I’m sorry for the confusion. At this time, none of the 2011 Samsung Smart TVs will offer the Amazon VoD service. Since each application is developed by the company that will be supplying the content to the application, Samsung does not have any information or timelines as to when the said application will become available.

Although a universal remote would be much easier to set up in this fashion, the Remote that comes with the TV can only be used with the TV itself. The Samsung TV's remote is not a multi-device universal remote. If you have Samsung devices that offer Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) connectivity, then you may be able to use your one TV remote to control said devices without having to program anything.

The D6500 is a 2011 model year TV built sometime in the year 2011. The way you can tell that this is a 2011 model is by the "D" in the model number. the "D" means the TV is a 2011 model. In comparison, "C" in the model number (like the UN55C6900) means the TV is a 2010 model year TV. All of the current apps on the app market are designed to function on the "D" model TVs with out an issue.

To edit the names on the source list, you will first want to enter the source list by pressing the "Source" button on your remote control. Then using the directional pad, highlight the source you want to edit, then press the "tools" button on the remote. A pop-up menu will appear which will allow you to edit the dame of the source by selecting "Edit Name".

From the available information, this unit will not offer the Web Browser. The Browser will only be available on the D6300 and the D6900 and higher LED TVs and the D8000 Plasma TV. Unfortunately, I currently do not have any information on Samsung Apps or Smart TV features being added to the 2010 and earlier models that do not offer previously mentioned features.

Question

How to access a 2.5 TB remote Hard Drive

I have had a 1.5 TB HD attached to this TV for a year now, it works great. I just increased the size to 2.5 TB and the TV says it cannot access any file names. The files are there , most of them were simply transferred from the 1.5 TB drive to this new 2.5 TB drive. I tested the drive extensively on my PC and all works as it should but like I said for some reason the TV cannot access it. The files are formatted in FAT32. Is there a SW or Firm Ware limitation on the TV ?

To adjust the colors of your picture, you will have two options: if available, adjust the “Tint” option in the “Picture” submenu in the TV’s menu and “White Balance” in the Advance Settings options within the “Picture” submenu.

In order to access Captioning, you will want to head into the TV's menu, then into the setup or system sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. The CC information cannot be sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from 3rd party devices. That said, most service provider set top boxes and DVD/BD players will handle CC on board, which will then be displayed on the TV as part of the video signal. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability. If Captions are appearing on your TV, and the TV's captioning option is grayed out in the menu, then its more then likely that the captions are being handled by one of your other devices that are connected to the TV.

This unit does actually have a 1-tuner PiP system. PiP 1-tuner systems only allow for one cable connection to be shown at a time on the screen. In order to connect it up, you will need a hard line going into the TV (cable coax) and an active secondary connection (HDMI, component, PC). To activate it up, either head into the TV's menu or click the Tools button on the remote control.

Again, you will need both a coax connection and a secondary input connection in order to properly activate and view PiP on your set. If your option is grayed out, this means that one of the required connections is not active and connected properly.
