You neeed to remove it from the microwave and reinstall the screws in the hole below the ones the screws came out of and mount the bracket to the wall the microwave just locks into the wall bracket.

answer 2
Unscrew the 2 screws that hold on the bracket to the microwave. Then mount the bracket to the wall using the template, try to find a stud (wood) and mount the bracket. Then the microwave will sit in the bracket and lift the microwave into place, the 2 small screw do not need to be put back in. Then from the cabinet insert the 2 longer screws down from the cabinet into the top of the microwave.

answer 3
Thanks for the question. The mounting bracket will need to be removed from the back of the SMH1611 prior to installation so the bracket can be attached to the wall behind the microwave as indicated by the marks on the wall template. Once the bracket is screwed to the wall, the microwave should fit securely onto the upward facing hooks, then held in place by the bolts that are screwed through the cabinets into the top of the microwave, as well. Please refer to the attached diagram which can also be found in the user manual for an illustration of how the rear-bottom of the microwave attaches to the mounting bracket.

Samsung microwaves are often shipped with the mounting bracket attached to the back of the unit, so I would suggest checking there first. If it is missing and you believe you discarded it with the box, please visit SamsungParts.com for information and availability of a replacement.

Question

Why does my microwave suddely turn on?

About two weeks ago our new microwave (less than 3 months old) first showed the error code SE. We couldn't get the microwave to operate even after troubleshooting, so we pulled out the plug and restarted it. Then we tried to reprogram the clock. About two minutes after it was reprogrammed, the oven came on by itself. We quickly stopped it, only to have it do it again.

I see on the web that others have made similar comments. And those comments are more than a year old. How can you sell this microwave again after you surely know that the problem exists.

I am very disappointed. What do I have to do? Take it down and spend the money to send it somewhere? Do you stand mehind your product?

"SE" is an error code that may have different causes. If the initial troubleshooting step of cycling the power does not clear the code, then service by a qualified technician is necessary to identify the cause and find a solution for your particular unit. I would suggest contacting 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who can answer your questions with regard to warranty coverage and help to schedule service, as well.

answer 2
Thank you for the question. Please review the following information with regard to the use of extension cords with Samsung over the range microwaves, as found on page 4 of the SMH1611 user manual:

We do not recommend using an extension cord with this appliance. If the power-supply cord is too short, have a qualified electrician or serviceman install an outlet near the appliance. However, if it is necessary to use an extension cord, read and follow the “Use of Extension Cords” section below.

Use of Extension Cords:
A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risk of your becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. Longer cord sets or extension cords are available and you can use them if you exercise care. If you use a long cord or extension cord:
1. The marked electrical rating of the cord set or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance. (In the case of the SMH1611, the rating is 120V/60 Hz/20 amps.)
2. The extension cord must be a grounding-type 3-wire cord and it must be plugged into a 3-slot outlet.
3. The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over accidentally. If you use an extension cord, the interior light may flicker and the speed of the blower may vary when the microwave oven is on. Cooking times may be longer, too.

I'm sorry to hear you're having an issue with your microwave. If it's actually an "SE" error you're seeing, this indicates a Key Short Error. Please try cycling the power by unplugging the microwave or turning the circuit breaker off then on again. If the error code returns, your microwave may require service. To initiate the service process, please submit an online service request through the link below, or call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to assist you.

Thank you for the question. Please make sure your microwave is connected to a dedicated 120V/60 Hz/20-amp power supply, then try unplugging the microwave and plugging it in again, or turning the circuit breaker off then on. If you continue to have the delayed response times you've described, your microwave may require service to determine the cause and find a solution. Question

Did I miss a step?

I've fully installed my over the range microwave. I tried placing a mug with water in the microwave and keyed in 2 minutes and hit start. Looks like everything is working but the water in the mug is still cold. The SMH1611 automatically sets the Power Level to high (10). If you prefer to cook on a lower Power Level (1-9), after using the number keypad to input the cooking time, press Power Level and select 1-9 for your desired setting, then press Start. For more information on using Power Levels or setting multiple cooking stages at different Power Levels, please refer to page 14 of the user manual which can be downloaded as a pdf file from this website.

Question

Why does my new microwave no longer heat food?

I've had the Model SMH1611B microwave a couple months now, and it's worked perfectly until tonight, when after heating several potatoes it suddenly stopped heating food at all. The interior light comes on, the appliance makes noise as if it's heating the food, and it even exhausts warm air from the vent, but it doesn't heat food at all. We've checked, and rechecked all settings, and the microwave is on a dedicated 20A circuit that functions normally. Help.

Question

How do I get past the last installation step?

Did everything right, got the wall plate installed and all the holes drilled in the bottom shelf of the overhead cabinet. Hoisted the MW up and hooked it on the wall bracket. Then we tipped it up under the shelf and it fit great. Inserted the right hand screw and snugged it up. Inserted the left hand screw and it would not start in the "floating" nut. Tipped the MW back down and the screw started! filed out the hole in the shelf and tried again. It wouldn't start! In short, no matter what I do, I can't get the screw to start. Now it won't even start in the left hand nut when the MW is down. Maybe I need to run a screw tap through the nut? What's the thread for the correct screw tap? You have any other ideas?
