We have unplugged the unit and then plugged in - message says "enjoy....." then reverts to the "SE" code and beeps. After a few minutes, with the "SE" code still flashing, the unit will beep again.

Is there a replacement part to allow the vent to go out the front?

I purchased this microwave today and didn't realize until it was installed the vent is covered by the top of the cabinet. Is there a replacement part or do I need to return it for a different model? Do you offer a front vent?

The SMH8165B can be set up to recirculate air into the room from vents located in the front that are concealed from view, or to vent outside from the rear or top of the unit. The installation guide which came with your microwave includes instructions on how to set the unit up to vent inside. All parts necessary for installing should have been included.

Please refer to the Installation instructions included in the box. There is a procedure listed to change the direction of the vent blowers from top or rear to the front of the unit. No additional part is needed. I wanted to use the top vent option; but it looks easy enough to accomplish with basic tools and a little dexterity. After you get the air flow direction changed, you would need to install the carbon filter (filter is in the box and instructions are in the Installation booklet) to reduce the amount of stuff you would be blowing back into your kitchen.

Question

What would cause power loss?

About an hour ago, our SMH8165B microwave oven became very, very hot & stopped working. My wife had intended to use just the timer option, but she may have had the microwave on - with nothing in the oven cavity.

Is there any hope for resurrecting the microwave - what about warranty - we purchased it just over eleven months ago? We would like to just replace with a Samsung MODEL SMH9187B - maybe with a bit of a price break/rebate - as the warranty is less than a year old and we are very honest people - as you can tell from our tale of woe above. Thanks.

There is not a model code on inside label of microwave

Your registration questions first asks the model number which i got from inside label of microwave, it then asks for the model code which is not on the inside label. Since question cannot be bypassed on registration and I couldn;t the the model code anywhere, I slected the first model code listed (/AA), Where is the model code for the microwave located?

The SMH8165 and other Samsung over the range microwaves require both an upper surface and the rear wall in order to attach the brackets to support the weight of the microwave.
