The phone's software is corrupt.
Just take it to the closest sprint store that has a tech and let them reinstall the phone's programing. It takes about 15 minutes and you won't lose any personal information, pictures, etc.
It is called a hard reset. The tech I used didn't charge me anything.

Hi avranken!

Thank you for your inquiry.

Apparently, Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package, for the purpose of transferring data between the Samsung Reclaim™ Cell Phone (SPH-M560) and a personal computer.

For you to backup your contacts saved on the SPH-M560 handset, we recommend coordinating with your service provider to assists you with this concern.

Again, we thank you for comments and appreciate your patience and understanding in this matter.

Most phones will not allow you to see the data in your phone with a PC connection. Only what is on your Sd Card, if you have one.
What normally works is if your phone has Bluetooth, then get a USB Bluetooth for your computer. Once you have them both paired up seeing each other then you should see an option to transfer your contacts to the PC.

Model Code of the phone can be found at the back of your phone near the bar codes as the battery has been taken out or on the box that came with your phone. Model code starts with SPH code followed by a letter then 3 numbers.

If you are on the product resgistration page, all you need to do is to key in the ESN HEX/MEID number on the serial number field and it will auto populate the model code of the phone.

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. Samsung does not offer a Data Kit software package for the purpose of transferring data between the handset and a personal computer or for this handset as a modem for a personal computer.

However you may still try to check with your service provider if they can offer you a software/program that would allow you this process.

If you use Windows 98/98SE, you have to download and install the USB Mass Storage Driver from the Sprint website at http://www.sprint.com.

However, there's another way to connect phone to PC without the use of a driver through the use of USB. USB (Universal Serial Bus) is a type of plug-in connection that is used to connect devices, including some handsets, to desktop or laptop PC's. In a handset, USB is useful for quickly transferring files to and from phones, or for synchronizing information with a PC application. The only USB setting needed for data transfer is the Mass Storage Connect to PC setting.

To access the USB setting follow the steps below:

Connect the USB data cable to the PC's USB port and the handset Charger/Accessories jack
From the carousel's Home tile , press the OK button for Menu
Select Tools (0)
Select Mass Storage (6)
Select Connect to PC (1)
The handset will display "Connect to PC - Call disabled"
The PC will display a Removable Disk dialog box.
Click on the "Open Folder To View Files" option and then click OK or open Windows Explorer manually
Navigate to locate pictures and/or videos on the handset or PC
Copy & Paste or Drag & Drop desired pictures and videos to the desired destination folder on the PC or memory card
On the handset, press the right soft key for Disconnect
Press the left soft key to confirm disconnection from the PC

If connection is unsuccessful, kindly try to check the following....

> Try using a different USB port (if using a desktop PC, please try to connect the USB data cable at the back port of the CPU)
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone (turn off and remove the battery for about a minute and put it back in the phone and turn it on again)
> Make sure that the USB cable is samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"
> Disable or turn off the bluetooth connection of the phone

We do not have any available software for the SPH-M560.

You may contact your service provider so you can ask them for a software that you can use to your computer so you can connect your phone.

If you will be transferring pictures or videos from the phone to the computer the you can use the following options available.

- via USB Cable
- via Memory Card
- via MMS Message
- via Bluetooth

WARNING: Do NOT disconnect the USB cable from the PC or handset during file transfer as this may cause damage to the handset or PC

Please Note: The SPH-M560 (Reclaim) handset includes support for Digital Rights Management (DRM) which allows you to play or view some purchased or subscription content. These copyright protections may prevent some images, videos, music (including ringtones) and other content from being copied, modified, transferred or forwarded to other devices.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

1. USB Cable

To transfer pictures via USB cable follow the steps below:

1.Power down the handset
2.Remove the battery cover and insert a memory card into the memory card slot located on the upper right side (Hint: copper leads will face down)

3.Connect the compatible USB data cable to both the PCs USB port and the handsets Power/Accessory interface connector

4.From the carousel's Home tile , press the OK button for the Main Menu

12.Press the left soft key to confirm disconnection from the PC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2. Memory Card

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SPH-M560 (Reclaim) handset, to a PC requires a microSD Memory Card, Memory Card Adaptor & Memory Card Reader. The microSD memory card must first be formatted, by the handset, in order for the handset to create the destination folders.

To transfer pictures (via a memory card), from the SPH-M560 (Reclaim) handset, to a PC follow the steps below:

23.Drag and drop or copy & paste the Photo(s) or Video(s) into the desired destination on the PC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3. MMS Message

Once a picture or video is taken, it is automatically saved to the In Phone handset folder, unless a memory card is detected, depending on the save to setting. From the In Phone folder, you can send pictures or videos to others, with a compatible device, via Sprint PCS Picture Mail. The first time you use any of the picture management options involving the Sprint PCS Picture Mail Web site, you will need to establish a Sprint PCS Picture Mail password. This password will also allow you to sign in to the Sprint PCS Picture Mail Web site to access and manage your uploaded pictures and albums.

Please contact your service provider for any assistance with the Sprint PCS Picture Mail service.

Thank you for your inquiry. Here are the steps below on how you can transfer your pictures from phone to computer.

To transfer pictures via USB cable follow the steps below:

1. Power down the handset
2. Remove the battery cover and insert a memory card into the memory card slot located on the upper right side (Hint: copper leads will face down)
3. Connect the compatible USB data cable to both the PCs USB port and the handsets Power/Accessory interface connector
4. From the carousel's Home tile, press the OK button for the Main Menu
5. Select Tools
6. Select Mass Storage
7. Select Connect To PC

 The handset will display "Connect to PC - Call disabled"
 The PC will display a Removable Disk dialog box.

8. Click on the "Open Folder To View Files" option and then click OK or open Windows Explorer manually
9. Navigate to locate pictures and/or videos on the handset or PC
10. Copy & Paste or Drag & Drop desired pictures and videos to the desired destination folder on the PC or memory card
11. On the handset, press the right soft key for Disconnect

Question

Replacement Parts

The glass screen cracked on my samsung reclaim but everything inside is fine. I was wondering if you sell or can send me a green replacement housing (front and back) for my phone and I can attempt my own repair. If i need to buy it, please let me know how much and how I could go about paying for it. Thanks!

Hi there!

Thank you for your inquiry. Regarding your concern, we do not sell replacement parts except for accessories of your phone.

We also advise our customers to refrain from doing a self service repair or sending phones to a unauthorized technician to avoid more complicated issues on the phone.

If the phone has physical damage and you would like to have it repaired, you may still send it in for touchscreen replacement.

However, a standard charge will likely apply for the repair of your phone. We are only able to arrange payment for these repairs through credit card (Visa or MasterCard).

We invite you to contact Samsung Customer Care at your earliest convenience through our toll free number 1-888-987-HELP (1-888-987-4357) for further information.

We thank you for your patronage of Samsung products. Have a good day.
