Looking for Answers about samsung SMH1816W 1.8 cu. ft. Over-the-Range Microwave (White)?

Our SMH1816W measures 15.5 inches deep.

The SMH1816 and other Samsung over the range microwaves are designed to be mounted under standard 12" cabinets, and it's normal for the microwave to stick out several inches which is necessary for ventilation and door swing.

Samsung over the range microwaves, like many others, use only one mounting bracket that runs horizontally along the wall behind the microwave to support it from behind, as well as screws that run through the cabinet above the microwave into the top of the unit. I'm not sure I understand your question. The glass on the interior side of the microwave door can be cleaned by wiping with a damp sponge or cloth and mild soap, as needed. If you're refering to cleaning between the panes of glass, this would require disassembly. If something has gotten inside the door, I would suggest calling 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent for assistance determining whether service or a replacement door is needed.

Thank you for the question. The SMH1816 does not have an preset option for automatically cooking rice, so I would suggest checking the packaging for your rice for microwave instructions.

The Daylight Savings feature adds an hour to the time on the clock when it is turned on, and subtracts an hour when it is turned off. It does not take effect automatically. When it is time to "spring ahead", you can turn daylight savings on by pressing My Settings > Daylight Savings (press 7) > ON (press 1). When it's time to "fall back", turn the feature off by pressing My Settings > Daylight Savings (press 7) > OFF (press 2).

If you want to set the power level to something other than High (or 10), which is the default level, enter the cooking time, then press the Power Level button and enter a number from 1-9 and press Start. For more information on controlling the power level or setting up multi-stage cooking, refer to page 15 of the user manual.
