Question

How do I get NETFLIX to start on my 46C8000XFXZA?

I'm logged in to my internet account on my TV. I want to start NETFLIX and get an activation code to enter through NETFLIX's computer on-line activation process. I have a NETFLIX account. My problem is that the NETFLIX button is not responding...it will not start and thus I'm not able to get the code for my device. All of the other apps on the page will respond.

I believe the last update fixed this issue. I was having a similar issue... I had the netflix app, could open it and sign in, but it didnt give me the option to activate it. All I could do is sign in and put dvds in my cue list. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or not, but after the last Samsung firmware update, I was able to activate it and can now stream my stuff. Hope this helps!!!

Included with your TV you should have an Ethernet adaptor.
On one side you will notice a standard Ethernet connection while at the other end you will have a flat connector, that side plugs in the back of your TV,

As a matter of fact, this device does have closed captioning. In order to access it, you can head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. CC, as far as I know, is not sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from your service providers set top boxes. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability.

If you're referring to the "heightened detail look" similar to, say, hi-def, handheld programs (where everything is super crisp and almost 3D in appearance---not what you really want on a movie!)---try going into the Setup > General Menu option, and turning Game Mode ON. It is turned off by default---I put in Lord Of The Rings BluRay once I set up the TV, and it was so "real" and vivid and crisp, it was kinda hard to watch... looked like the Spanish telenovela soap operas! It was like you were standing next to the cameraman, and were bypassing all the 'visual editing' the film makers put in the theatrical release!

From my point of view, if you have a IEEE 802-11n router, it would be better to connect internet to you BD player as it has the same internet apps.

Down side of not hooking you TV to the internet is the firmware update. You then will have to download the firmware update to a usb key, and plug the key in the TV usb port so it can be updated.

If you mean to stream content from Mac to Samsung over your network, best of luck... Samsung doesn't provide a download for Mac, as they do for PC. There are other 3rd-party DLNA apps out there for Mac; I've put one on my Macbook, and am able to stream my photographs, but very, very little of my iTunes content (songs/videos.)
If you mean hookup for using the Samsung as a monitor, depending on your Mac, you will likely need an adaptor; I have a "mini display port" on my Macbook; I bought a mini display port-to-HDMI adapter/dongle, and then could simply hook an HDMI cable into that, and one of the 4 HDMI inputs on the Samsung.

You need to activate the account by accessing Netflix through your tv and the NetFlix Application. Load the Netflix Application, enter you Netflix LogIn and Password. You will then be directed to a page which will allow you to activate your tv to your Netflix Account. You will be provided with an activation code and a website address for the Netflix. Write down the activation code. Get onto to your computer and log on to the NetFlix provided website using your Netflix Login. You will then be directed to a page which will allow you to enter the activation code which will activate your device and complete the process. Enjoy!

Question

3d issues

I have had my tv for about six months now and I am still having distinct ghosting issues when using 3d. This issue exists when watching 3d blu-rays, playing 3d games on my ps3, and when watching 3d movies via my cable box. From researching I have pretty much learned this is an issue with this model not a defect. What I want to know is when I can expect to see a fix. I have been a loyal supporter of samsung for awhile but it is very disappointing to buy a 3d tv that has a flaw that makes it pretty much useless for that function when other manufacturers 3d led tvs do not seem to suffer from this problem. I have given you six months, where is the fix? Don't disappoint a loyal consumer.

This TV is a fully capable 240Hz set and offers the Auto Motion Plus feature that enhances said 240Hz image. This set will always upscale your 60Hz signal to 240Hz, regardless of any settings you may have active. However, in order to receive the full 240Hz benefit (judder and blur reduction, and frame interpolation), you will need to have Auto Motion Plus active. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the info box is because the info box only displays the signal’s actual Hz and screen resolution and not the info of the picture on the screen after the TV processes it. Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Currently there is no way to display the screen’s Hz in the info box. Coincidentally, the Samsung TVs can only accept a 60Hz signal.
