The notifications menu on the Sprint version has an option for "Multi window". It's all the way at the end of the menu. Make sure that's checked if you have Sprint. I don't know if the other carriers have that or not.

Last month I was selling my Note II online, (I was changing carriers), and I received several offers (more than 10 in a week) from people offering me their iPhone 5 in exchange for my Note II.

Most of them were just disappointed with their new phones... I think that says a lot.

In my opinion only you can answer that. It truly depends on what your looking for and how it meets your needs. Android has come a long way with the Jelly Bean update. I've used Android phones since the early days and JB is the best yet. You certainly have considerably more freedom on the Android Platform. For instance on the Note 2 you can swap batteries, tweak the software settings more, and add a micro SD card (plus a host of other things). However if you don't mind being tied into certain Eco-systems then by all means go for the iPhone. One of the main reasons people choose Android over the iPhone is freedom. I love gadgets and smartphones. I've owned a lot and the Note 2 is by far the best device I've had to date. The S-pen functionality adds features that you won't find on the iPhone. The screen in my opinion is worth it. First decide what you want from your phone, do the research and go from there. This is at least a two year commitment (unless you buy off contract) so you want to do your research.

I would like to say that I have played with this device since the first day it release on Sprint and have also played used the iPhone 5 (owned the iPhone 4S). Bar None...this is a beast of a phone with just about every feature. There is no comparison between a phone that is 5.5 plus inches to a 4 inches. A battery that with heavy usage last all day and you can take out and add another (just in case) to a device that does not remove nor last half a day. I could go on and on, but if you think the Galaxy Note II is too big of the next big thing...put it in your and you will soon find yourself NOT wanting to put it down.

Hi AndyfromFL,

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that split screen is not functioning on your phone, SPH-L900 and we're sorry to hear that.

Your phone is not capable of the feature split screen.

All Samsung products are manufactured to the specifications of the service provider for whom they are produced.

We are unable to speculate when/if a software revision with this feature might be available due to the fact that this might lead to inaccurate information and confusion.

Question

Outside of wifi, my mobile network will not turn on.

Talked to Sprint.I've updated PRL and everything else. Mobile Network is checked in the settings. Switched from Automatic to CDMA, and back. Looked on the web to find it also occurs with other carriers on the Note 2. One fix was to turn Airplane mode or Mobile Network on, then off. It will come back on sporadically.
My battery is also barely lasting half the day with NO use after last update. Occasionally gets hot, and I have to switch phone off.I've seen these same issues on the web and tried all the fixes. Still having lots of trouble with Mobile Network connecting.

The memo's app is the S Note app. You can copy text into the app using copy / paste from any other application. e.g. Email, web page etc.

To copy and paste first select the text and then select the Copy button. Then go to S Note and long hold using the text tool while editing a note. Then select the Paste button.

Hi Tony,

I think most of the issues with Kies are related to the Java applet. I tried KiesAir on my Windows8 PC and had to install, delete, and install again the Java software.
On my girlfriend's laptop (running Vista) it was impossible to make it work.

I decided to try AirDroid, and it worked flawlessly on the first try.

Question

Does Samsung and Dropbox still offer 50GB of free space with the Note 2

I have seen a number of articles stating that Dropbox is providing 48 to 50gb of free space(for 2 years) with the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy note 2. I have even received an email stating the same with no apparent way to actually get the cloud storage.

Is this promotion still in effect.

The Dropbox promotion is in effect until 9/4/2014. I purchased my phone in December 2012 and all I did was log into my dropbox account from the phone. You can check if you got the free space by logging into Dropbox account (from your pc access DB webpage), go to settings, then go to the bonus space tab. All free space earned will be here. I earned 48 gb.

Not all apps are compatible with multiview. Most are Samsung's and Google's apps. Some devs are now making apps compatible with multiview such as Moon+Reader, Puffin Web Browser, and GPS notes. If you have compatible apps installed, they will show on the bar when you select edit. Go the Play store and search for multiview. It will bring up apps that are compatible.

Question

Key sounds and Haptic feedback will not disable

Since the 4.1.2 update I have noticed that my on screen keyboard went back to having key sounds and haptic feedback, both of these were disabled before the update.

I went to disable these features only to find they were already set as disabled in the settings, yet I still get haptic feedback and a audible sound when taping a letter on the keyboard.

I have tried to re-enable then disable them again hoping this would toggle them off, however this does nothing it seems those setting options no longer do anything at least on my phone.

I often use my phone in areas where it is inappropriate to have constant key sounds and Haptic feedback tends to put unnecessary drain on the battery, Is there a different way i can disable these features?

It appears that a soft reset did not work either. I am not sure about posting to facebook or twitter as twitter only has 140 characters in which to explain my problem and almost 20 of those are taken up by just adding the @samsungsupport

Facebook it would get buried under a pile of other comments and posts before any support person ever saw it so this is likely my best option.

Hi pamelak30,

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand your concern that your Samsung Galaxy Note II has a lag whenever you access the screen on sleep mode and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Please try to do a soft reset. Turn of the phone, remove and put the battery back after 1-2 minutes.

Please make sure that there's no apps running on the background because it can make the phone respond slower.

You may use the link provided below for steps on how to close all running applications on the phone.

Depending on your network and location (in the world).

I found out that most carriers in the U.S. blocked that application in order to charge costumers for their own versions.

You can also try rooting your phone and flashing a new OS in order to make Dive work,

Hello and thanks for reaching out!

Open the Notification Panel by swiping your finger from the top of the screen to the bottom. You will see the Wi-Fi icon at the top of the panel. You can touch the icon to turn Wi-Fi on or off. When Wi-Fi is on, it will scan for and connect to any known access points (access points you have previously connected to).

Question

Why so much trouble connecting to a Windows 7 desktop machine with a USB cable?

EVERY time I want to connect my Note II to my computer to put music or anything else on it I have to completely re-install the USB driver and Kies.

WHY??? I LOVE everything about my Note II EXCEPT for this. How can Samsung figure out all this slick connectivity and yet lose sight of the most basic connection that 95+% of the users need and use regularly?

It's probably some issue with your Windows USB drivers. (I would need to know more information about your computer.)

Two easy options to connect with your computer are KiesAir and AirDroid (both available for free) They are really easy to set up and use, and they connect through your WiFi network.
I prefer the second, since Kies uses a Java applet that crashes on some computers.

Also, you can use Samsung AllShare Play if you want to connect to your computer from anywhere.

Question

Briefing Content in the Alarm Feauture

Under the Alarm of the Note II the is an option for the alarm to "brief" you with the time, weather, and news instead of just alarm music to wake you up. This feature is great, It tells me the time and weather before I even open my eyes, but the news is exactly the same everyday....the news story of the day never updates. How do I fix this? I've only had the Note II for 4 days and every day the news story is the same and it shows a date on the news story of April 2, 2013....and today is the 5th. Please help.

To turn on 4G (LTE) you have to go into settings (pull down the status bar and select the gear).

Select More Settings, then select Mobile Networks followed by Network mode.

Here you will have the default CDMA selected (probably).

You have the option of LTE / CDMA, GSM / UMTS and Automatic. To make use of 4G (LTE), select the 4G / LTE option. Note that after changing this the device will need to be restarted.

Good question!

Here is what I found:

Press and hold the microphone icon at the bottom of your keyboard (image 1) until you see a pop-up window.
From that window select the icon that looks like a T with a pencil (second at bottom)

That will take you to the S-pen interface (image 2)

To go back to the regular keyboard, repeat the process, and select the keyboard icon.
