The easiest way to mute the monitor/TV is to press the mute button on the remote control. Changing the volume after muting the display with this method will unmute the display.

You can also mute by pressing the menu button located on the right side of the display, going down to sound (using the channel - button to go down and then volume + button to go across) and then down to TV speaker (once again using the channel - button). Once TV speaker is highlighted, press the volume + button to highlight it and then use either channel + or - to toggle sound off or on. Finally use the volume + button to confirm your choice.
In Short: Menu -> Sound -> TV Speaker -> Off
If you try to change the volume after muting with this method you will receive a "Not Available" information message.

I have a Mac and the same monitor. I have never had this problem EXCEPT when "Put the displays to sleep when the computer is inactive for:" in the Energy Saver setting in System Preferences is incorrect.

However, I also have a Samsung SyncMaster 226BW. It goes blank after an extended period of no activity. The Power Switch light remains on but the switch does nothing at this point. The only way to get the monitor working again is to unplug it and then put the plug back in. Shutting down my entire system or rebooting my computer is not necessary.

I called Samsung Support and was told that unplugging the monitor and plugging it back in is the best and quickest way to solve the problem. Apparently there is a 'bug' in the software or some other unresolved difficulty with some Samsung monitors. The support Tech did not respond when I suggested that might be the problem. She simply re-stated the suggestion to unplug/plug-in the monitor.

In defense of Samsung, I have other electronic equipment (including a DISH receiver) that must be unplugged from time to time in order for it to reset itself.

The T260 is only a monitor and TV tuner. You would need a computer or other netflix compatable like x-box to watch netflix.

The On Screen Display Menu can not be changed in size. However if you are looking to change the size of windows and information on the computer this can be performed through your Operating System settings.

Yes it does. I use mine in my office where its hooked up to my computer and a coaxial cable from my HD antenna. It broadcasts beautiful HDTV with its built in tuner. If it didn't have the tuner, it would be labelled a monitor and not an HDTV
