Although this model (C6300) does not have direct access to Samsung Apps (like Netflix, Pandora or YouTube), it can access App content through a 2010-11 Samsung BD player (the blu-ray player will handle the Internet content processing). Unfortunately, I currently do not have any information on Samsung Apps or Smart TV being added to the 2011 and earlier models that do not offer said features.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you,

In order to connect to Netflix, the TV will need to have Samsung apps. This particular model does not have that. You will need to buy a Blu-Ray Player that comes with Samsung Apps pre-loaded or buy a USB dongle that Samsung makes.

I have the same issue and havent figured it out yet. Mine though is directly related to how bright the room is. I turn out my light in the dark and the screen gets darker. Not sure if I like it. This is the first night I have the TV and I will read the book to figure how to turn this feature off. (at least I think its an option/feature?)

If you turn off the ECO solutions feature I believe that will stop the screen lighter/darker feature. I think this is the power consumption adjustment that causes the screen to lighten or darken.

if you have connected the TV as a monitor, just hit "Detect Displays" on the monitors preference pane. Then you can essentially drag the iPhoto window to the other monitor (other options should be pretty evident in the preference pane).

This sounds like you are connected up correctly and the TV is working. Getting your icon on your screen is a matter of how you have the MacBook setup to send out the signal. There are basically 3 ways to do this:

1) Extended Desktop: In this mode imagine that your laptop screen and TV are just one big long screen. Usually positioned side-by-side you will be able to move your mouse from one screen to the next. You can also drag Icons and windows onto the other screen.
2) Dual Display / Clone: This mode the computer and the TV will display the same exact thing so your icons and mouse will be on both screen and whatever you do on one screen happens on the other. The downside to this is the monitor and the TV must use the same resolution. So if the MacBook can display a higher resolution than the TV you must lower it to the max resolution of the TV.
3) Monitor / Presentation Mode: This mode will disable the display on your MacBook and output only to the TV. If you did not want to use extended desktop or Clone this would be the best option with less confusion.

All of these modes can be selected in the Display options of you MacBook. I hope this helps.

PC Share Manager (needed with windows XP and Vista PCs, optional with Windows7) can be found by clicking on the "Software" link on the following page (middle of page):

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/d...

Also, to repeat a video file, you will want to press the "Tools" button on the remote once you are playing the video, then select Repeat Mode: Title for that specific file to be repeated, or select All to have all available files repeated. Again, the software does not do the repeating, the TV will. I hope this has helped you out!

Although the speaker system on the Samsung TVs offers rich and clear audio quality, I can understand the desire to have a higher fidelity audio experience. To do so, I would recommend that you acquire an A/V receiver, since there is no physical way to connect just speakers to the TV (unless the speakers offer an onboard sound driver). From the TV, connect to the receiver via optical cable or RCA analogue cable.

Samsung HDTVs are carefully calibrated and configured at the factory with several picture settings for your convenience. Most Samsung HDTV owners will be extremely happy with these factory settings and will have no need for additional calibration.
However, some purchasers may prefer to customize settings and have their Samsung HDTV undergo additional calibration in their home to suit their particular viewing environment. Trained calibrators, such as those certified by THX Ltd or the Imaging Science Foundation (ISF), can compensate for differences in video signals coming from cable or satellite set-top boxes or DVD players. These calibrators will also take into account the HDTV’s screen size, viewing distance, and ambient lighting levels while making their adjustments.
The certified calibrator should be able to show you the difference in measurements before and after the calibration. Depending on the level of adjustments made in your home, you may or may not see a dramatic change in picture. Adjustments can improve black levels, shadow detail and color accuracy. Image sharpness will likely be less exaggerated, reducing picture noise while enhancing fine details.

necessary no. Recommended yes. All are bright and pretty but not correct. Most tv's have very close to perfect picture quality but i like to tweak it to make it better if i can. whether its a firmware update or software upgrade. search for calibration dvd's they will provide alot of help. Also most people will not tell the difference off hand until they see another tv. Could be worse or better its all in the EYES of the beholder.

Unfortunately, Samsung can not suggest calibration or any specific calibration numbers since every calibration has to be done based on the preferences of the customer performing the calibration. Technically, calibrations can sometimes enhance the picture quality and they can sometimes hinder quality; however, all of the Samsung TVs come pre-calibrated from the factory for optimal quality.

We called Samsung with the same question. They said that the TV automatically shows in 120, but that number on the screen is what it is reading from the cable box or the blu ray player. Apparently all cable comes in at 60 hz. Samsung customer service says the TV automatically upconverts the signal.

All UN, PN and LN units (North American Units) will only have support for NTSC/ATSC/QAM broadcasting systems and NA power systems. Since the NA TVs will not accept a PAL signal or Non-NA voltages, you will not only need a converter for the broadcast, but also for the power if you would like to use the TV in a PAL country.

For a slideshow in Media play you can only select Fast, Normal, and Slow. There is no way to change the time between the slides.
Fast: About 3 seconds per slide
Normal: About 5 seconds per slide
Slow: About 10 seconds per slide
You can change this by pressing the TOOLS button while the slide show is playing and selecting "Speed" and adjusting it to the speed you would like to use.

As a matter of fact, this device does have closed captioning. In order to access it, you can head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. CC, as far as I know, is not sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from your service providers set top boxes. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability.
