You need either an ethernet connection to hard wire the TV to the internet, or a wireless router to connect the TV to with its wireless capabilitiy.

Question

Pausing when going to a commercial

Lately I've noticed that when I change the channel I have pausing for about 4 seconds displays HDMI and the resolution etc and it's fine again. This happens mostly when commericials pop up. Im still well within my 1 year warranty and would like to get this issue fixed or corrected by a update or whatever if thats whats needed. However regarding updates they never do seem to be a issue.

Any help please as I am considering buying another TV of this type but only if it's more reliable. I also have issues with sound in SmartHub with Netflix, I have to turn the sound up to 80% to even hear it yet regular TV is just fine.

This is not an issue with the TV, but rather the signal coming from your set-top box. The STB is dropping the video signal to the TV between channel changes. The TV attempts to display the "No Signal" message, but the STB begins outputting again before the TV has time to display the error message and displays the info banner again. Or, the box is outputting different resolutions. Every time the TV receives a resolution change the info banner will be displayed to alert you of the signal quality change. If either one of these conditions is present, the info banner will be displayed. There is nothing that can be changed in the television to disable this but here are a few things you can try in an effort to fix it.

* Switch to component cables
* Have your service provider exchange their box for a box that has an updated firmware
* Set the STB's output to a fixed 1080i or 720p resolution

Any way to play ESPN3 content on tv''s internet browser ?

Is there a way to play streamed content found on ESPN3 through the internet browser in the tv ? I know the browser has flash support, but when I try to play a video from the site nothing happens just a black box.I am a subscriber to a cable company affiliated to ESPN so access to stream content is not an issue.

While great strides have been made in recent years to bring the Internet to your living room, there remain a number of complications related to watching a video on the Internet. For instance, the variety of video codecs and video playback on Flash are both restricted. I'm sorry if you find this disappointing, but there is no way to get that working for you.

Question

How to hook up USB keyboard?

In the E-Manual it says that you can use a USB keyboard, but in the Device Manager there is only instructions for a Blue tooth keyboard. I have a USB and would like to hook it up. Any help would be great!

Thank you for contacting Samsung. I looked at the documentation for your server, and I believe it's referring to the year of the model. We use lettering for each year of the TV, so the current letter for 2012 is E. And you posted this under UN40ES6500F, so that means your model is an E model.

Since these TVs have only been out for a few months, this likely means that your media server has simply not added support yet. I'd suggest you contact that and let them know. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

about netflix

We just bought our tv the other day. We have been able to access pandoria and the internet on the tv. However, we are trying to access our netflix account on the tv but when we click the app it wont let us on netflix. It tells us to go to netflix website but the website asks for an activation code. Where do I find this activation code?

I have the exact same model tv and i originally had a similar issue also. if the app won't allow you to get on you may have to manually put your DNS in under IP settings once you first connect to the internet if so you need to enter 8888 or 8844 manually this should allow you to open the app i know it worked for us then you'll be provided the activation code.

Thank you for contacting Samsung. Many USB, HID-compliant keyboards will work. As the list would prohibitively large to mention, we suggest trying a particular keyboard to see if it works. While Samsung does manufacture a keyboard, it isn't compatible with this model. Thank you for being a Samsung customer!

Question

How do I get the amazon instant video app on this TV?

It seems Samsung TVs either come with this app or allow you to download it but I can't find it in my list of downloadable apps. By online research I learned that you have to download the Yahoo widget and get the amazon app there. I can see that www.samsung.com lists yahoo as an available app but I cannot see it when I go through my own TV.
I need the amazon app in order to stream movies and TV shows.

I am trying to run the Amazon Instant Video app on my TV and it keeps telling me a software update is required. I ran the update and have verified that there are no other updates available for the TV but the app is still giving me the same message. Any ideas?

Question

How can I use all the features on this tv. I don't have any idea of what I can do with it.

The owners manuel sucks. I can't find out how to do anything. I hate trying to pull it up on the computer. I want something that I can hold in my hand to look at and find out what I can do with this new super tv. I can't even find out how to look at the pics from my camera. Technology is good only if you can find out how to use it. Give me all the information in a book that I can look at and hold in my hand. I don't even know what this tv is capable of. The picture is great but I need the rest of the story. I expect a reply back.
