Changing the memory card on your Samsung Vibrant, will disable the functionality to watch the pre loaded movie on your handset.

Hi GonAlln!

Thank you for your inquiry. If you did not receive the upgrade via Over –the –air here are the other ways to do the upgrade. To download and install the T-Mobile (t959) Vibrant from Android 2.1 (Éclair) to Android 2.2 (Froyo). This upgrade includes Wi-Fi calling, USB/Wi- Fi tethering, and various software enhancements.

To download the update:

1. Download the most recent version of Kies Mini by visiting www.TinyURL.com/KiesMini.

Note: Save the file to a desired location – Desktop recommended.

2. Double-click the Kies Mini file. The program will self extract; no action required.
3. Select the desired Language and Location, and then click Next.
4. Read the license agreement, check the box for “I accept…” and click Next.
5. Kies Mini will begin the installation.
6. Click Finish.

From the Home screen:

1. Press the Menu key and tap Settings.
2. Tap Applications.
3. Tap USB Settings.
4. Tap Ask on connection.
5. Tap the Home key to exit the settings menu.
6. Insert the USB data cable into the phone and then into an available port on the computer.
7. Select Samsung Kies at the phone prompt. The PC should recognize several devices and begin installation.

Note: This is normal and may take a few minutes. Unplug the data cable when completed.

Before updating the device it is important to back up all of your data, including the contents of the internal (non-removable) SD card device:

1. Open the Kies Mini application on the PC.
2. Connect the Vibrant to the PC using the USB cable, select Samsung Kies at prompt.

Note: If the vibrant was recently rebooted, allow the device to finish Media Scanning before attempting to connect the device to the PC.

After a few moments, Kies Mini should indicate that a software update is available.

3. Click Phone Upgrade.

4. Read the Caution statements click the checkbox for “I have read and understood…” and click Upgrade.

Kies Mini will contact the server and download the upgrade. Depending on the customer network conditions and connection speed, this could take several minutes.

Note: The phone’s screen may change state or appear to reboot during the process. DO NOT remove the device from the USB cable or reboot the PC until the update is complete. Doing so can permanently damage the device.

5. Click Ok to finish the update. Wait until the phone is finished rebooting and the Android
Home screen displays before disconnecting the device.

To check the current software version:

1. Go to the Dialer
2. Type in *#9999#

Hello,
I had changed font on my Samsung Vibrant phone. After clicking "OK", it asked me to reboot my handset. I rebooted it and never comes back up..I just see Samsung Vibrant text on my screen. Can you please help me what should i do?

We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

For you to connect the phone to the PC, it would require you to have the memory card inside the phone and a data cable that is part of your standard box contents. Once you already have the requirements, then do the following steps:

Mass Storage Settings
1. Select Menu.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select Applications.
4. Select USB settings.
5. Select Mass storage even if already selected.
6. Press Home key to return to the home screen.

Connecting to
PC
1. Connect the USB cable to the device.
2. Connect the opposite end of the USB cable to the computer.
3. Bring down the Notification Bar, and select USB Connected.
4. Select Mount

Check on the computer screen if it will recognize the device.

Thank you for your inquiry. Restoring GPS settings to factory default can enhance the overall performance of GPS and LBS (Location Based Services). A new Samsung application that has been released on the Android market will restore factory default GPS settings without having to perform a reset of the device. This application is currently available for the Samsung Vibrant (SGH-T959).

To install the GPS Restore application:

1. Open the Android Market.
2. In the search box, type “GPSRestore” and tap the search icon.
3. Select the GpsRestore application.
4. Select Install and then OK.

There are not any configurable settings for this application. It only restores GPS settings back to their factory default conditions. It is recommended that this application is run outside with a clear view of the sky for best performance.

After restoring the GPS settings back to factory default, the application also tests GPS functionality by attempting a position fix. The device will try a position fix three times before giving the option to retry.

Why Does My Samsung Vibrant Heat Up So Quickly?

Hello,
I purchased an unlocked samsung vibrant about 6 months ago. It has been working fine, but recently i see that it jumps up 20 or 30 degrees F, in a matter of minutes.

If I do not use my phone for a while (Such as the whole night), the base temperature is about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If I use it for 20 minutes (regardless if its a game or not) the temperature jumps to at least 105 degrees F. Is this a manufacturing defect? If so, what do I do to get it fixed? Please Help!

vibrant 3g stuck on headphone mode

is there anyway i can fix this? its 2.2 froyo stock and i have been doing hard reset and cleaning out the headphone jack. and doesnt seem to work. i can still hear ringer sound and notification sounds. but not media and system sounds.. any ideas?

The Samsung Vibrant automatically disconnects with your service providers internet, whenever you connect it to a wi-fi network.

Note: To turn off network service to your phone, please coordinate with your service provider.

How do I download the usb driver for my samsung vibrant?

When I try and hook my phone up to my computer, it is saying that the usb device attached to the computer has malfunctioned.

If you are trying to transfer media files from the phone to the computer or vice versa, please follow the steps provided below.
> Ensure that the Memory Card is properly inserted into the device
> Ensure that the USB mode is set on Mass Storage:
> Select Menu
> Settings
> Select Applications
> Select USB settings
> Select Mass storage even if already selected
> Press Home key to return to the home screen
> Make sure that USB debugging is uncheck:
> Select Menu
> Select Settings
>Applications
> Development
> Uncheck alll three options ( USB debugging, Allow mock location, Stay Awake)> Connect the USB data cable to the device and a laptop or PC
> After the USB icon appears in the Notification Drawer, pull it down
> Select USB Connected
> Select Mount
> On the PC, navigate to the Removable Disk assigned to the device. This can be done through the automatic pop up screen or ‘My Computer.’
> Drag and drop (copy and paste) files from other locations of your PC to this folder

If this steps wont work, Try to check this stuff….

> Try using a different USB port
> Restart the PC and soft reset the phone
> Make sure that the USB cable is samsung genuine accessory
> Try using a different USB cable
> Try to check the removable storage through the "My Computer"
Note: There are no drivers needed if you want to use the phone as a mass storage. Do not disconnect the phone while there is file transfer.

the radio only works if the headset the came with the phone is connected. the fm radio reciever is in the headset

Samsung has released a software update for the SGH-T959 (Vibrant) which is recommended to be installed. This upgrades this device from Android 2.1 to Android 2.2 and includes software improvements and additions.
