I found the problem. The source was in the Direct TV settings. Captions were turned off but subtitles were set to on. The problem was corrected by turning subtitles off.

Since the HDMI connection does not support captions on the Samsung TVs, I would have to assume that the device you have connected to the TV via HDMI is sending the captions out as part of your video signal. I would suggest checking your secondary device's menu options and check to see if captions is turned off (please refer to that device's manual for more details).

No. You need the Samsung Lan Adapter. It is a "driverless" lan adapter. Most lan adapters require the installation of a lan adapter driver. Since this isn't practical on a TV, Samsung created their own lan adapter.

Currently, the only wireless adapter that can be used with the appropriate Samsung TVs is the Samsung Linkstick WIS09ABGN. The reason for this is that all other usb wireless adapters require drivers to work. Since there is no feasible way to transfer and save hundreds of different drivers for each adapter on the TVs, Samsung created a USB wireless adapter that will work 100% of the time (plug-n-play), with out drivers.
The only web cam that will work with your TV is the Skype Freetalk 7180. All you do with that camera is plug in the USB and you are ready to go. Here is the link to Skype's webpage for that webcam, just copy and paste it into a blank web browser page.
I have been able to connect my new TV to my wired internet connection for my home network. It has been able to download YouTube videos, use Yahoo, etc. However, when trying to connect to Netflix, the TV just gets stuck on the "Connecting" phase. I have not been able to even get to the point where I get the authentication code to activate it on the Netflix website. Is there something wrong on the TVs end?

while watching the TV, it reverts to store demo mode. this has been increasing in frequency, as has the tendency for the TV to randomly disconnect from the blu-ray player.

To exit Demo Mode, please follow the instructions at the link below:
Although the speaker system on the Samsung TVs offers rich and clear audio quality, I can understand the desire to have a higher fidelity audio experience. To do so, I would recommend that you acquire an A/V receiver, since there is no physical way to connect just speakers to the TV (unless the speakers offer an onboard sound driver) and no way to control their volume from the TV itself (since the TV’s audio output is Fixed and not variable). To connect the TV to the receiver, please use either RCA cables, 3.5mm jack to RCA or optical cables to connect from the TV's audio outputs to the receiver's audio inputs.
Turn off "soap opera" or "home video" appearance when watching 2D regular TV.
Bought a new U55C7100WF yesterday. Entire family dislikes the weird "home video" (aka."soap opera") look while watching regular 2D television. Tell me how to switch it off but not affect the 3D (which works great).

You might try turning the AutoMotion Plus feature to "Smooth" or "Off" to see if this helps. In some cases, and depending on your preference, the additional picture processing can give the symptom you described above.
It should not affect the 3D viewing, but if you notice a difference, you can always turn the setting back on when watching 3D movies.
My tv was a store Demo, I shut off Store demo, but it is still thinking it is a store demo and I believe my settings keep resetting as a result. How can I fix. Also their was not a LAN adapter cable in my packaging. I was hoping I could get one shipped to me

While in the application itself, press the "Tools" button on the remote control to enter that specific application's picture and sound settings if the application's developer has allowed for those features to be adjusted.
It is connected to the internet; use the apps and would like to browse sites. Is there an equivalent of a browser where I can type the URL. Thanks.

Although all internet content is aggregated through the Samsung Apps feature, current 2010 Samsung "C" models will not have access to a traditional web browser.
It connects to the Internet, but does not allow the programs to download

First, make sure your wireless router is configured correctly to allow connection. Next, make sure you have the router SSID and security key handy. Are you using a BluRay disc player to plug your donlge into? Works better that way and the TV USB port is not used. Once you log onto the router through the BluRay you should get several questions about the router setup and enter your SSID and security key. The player will then confirm you are connected and you should be able to see some apps from Samsung (provided you have the Samsung TV app account already - if not, go to your PC and set up an account before you can log in from the BluRay). Good luck - should take no more than 4-5 minutes to successfully log in a nd get running.

The primary difference lies in where you buy the television. Sam's Club, Costco, and BJ's all carry the 7100. Best Buy, Ultimate Electronics, etc carry the 7000. On the 7100, it comes with two pair of Rechargeable blue tooth 3D glasses. On the 7000 model, two pairs of battery operated glasses. That's it.

This TV is a fully capable 240Hz set and offers the Auto Motion Plus feature that enhances said 240Hz image. This set will always upscale your 60Hz signal to 240Hz, regardless of any settings you may have active. However, in order to receive the full 240Hz benefit (judder and blur reduction, and frame interpolation), you will need to have Auto Motion Plus active. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. Coincidentally, the Samsung TVs can only accept a 60Hz signal.
