Question

"SE" error code

I get an SE error code when I try to operate my microwave. We have tried cycling the power, unplugging, etc., but the error keeps coming back after a few hours/days everytime. I am guessing need to replace the electronic part that goes behind the touch pad.

What is this part called and what is the part#? Is this covered by warranty?

Thank you for contacting Samsung. I'm sorry to hear you're having that problem with your microwave. Have you tried cutting the power to the microwave with the circuit breaker? Give that a shot and let us know if it helps.

If not, the microwave would need to be serviced. Please email the following info to our Support Form email -- smsupport@sea.samsung.com -- and we'll look into your warranty status and get back with you directly via email:

-Name
-Phone number (include 2 of them if you have them)
-Address
-Model
-Serial number
-Picture of the bill of sale if you have that

Thanks!

Question

Troubleshooting request

The microwave is malfunctioning. The cooktop light will randomly being cycling from "Hi" to "Lo" to "Off" repeatedly. It can be stopped only by unplugging the unit. After restoring power and resetting the clock, the unit will work normally only for a short period of time before the cycling of the cooktop light begins again. During that short period of normal operation, the unit does heat food normally. Can you please advise of what the problem is and how it can be repaired. Thank you.

Question

Why does Microwave run without being started?

We woke up to our microwave running. It had melted a plastic cover we use to cover food when we use the microwave.

It started on its own and was running when we awoke. We had to unplug it to stop it from running.

We just had the magnetron replaced in October. This microwave is less than 18 mos old.

When powered on it goes to code 5E.

Question

Is it ok to leave the cooktop/nightlight on all the time?

We leave the light on most of the time. I've owned this microwave a year and love it. Recently the light bulb seemed to get very hot and it burned out a few minutes later. When we tried to replace it the bulb wouldn't unscrew and it broke off. Could it have overheated. And why?

Question

Why won't the door stay closed?

Last night, for no reason, the door poped open. It would shut, but not latch. As a result, the inside light would stay on and the unit would not work. I unpluged it so the light would go off. How do I adjust the latch so it locks the door when shut and I can again use the microwave.

Thank you for contacting Samsung.

We apologize for the delay in addressing your concerns. We have researched your reported issue and recommend that you cut power to the microwave for 30 seconds, then restore power. If the code returns, you'll need to file a service request via the link below.

http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

If the issue does not reappear, it is resolved. This is usually caused by a button that has been held down too long or is stuck for 10 seconds or more.
