I believe the CC button on the remote only works for rabbit ear antenna broadcasts! I'm not kidding.

Great question! One answer might be, if you have a cable connection, to disable CC in the cable menu.
There's a detailed procedure describing how to do that in another post that I answered.
p.s. I'm still trying waiting for an answer to my question of how to get CC to work from a VCR player.

Great question! The answer is not easy. If you have a Cable Box input, the CC can be disabled in the
Cable service menu. As far as using the TV remote to toggle CC, you need to ask a very high level Samsung expert. Good luck!

I recently hooked up the internet on this tv and was having this same issue. I was using the wireless LAN adapter. Initially, I launched Netflix and began to stream a movie and received the blackouts every 10 seconds. I closed the app and upgraded the TV's firmware (Ver.1026.0 rel. 01/03/2012). Upon launching Netflix again, Netflix was also upgraded to a new version. I have a dual band router so I also switched the WLAN connection from 2.4ghz to 5. The blackouts no longer appear. If you have the option to hard wire the LAN connection, performance may improve as well.

From the available information, the blinking you are seeing is actually the Netflix application readjusting the resolution as your connection speed changes. Unfortunately, since this is caused by Netflix's own app, I currently do not have any information as to when this feature may be removed from the app.

Due to some manufacturers using different codes for their IR remotes, Samsung does not offer universal codes or support for these remotes. In order to find out your remote’s code for our Samsung TVs, it is best that you contact your remotes manufacturer for further details.

Question

Can this model be mounted on the wall. I was reading a review which said it cannot since samsung does not make a wall mount for a 55" tv.

I am ready to purchase this tv, but need to be able to mount on wall. The review said it does not meet VESA specs per manual and should only be mounted using samsung mounting kit. It went on to say a mounting kit was not available.

Question

TV will not accept Security Key for wireless connection.

I get to Wireless (General) it finds our Network name, I hit enter and it asks for Security key. I enter our Security Key word, it looks for the connection, dosen't find it and pops up with a box that says I should unplug/plug the wireless modem and try again. After 3 or 4 attempts still nothing but what it does is disconnect the Wireless unit (D-Link DIR 615) and I have to unplug the power, wait a bit and plug it back in and that brings the Wireless unit back up. I know the TV's Wireless connection attempt disconnects the Wireless unit because a Laptop, 20 feet away stops working and the Wireless connection to that has never been a problem.

Do you have a WPA encrypted password? for some reason, WPA doesn't seem to like 2 devices being logged in at once. I recommend changing your wireless encryption to a WEP - that worked for me!

Closed Captioning must be enabled by the Cable Box. Here's how. Turn on the TV. Shut off the Cable Box with the Cable Remote. Now here's the tricky part, press Menu on the Cable Remote, yes it will work despite the fact the Cable Box was shut off previously! The Cable Setup menu will appear on the TV screen. The rest is intuitive. I won't bore you with the details.

Question

Can the Samsung [Model UN55D6050] 50" LED/ LCD be wall mounted

Some reviews state that it does not meet VERSA standards, some say you need to buy screws at a hardware store. This is replacing a wall mounted set, and I cannot buy it if it cannot be wall mounted.

To connect the TV to the receiver, please use either RCA cables, 3.5mm jack to RCA or optical cables to connect from the TV's audio outputs to the receiver's audio inputs. After connection, head into the TV's menu, then to the Sound sub-menu and select "Speaker Select" to turn the TV's speakers off.
