Question

Smart interaction issues

My smart interaction is very spotty. Sometimes I have to try either voice or motion for several minutes before it comes on. I also have issues with powering on the TV using voice (saying = "Hi TV power on"). Is there a planned update, or do I have to recalibrate the TV.

I have had similar experiences as well. From my experience a recalibration might help a little, but I don't think it will do much good. We all have to remember that this technology is essentialy in it's "beta" period, so the it will be buggy at first. Samsung has already released several Firmware upgrades to help with the issues and I'm confident that they will continue releasing more upgrades until the system works perfectly

No video that I know of. You might find something on You Tube. I installed mine laying screen side down on my bed. It will take two people. there should be two packages of screws. One with 4 one with 2. The 4 screws go on the outside of the stand. the package with 2 are for the center. Get all the screws started first. then tighten them starting in the center, moving to the outside ones. Hope this helps.

Restoring to factory settings does not change the firmware. This is true for all Samsung TVs. The only thing that can change the firmware is a higher numbered version firmware.

If you go to your Menu on the TV then go to Support and then Self Diagnosis, there is a Reset option that will reset the TV back to factory settings, which should include firmware.

Hi,
Unfortunately no! But as per Samsung TV, new Smart TV will have the possibility to be upgraded by the Samsung’s Smart Evolution Kit. I hope that might push some memory.

But you still have the option to put an USB key and put your photo, video and music to watch, listen or view them.

I hope that help

Question

TV restarting issue

I bought a un55es8000 and the TV seems to restart on its own. I had exchanged it at bestbuy and it seemed to do the same thing. I noticed it happened either when I was using applications such as hulu or netflix, and also during prolonged TV watching. I believe there is a background process causing this to happen. I had read other reviews from users on amazon and other sites and they are reporting a similar issue. Is there a planned update for this?

Question

USB keyboard doesn't work with some apps.

Hi,
I attached a wireless USB keyboard (with trackpad) to my 55ES8000. It works for some apps but not all. For example, for youtube, only the arrow keys work but none of the other keys. I still have to use virtual keyboard that comes with youtube app (by using arrow keys) to enter my search string. Same thing with netflix App and some of the other apps. Why does each app present they own keyboard app. Why isn't this all integrated so that there is a single keyboard/mouse functionality? Would this be any different if I use samsung smart keyboard/mouse i.e KBD1000/1500?

This is a very big downer for me. I was very excited to use all the nice apps/browser. Hope this can be corrected in the future firmware updates. Thanks.

Thank you for your question. I asked our product specialist to see if this is a limitation of the TV or Smart Hub or the app itself. So the good news is that you won't need any firmware updates to get the full functionality, since the TV and Smart Hub already use the keyboard functionality. However, each app developer needs to add in the keyboards functions as well. So hopefully, you'll be seeing updates from the app developers (Netflix, YouTube, etc.) in the future.

Question

Ghosting and Jitter on all network related video

Recently my set has started experiencing picture Ghosting and Jitter on anything network related such as watching video from Allshare, Netflix, Hulu, Vudu and so on. When watching normal air HD TV its smooth with no issues at all. This didn't always happen so I am leading to believe that it was the previous firmware update issue. The latest firmware update from Aug 24th did not fix the issue, is anyone else experiencing this?
