Questions & Answers for samsung WA5451ANW/XAA

Question

Samsung wa5451anwxaa02 washer fills acceptably 8 out of 10 times.

I get the no fill NF alert during the wash. it fills, starts a cycle and then halfway will not refill. No water changes in the lines/no water use elsewhere in the house. My only option is to restart and then the same thing happens. I have just taken out three towels soaking wet to see if I can get it to spin. Is this an example of what I should expect or should I contact the retailer?

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. If the washer is not filling properly, please make sure the water valves are turned on all the way and connected correctly to the hot and cold inlets; and check the inlet hose screens for debris. It's also important that your home's water pressure be sufficient at 20-116 psi. If the 'no fill' error persists, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Online support form: http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o...

It's also worth noting that the washer's inability to spin may have other causes. If the towels are soaking wet, this would indicate a possible problem with draining. Troubleshooting tips for this can be found by clicking on the link below then selecting "Troubleshooting ► > Water Related ► > Washer Doesn't Drain or Doesn't Spin At All": http://support-us.samsung.com/cyber...

Question

Is it safe to wash rags used with general household cleaning products (e.g., wood polish, glass & surface cleaners) in this washer?

I am considering purchase of top-loader. I use as many 'green' cleaning products as possible, and all are ammonia-free, but some do contain oils or creams (not necessarily identified on the label in detail.) I wash these now in my old top-loader..are there any special cautions with the new washers?

Question

Is the rubber end of the discharge hose only supposed to be inserted about 1.5 inches into the discharge pipe in the wall?

The discharge hoses on my previous washers did not have the rubber nozzle on the end. I have never had a problem before inserting the discharge hoses several inches, which has always been recommended, into my discharge pipe in my wall. The rubber nozzle on the end of the discharge hose is too large and I am only able to insert it about 1.5 inches into the hole for my discharge pipe. Is this a common issue - or an issue at all? Should I cut off the rubber end so that the the hose can be pushed further down the discharge pipe?

Thanks for the question. The standpipe should be large enough to accept the outside diameter of the drain hose without making an airtight connection, and without having to cut off part of the factory-installed hose. The hose should be inserted in the standpipe about 6-8" but no more. Please refer to page 13 and 15 of the user manual for installation information.

Thanks for the question. Different models use different patterns for the indicator lights on the display. If your washer appears to be functioning properly and washing your clothes based on the settings you've selected, then the light sequences you're seeing are likely normal. If an error occurs, you should be alerted by a code displayed in the window, rather than by the lights flashing.

Samsung recommends using only HE detergent and fabric softener formulations in our high efficiency washers. HE formulations produce less suds and rinse cleaner, which is important given the low water use of HE machines. Using non-HE formulations can lead to error codes, difficulty draining and spinning, and dingy-looking clothing.

Please refer to the fabric care instructions on the cover to determine whether it is machine washable and what cycle should be used. The WA5451 is large enough for a king size comforter, so I would imaging a dog bed cover should fit.

Based on current technology, the internal water heater in the WA5451 is activated during the Sanitize and Pure Cycle settings only. If the temperature sensors in the washer detect that the water entering the washer is not hot enough, the washer will attempt to regulate the water temperature by opening the hot water valve for a longer period of time. However, the internal heater is not designed to compensate if the incoming water from the hot water valve is actually cold. To ensure the water entering the machine is the correct temperature, some people choose to run a nearby faucet until the water coming through is hot.

The range for warm water wash cycles is from 85°F - 105°F, and may vary depending on the supplied water temperatures. Please try cleaning the inlet hose screens on the back of the washer, then make sure both the hot and cold supply valves are turned on all the way, the hoses are not kinked, and your home's water heater is set to about 120°F. If you find the water temperature is still too hot, please submit your contact information to our support team through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

The WA5451 does not have an agitator, so the motion you see is driven by the pulsator at the bottom of the wash drum and the motion of the drum itself.

Question

What is Samsungs policy on developing rust

Overall I am pleased with my Samsung top loading washer. However, I am somewhat alarmed with some rust that is developing under the bleach dispenser. I noticed a few small rust spots in the dispenser itself, and upon further investigation I found it to be originating from the lip under the blue dispenser cover. My washer is less than a year old and I feel this is unacceptable, as it will only get worse and possibly ruin clothes as rust could be deposited on my laundry when using the dispenser. Please advise as to Samsungs solution to my issue. Picture included. Thanks Bill

Question

Dispenser drawer will not come out

I saw a previous question on this problem and followed the directions on page 27 of the User Manual, but I cannot remove the dispenser drawer to clean it out. I pull it out all the way, but when I tilt it up it won't budge. I'm afraid that if I tilt it up too much something will break--its only plastic.

Question

How would a customer know that the serial number is not located where your photo shows it?

The serial number for this washer is located on THE BACK of the machine, NOT where your diagram photo shows it to be. Husband tried a mirror, but eventually pulled the machine out into the room and leaned in with a flashlight over the stationary tub and counter--really handy location. You might want to correct the information on your register this product site for this washing machine.

I don't think you need a photo or a video of this particular operation! :) It was awkward, but he did get the job done!

Question

Any changes to hose from tub to drain pump?

If the drum goes out of balance, the machine continues to add water to try to balance the load. Due to the hose being too short, eventually the hose pulls off the drum drain tube and the machine floods continually until you shut it off.
