What is the minimum height above the range that the OTR microwave can be installed?

The manual says 30". That seems extremely high. I am of average height and that would make it near impossible to view food in the microwave. I have been in friend's homes and their microwaves are at eye level. Our cabinets are at 36" above our new Samsung range, so we would have to return the mircrowave if this is the case. Waiting to hear from you before installing.

Thank you for the question. Please refer to the attached updated image illustrating the recommended installation measurements for the SMH8165ST and other Samsung over the range microwaves. The 30" height is based on the standard distance from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet. If the microwave attaches to the bottom of the cabinet, then the bottom of the unit would sit at 13-1/2" above the cooktop.

If the bottom of your cabinet is 36" above your cooktop, then the bottom of the microwave would be 19-1/2" above it unless you added another shelf between the cabinet and the cooktop to mount the microwave from.

For safety, the microwave must be a specific distance above the stove. If your microwave would be too high for you to use, perhaps a countertop unit would meet your needs.

I cannot comment on the speed at which the turntable rotates, but I can tell you that it is normal for the sound of the fan to fluctuate somewhat depending on the cooking selection. Problems with microwave shorting out?

I have had this microwave less than a year. Using it the other day I was in the middle of cooking a tv dinner when it seems to have shorted out. Let me explain.

When I set time the cook time and pressed start, it tried to power on but immediately stopped. The display went to all stars and than it asked me to reset the time. I reset the time and tried to cook again but the cycle repeated. Odd it was just operating fine a minute ago. Keep in mind the fan and range light still work. Do you have any idea what could be causing this problem and is there an easy fix?

Can't find my user manual so you are my next step for troubleshooting the problem.

Question

The door handle is breaking on a less than year old model, how do I remove the door to tighten or inspect the handle?

It is the bottom of the door handle (pulling away from door) and, and the exterior casing is also falling off. The handle appears faulty, but I failed to register the product when we moved in and had it installed. So, how can I inspect the door to see if it is a loose handle, or if it needs to be repaired?
