Picture "jumps" occasionally no matter what the source.
No matter what the source (though most notable using my Samsung Blu Ray disc player and/or with any HD content) I find that the picture freezes for a fraction of a second and then jumps forward. Or, perhaps just jumps ahead a frame or two. This occurs every 15 to 20 seconds and can be quite annoying. I find many reports of this problem throughout the net but see no explanation or solutions. Please advise.

Question
I have a Samsung model UN60D7000VF LED 240Hz TV, however when I press "Info" on the controller it tells me that my screen is set at 1920X1080i @ 60Hz.
How do I get it to be set at 240Hz?? I'm getting ready to return it to the store as the refresh rate appears slow. I use DirecTV HD and th signal strength is very strong and all my cables are for HD. I am using HDMI Monster cable from receiver to TV. Can you help? Thnx.

That is because the channel you are watching is broadcasting in that spectrum of i instead of p. it will not say 240hz. I have premium high speed HMI cables and mine says the same thing. It's not an issue..

The best way to test it is to hook it up to a BD player that has a movie format of 1080P. You'll see a huge clarity and difference. 1080P @ 240HZ only means that you're TV is capable of supporting. It doesn't mean that every feed is converted to 1080P.

Although the speaker system on the Samsung TVs offers rich and clear audio quality, I can understand the desire to have a higher fidelity audio experience. To do so, I would recommend that you acquire an A/V receiver or SoundBar, since there is no physical way to connect just speakers to the TV (unless the speakers offer an onboard sound driver) and no way to control their volume from the TV itself (since the TV’s audio output is Fixed and not variable). To connect the TV to the receiver, please use either RCA cables, 3.5mm jack to RCA or optical cables to connect from the TV's audio outputs to the receiver's audio inputs.
Have you explored the sound settings? press the menu button on your remote and select sound. If you turn on the "tru surround" setting and adjust the EQ you can make the factory speakers sound much better. If you are still unhappy with the sound you will need to get a soundbar or surround sound system.

Question
How to change from PCM to Dolby Digital Sound
I noticed that the sound setup on my 60" LED TV outputs PCM to my theater system resulting in no surround sound to it. When I tried to change it using the TV remote, the Dolby Digital selection was greyed out and I could not choose it as an option. I have the fiber optic chord connected between the TV and receiver. Should I change this and place the chord between the receiver and my cable box?

When the TV is receiving a coaxial signal, the TV will have the ability to send 5.1 CH sound to the home theater receiver through the Optical output. However, when the source is a digital component connected to the TV via HDMI, only 2 CH audio will be output from all of the TV’s audio output. If you want to hear 5.1 CH audio, please connect the digital audio out jack from your device directly to an amplifier or home theater.

Reset your picture settings to start. I noticed when I first turned on the TV it was bright, and then it would dim automatically. As a default, mine had the auto-dimming feature ON. If you turn off this energy-saving feature it should remain at a constant setting (whatever you adjust it to). If you choose to use the "eco" setting, make sure the room sensor (front panel area) is not blocked by any objects. The darker the room (or blockage), the darker the screen will be to save energy.

This TV is a fully capable 240Hz set and offers the Auto Motion Plus feature that enhances said 240Hz image. This set will always upscale your 60Hz signal to 240Hz, regardless of any settings you may have active. However, in order to receive the full 240Hz benefit (judder and blur reduction, and frame interpolation), you will need to have Auto Motion Plus active. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. Coincidentally, the Samsung TVs can only accept a 60Hz signal.
Please follow the directions below to pair your remote with the TV. If you continue to have an issue, please contact Samsung Service directly at 800-SAMSUNG:
Step 1: Place Batteries in remote. On the QWERTY Side, the screen should say “Needs Pairing”, if it doesn’t say this, then on the IR side press Mute then 0 then Mute then 0. Step 2: Hold remote 2 inches away from the TV on the left hand side. Step 3: Hold Sym and Tab together until pairing is complete (The TV will say QWERTY remote paired with the TV).

I have tried to pair my QWERTY remote with the TV and have had no luck. I also cannot pair my 3d glasses. I have been doing some reading and it seems that the bluetooth module could be bad in the TV. I found one article on samsungs support website that if you use a phone and scan for Bluetooth devices it should see the TV if not the Bluetooth module is more than likely bad.

Although the Samsung TVs offer a variety of calibration options (Brightness, Color, Tint, ETC. ), unfortunately Samsung cannot suggest any specific calibration numbers since every calibration has to be done based on the preferences of the customer performing the low level calibration. Perhaps other users on this forum may be able to better help you out.

Without knowing what specific Directv receiver/dvr you have here are a few to connect. Easiest way would be HDMI out of the Directv rcvr to HDMI in on the TV. That would give you best pic, include audio, and keep cables to a minimum. If your receiver is an older one without HDMI, it should have component out and/or composite out. For the component, you would connect component out on the Directtv box to component in on the TV. You'd also need to connect audio (using an rca cable - red/white) from the directtv box to the audio in on the TV. Some Samsung TV's also come with an adapter that allow this connection. Another way would be to use the composite out on the directv rcvr and regular composite cables (red/white/yellow rca type connectors).
