If you browse through the different video settings while watching a show or movie you will instantly see the difference of selecting "Movie" vs "Normal" and the same goes for the Audio selections. I watch lots of movies so I selected "Movie" for both my video and audio settings and found I prefer them. If I can't hear the dialogue very well in a movie or show, I change the audio setting to "Clear Voice." Once you play around you probably find the setting that works best for you most of the time.

Although the Samsung TVs offer a variety of calibration options (Brightness, Color, Tint, ETC. ), unfortunately Samsung cannot suggest any specific calibration numbers since every calibration has to be done based on the preferences of the customer performing the low level calibration.

I had this same issue when the TV channels were connected via a coax cable. I removed the coax from the TV and connect the cable box to the TV with an HDMI cable. The picture is now excellent and the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen are gone.

Screen resolution with Component Video input

My DirecTV receiver will be connected to the UN55D6000SF via Component cables, not HDMI. What level of quality will I get from the picture? If not 1080P, 3 wire component video (with 2 wire audio) will display 720x480 just set the component settings to 16:9 output. Resolution is still very good.

There are three ways to connect your PC or Mac to your Samsung TV for monitor functionality: monitor cable, HDMI to HDMI or HDMI to VGA/DVI/Displayport. Please note, in the PC's operating system, you will need to set the display settings to either clone or extended view and set the PC’s resolution to match that of the maximum resolution of the TV in order to view your PC's desktop on the TV.

Although all of these connections are easy to hook up, the PC monitor cable is the most common. To connect it this way, just use a standard PC monitor cable to connect from the monitor out of your PC to the PC input on the TV. Some adjustments to the PC's resolution is required.

If your PC offer HDMI out, I would highly suggest using this connection, since it is a basic plug-n-play connection (meaning almost no adjustment is needed on the TV or PC).

HDMI to VGA/DVI/Displayport is almost the same as straight HDMI, but in this case, you will want to connect the DVI end of the cable to the PC (if available) and the HDMI into the TV. This is also considered a plug-n-play connection.

Unless otherwise specified by your PC manufacturer, you will need to connect the PC's audio to the TV with a separate cable (3.5mm jack cable from the PC’s audio output to the TV’s DVI/HDMI Audio input), since most PCs do not support audio over HDMI, VGA or DVI.

Additionally, the Samsung TVs do not offer wireless or networked monitor capabilities.

For saved media streaming, the TV offers AllShare. AllShare allows you to stream saved content from a DLNA device like a PC or Cell Phone directly to the TV.
For more information on how to share content between your TV and PC, using PC Share Manager/AllShare and how to download/configure this feature, please navigate to the links below:

I've found that using a wireless router will allow connection to your PC wirelessly. This is only to allow access to files on computer to view (pics, vids, music) and will not be a monitor for your PC. That will have to be direct wired.

It depends if your remote is the factory remote. If so I think you need to reset the TV because it's the digital device receiving the communication and not following instruction. If your remove is 3rd party you're out of luck with me as that can be numerous problems. Also, sounds silly but make sure your batteries have enough juice to power the remote, it used to happen to me with my satellite universal remote.

Question

How do I set up PIP directly from my Dish Network Satellite box?

I have two coax TV outputs on my satellite box from Dish Network. I only have one coax cable input on the back of my Model UN55D6050TFXZA. How do I directly connect my second coax output from my Dish Network satellite box to the TV to use the PIP feature? Is there an adapter to connect the second Dish box coax output to an HDMI or USB connection? Or do I put both coax outputs into a splitter and connect it to the TV?

This unit does actually have a 1-tuner PiP system. PiP 1-tuner systems only allow for one cable connection to be shown at a time on the screen. In order to connect it up, you will need a hard line going into the TV (cable coax) and an active secondary connection (HDMI, component, PC). To activate it up, either head into the TV's menu or click the Tools button on the remote control.

Again, you will need both a coax connection and a secondary input connection in order to properly activate and view PiP on your set. If your option is grayed out, this means that one of the required connections is not active and connected properly.

The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. Coincidentally, the Samsung TVs can only accept a 60Hz signal.

Unfortunately, the Samsung TV remotes are single device controllers, meaning that they will only be able to directly control the TV. That said, if your devices offer Anynet+, you can indirectly control them through the TV itself. Anynet+ is a function that operates through HDMI jacks and lets you control up to twelve Samsung devices with your Samsung TV remote, with up to three of those devices being of the same type (for example, three DVD players). You can only use Anynet+ with Samsung devices that have the Anynet+ feature.

Additionally, the C6050 is a Warehouse Club Exclusive, so many of these models may still not be updated on the website. That said, keep checking back on Samsung.com for updates on this model.
