 13-15 gallon range depending on what the weight sensor detects.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. There are several possible causes of your fabric softener dispenser tray not draining, including low water pressure, improper leveling of the machine, and a clogged fabric softener dispenser or line.

Following is a link to the FAQ page on this website containing tips for correcting these issues: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...

If, after checking each of these, you continue to experience this issue, your WF209ANW may require service. Please contact 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

WHEN IN DOUBT USE AN ELECTRONIC INFRARED TEMPERATURE GUN INSIDE DRUM WHEN FULL OF ADDED WATER (USE PAUSE BUTTON TO UNLOCK DOOR)THSI WILL GIVE YOU EXACT TEMPERATURE.

Thanks for the question. Since the WF209ANW does not have a water temperature sensor or internal water heater, the temperature of the water entering the machine depends entirely on the temperature of the water being supplied to the machine. It's similar to the experience of turning on the hot water in the sink, and having it take a little time to heat up.

How much water are you supposed to see?

How much water are you supposed to see during a wash? My clothes get wet but there is absolutely no water sloshing around. I can't believe that with this little water they are acutally getting clean? I know they are supposed to use less water, but this seems extreme.

Thanks for the question. Samsung washing machines, the WF209 included, use approximately 13-15 gallons of water per cycle. It is not unusual to not see water sloshing around because the drum tilts toward the back. The baffles in the washer help to rotate clothing from front to back, which helps to move them through the deeper water toward the back of the drum.

Like most front-loaders, the doors on Samsung washing machines are hinged on the left to swing open from right to left and cannot be reversed to open from left to right because of the location of the door lock. The dryer doors, however, are reversible.

The padlock icon indicates that the door is locked. The door can be unlocked to add a forgotten item even after the cycle has started by pressing the "Pause" button and waiting for the Garment+ (shirt) icon to flash and the door lock (padlock) icon to turn off. Press "Start" to resume the cycle after adding the item and closing the door. It should take approximately 10 seconds for the cycle to resume. To ensure thorough cleaning, Samsung recommends adding items within five minutes of starting the wash cycle.

Thanks for your question. There are several possible causes for your washer not spinning all of the water out of your clothes. The most common cause is the washer not being properly leveled. Even if it was leveled when first installed, if the leveling legs were not locked in place, they may have loosened over time. I would suggest using a carpenter's level to check both front-to-back and side-to-side leveling, and making the necessary adjustments to the legs, then locking them in place by tightening the plastic leg-locks.

The following link offers tips on proper leveling, as well as some other suggestions; click here, then select "Operation", then "Clothes Are Very Wet At The End Of The Wash Cycle": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

If none of these factors are the cause, then this page also has a link to an online service request form, for your convenience.

Thank you for the question. It is normal for the water to be difficult to see given the low water use of front load washers as well as the fact that Samsung's drum tilts toward the back. Because of this, there is likely more water in your washer than you realize. To determine whether your WF209 is filling with the appropriate amount of water, please click on the following link, then select "Troubleshooting ► Water Related ► There is No Water Or Not Enough Water": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

Question

Shipping Bolt Caps

The person who delivered and installed our washer had no clue about removing shipping bolts. We removed them later after the washer flew around the room like a flying saucer. It says in the manual to cover the holes with caps included in the accessory bag. We could not identify the caps. Not one of six installers we spoke to on the phone knew to describe the caps. What do they look like, and what do we do if we did not receive them?

Samsung recommends using only HE detergents. If the OxyClean product has instructions suitable for HE/frontloading washers, then I would suggest using as recommended.

Thanks for the question,

Thank you for the question. Please refer to pages 16-17 of the WF209 User Manual for advice on cleaning the washing machine. You may also want to run a cycle about once a month with bleach and hot water to help keep the drum clean and mildew-free. Leaving the door open when not in use will allow fresh air to circulate which will help prevent mold and mildew as well.

Odor is caused by bacteria which can be introduced to your laundry in any number of ways, including through the water supply or from the unwashed laundry. When the bacteria is not effectively removed, it can cause odor.

Samsung recommends cleaning the washer on a regular basis (such as monthly) to help keep the drum fresh smelling and free of odor-causing bacteria. Please refer to page 16 of your User Manual for information on cleaning the washer. Many people find that running a hot cycle with bleach (and no clothes) and leaving the door open between loads can help. It is also important to use only HE detergent to help avoid issues, including odor, that can result from the soap residue.

Finally, if your towels' fabric care instructions allow, I would suggest washing them in hot water with bleach (regular or color-safe, depending on your towels) to help remove odor-causing bacteria.

Thank you,
