The User Manual for the SMK9175 recommends leaving the Turntable On for best results unless you need to turn it off for a large item such as a rectangular dish that would not be able to rotate.

Please refer to page 45 of the SMK9175 User Manual for details and instructions on using the combination cooking feature. These instructions indicate the ability to manually select the % Power Level for the microwave; temperature is not selectable when using the grill or brown function in the same way that you would not set a temperature on a broiler. To develop recipes requiring a temperature control, please refer to the Convection Cooking instructions on page 44.

You can click on the link below for a downloadable pdf of the installation instructions for Samsung over-the-range microwaves: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa.... Please note that these instructions are the same for all Samsung over the range microwaves, and are not specific to any one model. Thank you for the question. The SMK9175ST does not require an outside vent. It can be set up to recirculate filtered air into the room, or can be vented outside through the top or back of the unit for those who prefer that method.

I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. The turntable that is intended to go with the SMK9175 microwave is part number DE74-20016A, and should measure 13-9/16" in diameter. If the one you received is larger than this, please contact 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Question

How do I select basic microwave times for simple "reheat" foods

Our older microwave had reheat codes for simple foods like canned soup. Our new 1.7 OTC microwave does not. It only has reheat times for 3 types of foods (e.g., "casserole"), and they don't seem to work for all the foods we want to cook/reheat. Is there any list of cooking times & instructions I can procure?

Thank you for the question. Because the SMK9175 Speed Oven has many more functions available than a standard microwave, it is important to review the user manual for instructions on how to program particular items, like soup. Please refer to page 23 for instructions to reheat soup and other items. If you download the User Manual and save it as a pdf on your computer, you can easily search for particular items by typing a key word into the search field. You'll also find in the manual instructions for using the cookbook recipes which are preprogrammed, or for creating your own dishes using not only the microwave, but also the convection and grilling features.

It isn't unusual for steam and condensation to form inside the microwave or on the door depending on the moisture level in the food. If you cook with the food uncovered, it's more likely for the steam to escape into the cavity of the microwave. Either way, the moisture should dissipate on its own.
