Finish beginning to yellow

The white finish on my washing machine is yellowing around the bleach tray. I don't know what caused it or how to clean it.

If you pull on the tray it will come out (note they may then claim you voided warranty) but if it is like mine it will be eaten up with rust which may appear around the top edge as a yellowing or discoloration. I have had no success getting any response for waranty repair since mine is just over a year old and they called this normal wear and tear without even seeing it.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. This is likely from the bleach or other chemicals you've placed in that tray. You may have spilled or otherwise splatter some trace amounts, and while the chemicals generally whiten clothing, its interaction with other materials may be something like what you see.

According to our home appliance specialist, if you're mixing it with powder detergent, you can put it in the detergent drawer. (You just have to remember to take out the liquid detergent insert). If you're not mixing it with powder detergent, you can pour it into the washer tub before adding clothes.
