Question

What is the difference between 3D modes (2D to 3D, side by side, top/d) and whether the SSG-3050GB support these modes?

answer 1
I have 2 different models of samsung 3D glasses (ones with nose guards, and ones without) and both support all three 3D modes available.

In fact, I think that the model of glasses have nothing to do with the 3D support mode on the TV.

When I convert 2D to 3D, I always use the first option. The images look best that way. I don't think that 2d can support the side-by-side or over-under mode.

My cable provider has a few 3D movies and when I access that content, the cable box instructs me to use the over-under mode. Once I switch to that mode, it's like I'm at the cinema watching real 3D.

I also have a 3D samsung blue ray player, but I don't have to do anything when I watch content from it. I just insert the movie and the built in integration takes care of the rest.

I hope this helps you and good luck.

There is a plastic protective cover on both sides of the glasses from factory. You will need to remove both sides to get the quality you want out of the glasses. This film is just to protect them during shipping.

i went through the same thing. the glasses will only come on when they sense 3d content on your tv. if you are trying to watch 3d from directive or your cable, you have to push the 3d button on the samsung remote for your tv..it will then allow you to turn on 3d viewing. if your are watching a 3d blue ray, start it and then push the button on your glasses...the message will appear on your tv saying glasses are synced, and the green light should turn on. you should now be viewing in 3d. good luck.

Are you watching 3D content? If watching just TV you will need to hit the 3D button on your remote to put the image into 3D mode. then the glasses will only require a brief press of the button to power on. Once on you will see a green like for a few seconds.

answer 7
You need to have the 3D feature on the tv activated for the glasses to show they are powering on and off. When the glasses are powered on, the green light should flash and the lenses get a little darker. When the glasses are turned off, the red light should flash and the lenses lighten up. I have found the 3D feature works best with animated 3D movies. The 2D to 3D conversion is lacking.

They should blink green red, but then the TV should sync up. Keep in mind that you need to be within a few feet of the TV. Once synced, you should be able to sit within the general vacinity of the TV. If it still doesnt work, try pulling the battery, waiting a few seconds, put back in and then go near tv and try again.

If you are sure you have the correct model for you TV, the problem may be you aren't close enough to the TV to sync. For the TV to connect to the glasses you need to be about 12 to 18 inches away from the TV. The lights will blink red and green and go off -- they will not stay on! However, on my TV screen (and presumably on yours) a message will briefly pop up saying you are connected.

The manual has instructions on the care of the lenses. Follow the instructions, and you can't go wrong. For most smudges, however, the blue polishing cloth that came in the package is recommended.

Mike, you may treat the glasses and frame just like your medical glasses. You may use "High performance Cleaning Cloth" made by a famous Mining company in Minnesotta. It removes all finger inmpressions and cleans the sensitive glasses, spotless.
The glass wipe provided by SAMSUNG (thank you, Samsung) is adequate, but it is better to have a bigger cloth.
Good luck

Batteries should be replaced if the red LED blinks every two seconds continually.

The red and green blink blink for two seconds during the pairing process. When the pairing process is complete, your TV should say '3D glasses are connected to TV.'

Have them in front of the TV, about 1 foot. Have TV on; and bring glasses to TV. Press the power button on top and pairing should start. You should get a message on the TV screen that says "pairing glasses".

If this does not work, you need to turn off TV and start from beginning again. Turn TV back on, move glasses over to TV and press the power button.

Go to your TV, turn it on, and with the glasses just a few inches away, tap the small power button on top. In a few seconds, you should get a small banner on your TV screen telling you that the glasses and tv are paired.

The battery is a 3V button battery. It's located above the bridge, right next to the power button. Slide the tab up, which will reveal about half of the battery. The battery tray hinges backwards to allow the battery to be removed and replaced.

The battery compartment is above the nose bridge, slide out the battery compartment, you'll see approximately 1/2 of the battery. Next pull down gently on the front portion of this battery compartment (it's hinged) to allow the battery to slide out. Purchase a new 2025 Button battery, then install the battery with the writing side down (so you can't see the writing), straighten out the compartment tab and push into the glasses.

CBELCH, before you submit a problem or an issue or a doubt, it is highly necessary that you also provide the MAKE & MODEL & SERIAL number of your Electronic product.
It is absolutely impossible for any one to imagine where those 110 volt input sockets are; without the above details..
But, I may have a solution for you. Assuming that your product is SAMSUNG (of course) look at the back panel of the TV and view from below. You will see a 2 prong 110AC connection. Generally people miss this , because, most electronic consumer product comes with 3 PRONG connector. Look at the cable provided and you will know, if the connector is 2 or 3 prong connector. Connect it and enjoy.
Regarding the coloured cords, they are COMPONENT TV connectors. You may not need them or connect them. Because you can connect your TV to Amplifier through HDMI cable, which carry both Audio and Video signals. But, if your amplifier does not have corresponding HDMI receptacle, then you may have to connect Component cable RED/GREEN/BLUE.

Please be aware this is the Q&A forum for the 3D glasses, not the TV. You should go the forum for you TV model and ask the question again to be sure you get the correct answer.

However, on my plasma TV, the power cord plugs right into the very center of the back of the television.

Also, to know where to connect your wires would depend on what sort of set-up you are using. On my TV I have a new HD (High-Def) digital cable box to replace my old cable TV box. I use an HDMI cable to connect the two, so I don't need to use the colored (red/white/yellow) cords I used on my old TV.

Question

How do you turn off the 3d glasses, and, how do you know whether you turned them off, or their just re-pairing?

Is the green LED light always on when the glasses are on, and subsequently off, when the glasses are off? Also, do the glasses automatically turn off when you go 30 feet or more away from the TV? I appreciate any insight!

Once the 3D viewing is terminated, the electronic circuitry inside the glasses is designed in such a way that it shuts itself off. There is no signal from the TV to Glasses.
But, if you are not satisfied with this answer, you may lift the battery cradle by using your thumb nail. Not all the way out, but a slight upward movement about 1/4 inch. and test by pressing the white button for 20 seconds to see if the glass is trying pair. It will not. But relay on the first information.
Best of luck.

the green led only stays lit for approximatley 2 seconds after they are turned on. they don't automatically turn off when out of range. don't hold down the power button for more than one second unless you are trying to pair them to the tv the first time. and they will automatically turn off if you switch from 3D to 2D mode nice feature to save on battery life.

well if the battery is inserted right and the glasses power up then what I would do is turn on the tv stand right up front of the TV, (about 6 inches to 1 foot). then hold the power button on the glasses until the red/green light start flashing. Then it should detect the glasses once that happens, then you can turn them off and on far away from the TV.

How do you change the batteries in the SSG-3050GB LCD Active Shutter 3D Glasses?

I don't think the 3050GB has a rechargeable battery. It should be a CR2025 button type battery. The battery compartment is on the top center of the glasses frame. I was told that these glasses will only work with a Samsung 3D TV released in 2011. They won't work with a non samsung wireless device.

New glasses don't come with the battery installed. If you're sure the battery in in there, check to see if you have a blinking red light. If the light is blinking continuously or every couple of seconds, it means the battery is weak and should be replaced. To replace it, pull up in the cover and the battery will come up with it. The cover will fold back 90 degrees (to the rear of the glasses frame). Put the new battery in, return the cover to the upright position and slide it back in. You might have to pair the glasses with the TV again after replacing the battery.

Hope this helps.

Slide open the tray on the top near the button that you turn them on with and that tilts back to get the battery out. Replace the battery and then try the glasses to see if they work.
