Question

Phone freeze message

Hello,
i am a Bulgarian student and i was in US on a Student Exchange program this summer. I bought a T-mobile Samsung Memoir T929 in the beggining of May. I had no problems with the phone, it has a wonderful camera and touchscreen, i captured most of my memories with it. Now i am back in my original country and i put a Bulgarian SIM card and i got a "phone freeze" message. I contact the Mobile operator for help and they told me to contact Samsung to ask for unfreeze code so i can use my phone in my country. Is is possible to give me this unfreezing code?
I hope i will get an answer soon.
Thank you in advance!

Hi Emil,

Thank you for your inquiry. We understand that you would like to use a different sim card on your phone, SGH-T929.

We advise you to contact the previous service provider of your phone to check if the phone is already unlocked so that you may use it with a different service provider.

You may reach T-Mobile 1-800-937-8997 for futher assistance.

Please also check with your prefered service provider in Bulgaria if your phone is compatible with their network.

Please note, unlocking of the phone, although at the discretion of the service provider is possible, will void all Samsung warranties for support or service. Features that are available on the intended network may not be accessible on the alternate network. Features on the alternate network may not be available this phone as these features are not those of the network on which the phone was intended to be used, and therefore, are not programmed.

Most issues like this may be resolved with minimal troubleshooting. Hello.

If you are having "PIN LOCK" or "PUK LOCK", it's a lock on the simcard and you can ask for assistance with your service provider to help you with the PUK or PIN CODE to unlock it.

If the phone has a "Phone lock" and it's asking for a passcode, use "0000” or “00000000” as a default passcode.

For further assistance, please contact our Samsung Customer Support by phone at our toll free number 1-888-987-4357, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.Monday through Friday and 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, Central Standard Time.

We can do minimal troubleshooting to your phone. Once troubleshooting has been done to the point of actual failure, we can setup a repair on the product, should it be determined the problem cannot be resolved over the phone. We can repair the phone, if it is still under warranty and has not been physically damaged.

Hi!

Are you having a phone lock message or you would like to unlock your phone for a different network?

Unlocking the phone to use it for a different network requires permission from your current service provider as We hold a proprietary licensing agreement with them. Contact your current service provider for assistance on how to unlock it using the unlock code they will provide.

Hi there!

Regarding about your concern, we recommend having soft reset on the phone. Soft reset is removing the battery for about a minute on your phone and putting it back just for you to refresh the settings on the handset.

Try to remove the email account that you setup on the SGH-T929 handset, and then set it up again.

Should this troubleshooting step did not work; we invite to contact our Customer Support Center as they can troubleshoot this issue in a timelier manner than we could through forum correspondence.
