Questions & Answers for samsung 46" Class 8000 Series 3D 1080p LED HDTV

Question

Trouble with HDMI conections and UN46C8000XFXZA

From onee day to other, after 6 months of proper working, our LED TV started to don't recognize any HDMI device conected to them...a message apears that says to check conections, power and others, so
I tried in all the HDMI (1,2,3,4) conectors without success.
I tested our HDMI Devices (DVD, BD, SAT) in other HDMI TV with the same HDMI cables and they work properly, so we discard the problems related with the devices and cables.
So we update the software to thier latest version and there is not any improvement on the problem.
May you help me with this?...
Thanks in advance,

The good news is that with the firmware upgrade made available in November 2010 you can disable both the samsung light in the front as well as the little song that plays on power up/down. Previous to the firmware upgrade the menu option did not exist. Tech support confirmed this and told even told me that the light is always on be design so that you know the unit is power on. I said that the 46 inch screen is a pretty good indicator along with the red blinking light in the lower right hand corner. Anyway, with the firmware upgrade everything is good - no more light and no more song. Thanks for adding this. This is a great TV.

NO!
I read these other posts saying it can be turned off and after not being able to find the menu option I called tech support. They said it could not be turned off. It is a very bright light and I now have a piece of card board taped over it - VERY attractive.

Although I, nor Samsung, cannot recommend one manufacturer's product over another, you will need an HDMI HighSpeed (1.4) cable in order to view 3D from your 3D BD player. Please contact you local retailer for more information on this product. You can also check Samsungparts.com for HDMI cables.

To have internet access on your TV set, you will need a Samsung Link stick that plug into USB 1.

But you can still have access to the internet using the Samsung 3d Blu-Ray C6900. The C6900 and the TV have both the same apps.

The C6900 dosent share the internet connection though, so, for firmware update on the TV you will need to download it on a computer, put it on a usb key...

Not well at all: We (in NY state) & our son (in Sydney AU) have Skyped for years PC to PC, for as long (1 hour+) as we wanted. He got the 46" 8000 3d tv with Samsung's camera just this summer. We NEVER stay connected reliably now. There are constant video freezes, video drops, call drops. Sometimes we can stay connected for only 10 seconds before it crashes - AGAIN & AGAIN. He says has has no controls in the Skype interface - either ON or OFF. While Skype PC to PC is wonderful, the TV version is nothing but a bother.

Skype created a little piece of software that makes communicating with people around the world easy and fun. With Skype you can say hello or share a laugh with anyone, anywhere. And if both of you are on Skype, it’s free. In order to use Skype, you will need a compatible Internet@TV capable Samsung TV (LED C7000, C8000), an internet connection and the optional Skype video webcam. Question

PS3 3d games

I have a Samsung 3d tv and downloaded the recently released PS3 3D games. I have the HDMI cable going from the PS3 straight to the tv. This same HDMI cable (1.3) worked fine for the blue ray 3d movie that came with the TV bundle (Monster vs. Aliens). When I put the movie the TV goes automatically to 3d.

In the case of the games this does not happen.

Can anyone help me?

Same answer i gave in an other post, if it dosent work for you, not sure what problem you might have

I had similar problem with motorstorm 3d,. But Avatar 3d works fine just need to manally put the tv in 3d side by side mode.

As for the motorstorm problem i solved it by going to the menu where you select the screen size ( sorry i dont remember the name of that menu ). With the latest patch, the ps3 now ID our tv as 3D enabled.

Should work fine after that, The PS3 set the tv in 3d automaticly.

Make sure you have the latest firmware on the ps3. Then you have to go into the output settings and enable the proper output in the video out section and then tell it what size your screen happens to be. Or you may after the firmware is updated unplug your PS3 and plug it back in it should recognize you have a 3D TV and ask the screen size. After you do this it works just fine. Can't figure it out then use google and get the step by step.

For televisions in the U.S., there is no way to record television shows to a USB drive or external HDD device. You may wish to consult the Samsung customer service center in your region to see if this feature may be available in a different region. Select Samsung televisions can take recorded content and play it back on the television through the USB drive if the files are supported formats and the television has this feature.

We appreciate your interest in Samsung products.

I'm speaking about jps not jpeg, jpeg works very well. Jps is like mpo format, is the new standard for 3d stereoscopic photos. I can't believe that my Samsung C8000 can't display these new standards, because, in few words, jps and mpo are a side by side image formats. I hope that Samsumg will update the tv firmware to display these new 3d photographic formats.

From the information I have, the C8000 should have the ability to display jpeg photos in 3D using the 2D to 3D function (while viewing the photo, press the "3D" button on your remote.
However, since you are having issue viewing jpeg files in general, I would suggest contacting Samsung service at 800-SAMSUNG or http://www.samsung.com/us/support/o... for additional assistance.

I think that conventional TV with cable or antenna connection was not appropiate for this class of TV. This TV is at his top when showing HD TV then we need HDMI or DVI connection to achieve this goal. Then what is the purpose of connecting it on normal cable or on antenna when you have TV top set with HD performance and HDMI connection. You can said that I can capture HD TV on air with a good antenna but not in all area and surely not in my town. I will suggest then that you programmer take a look at this feature to bring back the TV to the entry of our choice when closing our blu-ray. It will make my samsung experience and that of other customer rich and nice. Thank you in advance for you work

Question

Ps3 netflix creating jumpy images on tv

When I stream my netflix through my ps3 onto my UN46C8000XFXZA, the images seem to jump on the screen. Its not a smooth image at all. Has anyone else run into this? Instead of a person walking across the screen, it looks more like a picture book. Very jumpy.

I would try and use the netflix on my tv app, but it wont let me into my apps either.
This tv has been nothing but a pain.

Anyway, I have it connected: modem->ps3->hdmi to tv.

The cause of your problem can be many things...
1- Is you PS3 wireless or cable network ? PS3 use the protocol IEEE 802.11g for wireless, this is good enough for SD but not HD. This could cause the lag you are seeing.
2- Is your router IEEE 802.11g ? If so, streaming to your BD player or TV with the wireless dongle will have the same problem.

The cheap solution could be to send a network cable to you PS3, and reconfigure your PS3 to use the cable.
If cable networking isnt possible, upgrade to a IEEE 802.11n router, and stream Netflix or other trough your BD player if it support IEEE 802.11n. The BD-C6900 from Samsung support IEEE 802.11n.

I hope this can help a bit.
