There are actually several components of the "install kit" for the SMH9187ST. To download the standard installation instructions, please click here: http://ars.samsung.com/customer/usa...
Please note that these instructions are the same for all Samsung over the range microwaves, including your SMH9187, though it is important to confirm the blower is angled appropriately for your desired venting.

If your microwave is brand new and the hardware was missing from it, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you. You can also visit SamsungParts.com for information and availability of replacement parts.

The wall and cabinet mounting templates are currently available only as packaged with the new microwave.

Question

What does code 5E mean?

My Samsung microwave model SMH9187ST started displaying --5E-- (or maybe it is -SE--) this morning. Hitting STOP/CLEAR will make the code go away, but after an hour or so the microwave beeps several times and displays the same code again. What does it mean, and what do I need to do about it?

If your microwave is plugged into a working, dedicated 20-amp outlet but it does not power on, it may require service. I would suggest cycling the circuit breaker. The SMH9187ST can be set up to vent outside from the rear or top of the unit, which would require vent ducts to be installed, or filtered air can be recirculated into the room from vents located in the front that are concealed from view, which would not require any vent ducts.

How to fix door

The door on our microwave will not close. It seems the hooks have lost the ability to stay down. Maybe a spring that broke. I hope we can fix it since it's not even two years that we've had it. Can you tell us how to do it.

Question

Fan won't turn off

I have the smh9187st model microwave and the vent fan won't turn off. The fan's off button is completely unresponsive and the levels only go from 2-5 so won't go down to 1 either. Recently, whenever something is microwaved and then removed from the microwave, the beep continues to go off every 30 seconds until I hit the stop button twice. Is this microwave just dead or is there a way to reset it all? I can't live with the fan on 24 hours a day.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your SMH9187. It's not unusual for the fan to come on or stay on automatically in order to cool the internal microwave components, particularly if the range surface beneath it is hot. However, if it stays on long after the surfaces in and around it are cool, and if the controls are not responsive, I would suggest cycling the power by unplugging and replugging or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. If the problem persists, your microwave may require service. Please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.
