Please follow the directions below to pair your remote with the TV. If you continue to have an issue, please contact Samsung Service directly at 800-SAMSUNG:

Step 1: Place Batteries in remote. On the QWERTY Side, the screen should say “Needs Pairing”, if it
doesn’t say this, then on the IR side press Mute then 0 then Mute then 0.
Step 2: Hold remote 2 inches away from the TV on the left hand side.
Step 3: Hold Sym and Tab together until pairing is complete (The TV will say QWERTY remote paired
with the TV).

I had a similar problem pairing both the remote and the 3d glasses. My problem turned out to be my wireless network. I had to turn of my wireless router before the tv would pair to the remote & glasses. Once everything paired up I turned my router back on and so far everything has been running fine. Hope this helps.

In order to access content from a USB device, first connect the device to the USB port on the TV. Then set the device to Mass Storage mode. If the device is compatible with the TV, it should allow for media playback. The device in question must meet all of the following requirements:

1. It must offer a Mass Storage Mode
2. It must be formatted in a FAT file system
3. It must not contain any DRM content. DRM content is not supported by the Samsung TVs

Please refer to your device’s manual for more information on connecting it to another device.

Question

How to Pair 3D glasses?

SAMSUNG SSG-3100GB 3D Glasses will not pair with SAMSUNG LED 55D6900. After pressing the on/off button on the glasses, the light on glasses flashes green - red for almost a minute before shutting off and no sync occurs. Tried two pairs of glasses that came with the '3D starter kit' and neither worked. I have tried brand new batteries in the glasses, I have followed all instructions that came with glasses, plus I even tried to find some info on the internet, and nothing will work.

Thank you.

HOW DO I GET MY QWERTY REMOTE TO SEE DIRECTV SATELLITE CHANNELS

I have tried everything the e-manual suggests when trying to auto load channels and it does not work. When I press the channel button, it says "not available". I have tried every option under air and cable including choosing both and the tv does not see any channels. I am with satellite TV but there is no option for that.

Although a universal remote would be much easier to set up in this fashion, the Remote that comes with the TV can only be used with the TV itself. The Samsung TV's remote is not a multi-device universal remote. If you have Samsung devices that offer Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) connectivity, then you may be able to use your one TV remote to control said devices without having to program anything.

Additionally, if you have the TV connected to a set top box, the TV will not have control over the channel changing or the channels that are being processed by the set top box. this means that you will need to change the channel with your set top box's remote and not the TV's remote since the TV cannot aggregate channel information from a set top box or satellite signal.

Question

UN55D6900: What is different on HMDI Input 1 that makes it DVI compatible?

After testing with a pc using a DVI to HDMI adapter on both "HDMI/DVI 1" and "HDMI 3" inputs, it seems like there is no difference in using the non-DVI at 1920x1080 and 1680x1050 resolutions (I see no difference in image quality). This is important because my cable set-top box does not have an HDMI output (only a DVI), so I want to connect 2 DVI devices by using 2 HDMI to DVI adapters, while only "HDMI 1" is listed as DVI compatible.

It seems like the only reason HDMI Input 1 is designated as DVI, is that it is the only HDMI input that will allow audio to be input through a the separate 1/8" input jack on the TV. Note that devices being connected to the TV using DVI outputs will need separate audio cables since unlike HDMI, the audio cannot be transmitted over the same cable. So when HDMI 1 is selected as the Source, the TV audio can come either from the 1/8" input jack on the TV or through the HDMI cable connected to HDMI 1 (if connected to a true HDMI output, i.e., not a DVI output).

If two or more DVI devices are being connected with DVI to HDMI adapters the only issue is the audio. If a seperate sound system is being used, then a direct connection of the audio is required for any attached components not using HDMI Input 1. Using a direct connection to the separate sound system may be the prefered method since it is the only way 5.1 sound is available for these components. Note that according to the manual the TVs optical output will only output 5.1 sound for DTV (stations tuned directly by the TV), all other audio (through HDMI, etc.) will be ouput throught the optical audio connector in 2-channel stereo.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

There is not a way to manually update a single app. When an update for that app is available, it will either be addressed via a firmware or Smart Hub update. We recommend you update your TV's firmware, as the most recent version was released on 3/16/2013.
