I know we did and it seems to be working fine. We (my husband and I) deliberately used the option to vent out of the top of the microwave through a existing vent that goes outside so the combustion products of the gas stove don't linger in the kitchen. See the installation instructions included in the box. We have about 18" from the stove top to the bottom of the microwave; and that is plenty for the pots we usually use, with room to stir and lift pot lids on and off.

The dimensions are found in the specifications listing on the store web site; but I measured 16 1/2 " x 29 7/8" x 15 1/4" (h x w x d). The depth is from back of unit to the front of the door; the door handle would add about another 1 1/2 ".

The SMH9151STE measures 29-7/8" (w) x 16-1/2" (h) x 15-1/16" (d) on the outside. The interior oven cavity dimensions are 19-5/16" (w) x 9-5/8" (h) x 14-3/8" (d).

answer 1
I'm sorry to hear your potatoes are being overcooked. After reviewing the User Manual, I'm not sure where you've found that the SMH9151 should cook a potato for 4 minutes rather than 6. The Auto Cook function is programmed based on an average 8-10 oz. potato, and the instructions describe how the potatoes should be arranged on the turntable (in a spoke-like fashion) in order for them to cook properly. It also explains that using the Auto Cook function continuously - i.e., cooking a potato, then cooking another right away without allowing 5 minutes in between to cool down - could result in foods being overcooked.

If you follow the Auto Cook tips in the manual (potato size, quantity of potatoes matching the number of button pushes, arrangement of potatoes on turntable, and cooling time allowed between Auto Cook commands) and you still feel the microwave is not functioning properly, I would suggest contacting 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can assist you further.

Please also keep in mind that this particular model, the SMH9151, is not equipped with Sensor Cooking, so the Auto Cook is a pre-programmed command rather than a sensor detecting the moisture and vapors from the food. These Auto Cook commands cannot be adjusted or reprogrammed by you, but may be able to be corrected by a technician if it is not working properly.

It is not unusual for there to be occasional slipping as the tray turns since the surfaces are smooth with little traction. As long as the tray, roller wheel and microwave are clean, the tray should be able to rotate without sticking.

Please try cycling the power supply to the microwave by unplugging then replugging the unit, or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. It is also very important that the microwave be plugged into a dedicated 20-amp power supply. If, after checking the power supply, you continue to experience this issue, your microwave may require service. I'm sorry to hear you're having this issue. I cannot tell you what might be causing the paint to peel, but would recommend scheduling service to address it. Perhaps the service team can help determine whether something you've used to clean the microwave could have been the cause, or how to avoid it recurring.
