I have to disagree with Mr. Samsung on this answer. While it is true that 200x200 VESA is a standard, it appears that the screw types are not, in fact standard. I have purchased a SANUS full motion mount that is VESA 200x200 compliant; however, the machine screws required by Samsung are M8. The system comes only with M4, M5, and M6. Also, the length and thread pitch are not documented. It appears, I need M8 with about 28 mm in length (at least for my SANUS) and a pitch of 1.25. I can't locate these yet. Further, once I do obtain the bolt, it won't work because the bracket is made for a screw tjat is a max size of M6. So, the moral of the story is to purchase a mount that is specifically compatible with this exact Samsung model.

Question

Is there a way to turn off the sound of it turning off and on?

Every time the T.V. is turned on or off it makes a sound. I usually don't mind it but because it confirms that it is in fact turning on ; however it gets annoying at night when your trying to turn the T.V off without waking the kids.

You can easily turn of this melody or lower the volume of it in the menu of the TV. Follow these steps:
1) Open the menu and scroll down to "Setup", and then press ENTER.
2) Scroll down to "General" and then press ENTER.
3) Select "Melody" and then press ENTER.
4) Select Low, Medium, High, or OFF.
If you select OFF there will be no start up or shut down melody to worry about.

If TV is 32D4000NDxza (note: ND) with an adapter with mini plugs on one end and RCA plugs on the other, then:

Make sure the mini-plugs are inserted firmly and all the way into their jacks. I was fooled by this and did not get signal until I shoved the adapter plugs further into the jacks.

Are you sure about a 4 digit code? I just set mine up to a Comcast remote and had to use a 5 digit code. Try these; 10812 (this one worked for me), 11632, 10060, 10702 or 11959. Good luck.

If you head to your TV's menu, then to the Setup sub-menu, you will see the “General” option. Within this option, you will find the Game Mode option. If Game Mode is grayed out, this means you do not have your device connected to an input that supports game mode.

As a matter of fact, this device does have closed captioning. In order to access it, you can head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. The CC information cannot be sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from 3rd party devices. That said, most service provider set top boxes and DVD/BD players will handle CC on board, which will then be displayed on the TV as part of the video signal. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability.

Question

Is there something wrong with my Samsung 32' 4 series LED tv, it will not work with ANY composite cables in my house?

I have followed the directions for hooking a/v cables into the adapter to a T. I have hooked in three different devices with three different cables(a PS2, a Portable DVD Player, and a VCR)!! Every time I put them in from the manual directions, the T.V. reads "No Signal, Check Connected Device's power, cable connection, and source selection." Is this tv capable of playing anything through a composite cable at all?

Question

Mounting

I plan on purchasing the UN32C4000 and mounting the UN32C4000 in a class A motorhome where the existing tube type TV sits now. The existing TV is at an angle of about 6 degrees and was planing to mount UN32C4000 at that same angle. Two questions: Will the VESA mount or Ultra Slim mount be strong enought to support the UN32C4000 while traveling down the highway? and the second question is: Can the UN32C4000 withstand the jarring and vibration while traveling down the highway? Please advise. If you have a better solution I would like to know about it.

Although I can only assume that the TV will withstand being in a motor home, I cannot guarantee that severe vibrations will not damage your unit. However, I highly suggest using a standard Vesa wall mount for your application since the ultra slim mount may not give you the proper support. For more info on a Vesa mount, please contact your local retailer.

All current generation Samsung TVs are digital cable ready. All of our TVs include a coax ATSC/QAM tuner that handles digital and analogue broadcast signals as well. No external boxes or equipment needed to view your basic cable. Premium service may require additional equipment and fees. Please contact your service provider for details.

Although this model does not have direct access to Samsung Apps (like Netflix, Pandora or YouTube), it can access App content through a 2010-11 Samsung BD player (the blu-ray player will handle the Internet content processing). Additionally, the Samsung Linkstick can only facilitate a network connection to Samsung Devices that already offers either network connectivity or Internet@TV and Samsung Apps. It cannot add additional features.

To connect external speakers to your Samsung TV they will either need to be self amplified or connected to an amplifier. Then connect the amplifier to the optical or analog audio out on the TV.

All UN, PN and LN units (North American Units) will only have support for NTSC/ATSC/QAM broadcasting systems and NA power systems. Since the NA TVs will not accept a PAL signal or Non-NA voltages, you will not only need a converter for the broadcast, but also for the power if you would like to use the TV in a PAL country. Unfortunately, I will not be able to recommend a specific converter since Samsung cannot offer support for products we do not manufacture.

Question

What is the size of the VESA complient screws that are used to wall mount this unit?

My experience is that new flat screens generally come with these screws, but since this model doesn't and I am not using a Samsung wall mount, I need to know exactly what size to order and where to get them from. The manual only states the size as M8. I believe there is a length measurement needed also.

The are in fact M8, 1.25thread machine screws. If you get them 1 inch in length they will be just a shade too long with the included stand-offs, but you can use the stand-off's to take up the slack.

In order to activate/deactivate your Power-on tone, you can head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu. Once there you should see the "General" option.
