Question

File not currently supported (Smart Hub / All Shares)

I have my Smart TV on a local wi-fi, and have previously viewed Photos (.jpg) from a local computer (PC) using Smart Hub / All Shares - Play / My List. A number of the photos I have viewed are shown there. Now when I try to view this MyPhotos folder, I get the message "The file you have selected is not currently supported." What does that mean, and how do I fix it?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. The jpg format is a supported format. However, if you're recently reorganized your files on your PC, it's possible that the TV didn't pull the more recent directory. The most straightforward way of fixing this is to complete a factory reset on your system.

Question

Since you did the last upgrade to my 60 inch smart TV and then the Samsung apps, I no longer get voice when I log into Nexflicks.

I can get it on my laptop and it works fine so it must be related to the new upgrades. The regular TV sound works fine.

Flickering screen

my TV seems to flicker in the middle of the screen, not all the time and not only when I am watching cable. I turned on the self test and it flickers too. I have turned off all the eco friendly settings and the auto adjust settings.

I took a video of it....

Question

Will Samsung repair or replace an LCD tv with only 1 dead pixel if its only been a month since the purchase date.

I purchased my Samsung UN60ES6100F on March 10th 2013 and I already have a dead pixel on the screen. I know 1 out of billions of pixels shouldn't be a problem but if the tv is having this problem after only a month what will happen in a year when the warranty runs out.

Question

Request cannot be completed. MEDIA PLAY will return to the main screen

I don't understand this. If I go to Source, I find my Laptop and options to connect and view my Videos, Photos and Music. However I can't connect to my Laptop to view these said Items..I keep getting the "Request cannot be completed. MEDIA PLAY will return to the main screen" error message. Can someone tell me why? isn't this a feature that should allow you to network your Home Devices? Am I doing something wrong?

Why is my brand new samsung 6100 led tv picture brightening or dimming while we watch it.

The conditions in the room are not changing, but the tv will dim and then darken back up. We have had the tv on the wall for two weeks.

I experienced the same issue. As you probably know, the TV has a feature that is supposed to vary the screen back-light as room conditions change. However, the TV seems to be pretty sensitive. In my case I thought the change was from one of several sources 1) somebody getting up and walking in front of the TV 2) small room with TV's own light reflecting off opposing wall 3) overhead ceiling fan causes changes in light levels across room ceiling. A technician told me that the TV doesn't use a typical light sensor diode to detect and make adjustments and that the "feature" has been known to not work so well in some environments. It was recommended to me to turn it off, which can be done through the set up menu. Sadly, you would think if you paid for such a feature it would work better. I have turned this feature off.

Audio with Smart TV Apps

Purchased a new Samsung 60 inch TV with Smart TV. I am running through a Yamaha Receiver. However, when I use a Smart App, Pandora or YouTube, the sound will only come through the TV speakers. Is there a way to bring these apps back to the receiver? Would I just use an output, Digital or analog audio out on the TV to an input on the receiver? Is there a recommended way? Thanks

Question

Power On Issue

I have both a Verizon Fios Cable Box and Wireless Router, as well as a Samsung BlueRay player plugged into my TV. All four devices are plugged into a single power strip, which is plugged into the wall outlet. Ever since we bought this TV we have had problems with getting it to power on. Most times we have to cycle the power button several times before the Samsung Smart TV logo comes up which is a precursor to us being able to see a picture. Usually on the first attempt to turn on the TV we will receive audio from the channel it is tuned to, but no picture. This occurs several times as we turn off and back on the TV until the Samsung logo pops up. I don't think it is the HDMI cable, as I have checked it with other devices in the house. I have been able to rule out a signal issue on the picture side of the feed, but I do know that I get audio. Any help on how I might fix this annoying power on problem would be appreciated.

Update - I tried plugging the TV directly into the wall without any success. I have since had a technician come out and verify the problem. This is apparently a very odd problem not seen by the technician before, however, it is a problem. They are going to systematically replace several components including the power supply and main board until the problem is solved. The parts showed up a couple of weeks ago and my followup appointment is this week. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
