As long as you have service, you should have 3G. There is an option on your phone to turn on 3G. If that box is checked and you don't have it, then you should call customer service. On phone its in settings, wireless and networks, and at bottom, mobile networks. Thats the box that should be checked. Hope this helps.

Question

How can I remove the large facebook "page" off my phone?

I have owned this phone for a few months now, and am on fb often. Just yesterday a large square facebook "page" appeared on my main home screen and I have no idea why. It won't leave after logging off the usual way via app.

With multimedia messaging (MMS), you can send and receive instant text messages that contain text, pictures, audio, recorded voice, or a picture slideshow. Since this is a carrier specific feature, please contact your service provider for more information.

Question

Is there a known issue with the Prevail and using scanning apps?

My wife and I both got Prevails. Neither one of us can get Barcode scanner, Google Shopper or the Weight Watchers scanning apps to work. They supposedly are compatible for this phone.

Help with transferring saved apps and files from phone mass storage to the micro SD card

I have too much memory on my phone and I desperately need to know how to transfer and save files and apps to my SD card because I do not have anything saved onto the card and I would like to know how. Ihave read the manual but I cannot find any help in doing what I need

Hi lfehrensen,

It is not necessary to download any drivers in order to connect the Prevail SPH-M820 to a computer. What you can do if use USB Mass Storage Mode.

Here is what you will need to have before you can successfully establish a connection between your device and a PC.

-microSD card (internally installed prior to start)
-compatible USB cable (included)

Press the Home key
Press the Menu Key
Tap Settings
Tap Wireless & networks
Tap USB connection
Tap Mass storage.

With the microSD card installed, connect your phone to your computer using a compatible USB cable
(Wait for the connection to establish. When connected, the host computer automatically detects your phone.)

The USB icon displays in the top left Notifications area on your screen
Touch and drag down the Status screen to reveal the Notifications page
Tap USB connected > Turn on USB storage to establish the connection and copy files between your computer and your device's microSD card
Tap OK to turn on USB storage
Locate the newly created drive letter on your computer
You can now begin to use the microSD card as a storage device
To remove the connection:

When you finish transferring data, click the USB device icon on your computer's taskbar, and follow the onscreen instructions to safely unplug the USB cable
Tap Turn off USB storage on your device

1. From the home screen, press on Menu or select Applications.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Language and keyboard.
4. Select Android Keyboard, and then press on Menu to choose settings.
5. Select Show Suggestions.

Note: You can also select Samsung keyboard and enabled Auto-replace.
