Try shutting off the SWL (Samsung Wireless Link) in Network settings. Tried this as a last resort after resetting the TV and router several times. Solved the problem.

I have this same problem. I do not use WPA key or any security key. I use MAC filtering and only allow what I say to allow...kids. Of course I have added the TV and once powered down the next day you have to walk through the steps of connecting all over again. It's very annoying. I was thinking maybe tommorrow as a test I'd try manually entering in all configuartion info and see if that clears it up if "Auto" is having some sort of problem. Best I can tell is it's not retaining what network to connect to every startup. In windows we have the option to "Automatically connect to this network" and I do not see anything like that.

The TV should connect to the wireless router each time you turn the TV on. If it does not, then you need to do some more troubleshooting. Try setting up your wireless connection again. Check the following: Did you set up the wireless connection initially using WPS or One Foot Connection or manually? Do you have your router set to broadcast its SSID? Did you set up a wireless encryption protocol that is compatible with your router and your TV? If so, did you use a passcode that is using characters that are compatible with the type of encryption you are using? When you say "each time it is turned off" are you referring to the TV or to the network modem and/or router? I would leave the network powered if you have not been doing so. Did you set your router to use MAC address filtering? If so, did you put the MAC address of the TV into the list of allowed MAC address in the router?

If you turn off the internal speakers the only way to control the external source volume with the remote is to set the Anynet receiver to "ON". Go to setup and scroll down until you see Anynet options.

On my UN60D8000 there is an option to output the TV audio via the internal TV speakers or via an external set of speakers connected to an audio output on the back of the TV. On your qwerty remote press Menu, then select Sound, then select Speaker Settings, then select Speaker Select. Then change the setting to either TV Speaker or External Speaker depending on which set of speakers you want to use. I noticed that when I had the setting on External Speaker that the TV volume button on the remote did not have any effect on the TV volume and the volume bar would not show up on the bottom of the screen like it does in TV Speaker mode.

There are 2 settings in the UN60D8000 menu that may be causing your TV to turn off by itself. Both of them are viewed by pressing Menu on your remote, then System, then Eco Solution. One setting is labeled Auto Power Off. The TV will automatically turn off if you don't press a button on the remote or press a button on the TV's front panel within 4 hours to prevent overheating. The other setting is labeled No Signal Power Off. To avoid unnecessary energy consumption, you can set how long you want the TV to remain on if it's not receiving a signal. Try changing either or both of these settings to see if that fixes your problem with the TV turning off.

Yes. HDMI Input #2 on the back of the UN60D8000 supports the Audio Return Channel (ARC). On Page 11 of the Owner's Manual it states "The ARC function allows digital audio to output via the HDMI IN 2 (ARC) port. It can be enabled only when the TV is connected to an audio receiver that supports the ARC function."

Yes, you can connect a PC to the UN60D8000 in any of three ways: 1. A regular D-sub video cable to the D-sub PC input on the TV 2. Using an HDMI cable between your PC and the TV, if your PC has an HDMI output. 3. Via an HDMI to DVI cable if your PC has a DVI output. The TV supports many different resolutions, such as 1024x768, 1280x1024, and an "optimal resolution" of 1920x1080. This is all according to the connection instructions in my UN60D8000 User Manual.

Unable to stream video due to constant buffering

When I try to watch Netflix or the 3D video app, the TV constantly buffers. Then I get the message "Playback has stopped because of faster internet connection is required". I am 100% confident that it is not my wireless Internet Connection or speed (30Mb downstream) related as I am able to Stream Netflix to my XBOX perfectly. Why is this happening and how do I avoid it? Question

How can I improve connection to my home wifi?

My TV is separated from my wireless router by a wall and maybe 50 ft. Netflix constantly loses its connection during streaming movie playback. As this doesn't happen on my laptop, I suspect the problem results from poor connection quality to my home wifi. Can I improve this without laying wire or moving my router or tv? Maybe a USB antenna for the tv?

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

Based on our research, there was a firmware update released for this TV on April 2, 2012. If you have not already applied this update, we recommend you do so. Please refer to the following article for additional info on this process.

Question

Can I edit (manually add and/or remove) channels in the channel list?

I have auto programmed cable channels on my TV. I now want to remove some of the channels from the list. Is there any way to perform the removal?

I have searched the product manual, the Samsung Support Website, and have not found the information I am seeking.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. Please follow these instructions:

SMART HUB > Channel > ENTER

Select the Edit Mode icon on the upper right of your screen, and then press the ENTER button. In Edit Mode, you can delete a channel from the channel list:

1. Select the Edit Mode icon on the upper right of your screen, and then press the ENTERE button.

2. Select Delete at the bottom of your screen, and then press ENTER. A pop-up appears asking if you want to delete the item.

3. Press the l / r / u / d buttons to select a channel, and then press ENTER. A check appears to the left of the channel.

Note: You can select more than one channel, and pressing ENTER again deselects the channel.

My UN60D8000 is a VESA 400. I measured the distance between the mounting holes horizontally and vertically and they were both the same at just over 15.5 inches. That converts to 400mm, which is VESA 400.
