If it will run, you can. However, if they are heavy mats, the thing won't run. It only washes tiny loads. Horrible machine.

Question

when pressing the pause button should I always get a 'CL' code?

I'm not sure the washer is working correctly, the water never covers the clothing and does it aggitate at the same 'very slow ' speed on all settings? I'm so not sure if everythings okay with the washer.
And on the pause/start button, it automatically gives me that code and I have to hit the power button and start over again.
