Question

Is there a manual reset or unlock for the top door?

I have a service request in, but top door is locked and will not unlock or reset, so that I could get the wet clothes out while waiting for a repair person, to fix the spin problem - as it has not drained or spun and is "stuck" - I have plugged and unplugged it several times - and for a day now.

I have come to the conclusion that the Samsung was a bad purchase. The amount to water is not enough to really wash well. Samsung continues to say it works fine and it does not. If I had it to do over, I would never purchase this washer. I have talked to several other people and one maintenance person that also feel this way.
I love my Samsung tv and based on that made this mistake of thinking they would build a great washer.

Question

What is considered active wear when washing clothes?

There is a wash cycle for active wear, and I would like to know where I find the description of the different types of clothing for each cycle. Bedding is definitely not sheets, I have to wash my sheets on perm press, so somewhere there has to be a description and I don't see it in the user's guide.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We recommend you refer to the Cycle Selector on page 19 of your user manual. It says:

Active Wear (WA456*) - Use this cycle to wash exercise wear such as sports jerseys, training pants, shirts/tops and other performance clothing. This cycle provides effective soil removal with gentle action for special fabric care.

Question

AquaJet Question?

We have the WA456 Stainless. We have sucessfully used the Aquajet feature on medium to small loads. The manual suggests that the AquaJet feature will work on "YOUR BIGGEST LOADS", however, when we try to use the AquaJet on Heavy Duty and 3/4 full (as the manual suggests is the maximum) when the wash gets to the AquaJet cycle the drum simply spins the load fast and AquaJet never actually works.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is 3/4 to big for the centrifuge effect to make the Aquajet work?

I ask because Samsung does not have the answer and simply wants to replace the board in my one week old washer.

If "Biggest Load", which is subjective, is really medium load then the washer is fine. I simply need to know if it will work on 3/4 full.

Otherwise, everything else with the washer is perfect.

I think the load size depends more on the density of the clothes so yeah - medium may be the biggest it can handle. T shirts and shorts vs, hoodies and jeans may be the reason. It's pretty smart and senses everything. I 'm still learning it but so far so good for me.

Hello,

I have figured out the issue.

In the Manual Under the Header:

"Washing Clothes Using the Cycle Selector", the instructions walk the user all the way down to bullet point number 7. The bullet point states:

"7. At this time, you can control the wash temperature, the number of rinse cycles, the spinning speed, and the delay time by pressing the appropriate option button."

However, the manual does not state that due to the "Fuzzy Contol" logic that changing the spinning speed will affect the use of the "AquaJet Feature".

The manual states at different times that spinning at high speeds and overloading can cause wear (not saying we ever loaded more than 3/4..just trying to play it safe) we lowered the spin to Medium.

When lowering to medium on Heavy Duty, this somehow changes the Fuzzy Logic. Thefore, the spin is not enough to create the AquaJet when the change was made. We tested the same load of clothing again by simply selecting Heavy Duty without changing any selections and the Aquajet worked.

Samsung...please not that changing spin speed from factory settings may produce the non function of the AquaJet Feature do to load weight and spin speed in the Fuzzy Logic.

I believe the only settings that can be made are water temp and soil when the dial is selected for each individual setting.

Hope this helps others who may have experienced this issue.

Just like loading the washer figures out water level, the washer also figures out math that causes the AquaJet to work as well. I guess the washer is to smart for our own good. (Smiles)

Question

I feel without the aggitator the clothes do not get as clean, what can I do?

I feel as though all the machine does is spin around with the clothes in it just tangling up the clothes. I am not satisfied with this new washer and it's abilities. Can I return it?

It's a shame that the tub doesn't go one way, stop and go another way to make the washing seem as though it is better for the clothes and cleaning more thoroughly.

Actually your clothes get more clean, the agitator in conventional washing machines are notorious for tangling up clothes and making them bunch up thus not allowing the water to penetrate the dirt. You should only fill the drum about 3/4 full, without an agitator it is tempting to fill the drum all the way. Some other factors to consider are your detergent and the wash/rinse cycle. You should only use HE detegents, if you have laundry with mud or other visible dirt try using a boost agent, Oxyclean or Tide boost to name a few. One last tip is to use warm or cold water to wash, hot water sets the dirt in more rapidly, uses more energy and doesnt allow the detergent to penetrate the clothes evenly. I hope this helped.

You are absolutely correct. Instead of washing the clothes it just kind of tangles them. I have so many stained and dingy clothing since I bought this machine it makes me sick.
I think the only solution is to complain to Samsung and if that doesn't do any good sell it at a garage sale and buy one that actually cleans your clothing. This machine is a big waste of (lots of) money!

My machine does go both directions. If you watch closely you will notice that it is pushing the clothes up from the center and pulling them back down. The diamond tub reminds me of an old wash board that gently scrubs the clothing.
